Sisters – one of the closest relationships in the world? Megan and Sarah wouldn’t agree… MEGAN'S Megan is constantly in her big sister's shadow. Prettier, smarter, funnier, Sarah has it all; the adoration of their parents, a great group of friends, talent, and – of course – Conor. Megan struggles to retain her identity as she tries to turn the tables on her lucky, gifted sibling. But is the pecking order ever going to change? SARAH'S Now we see the sisterly relationship from Sarah's point of view, and slowly, it begins to dawn on the reader that things are not quite as they seem. Could it be that Megan’s perspective is not quite as accurate as originally perceived?

Would you please stop portraying the women/mums as having to stay at home doing housework and looking after kids her mum being the one having to give up her job so discriminating and just cuz of Megan's mental issue what if she doesn't want her mum on her case all the time caring by being irritating and mean intervening with her business and telling her off and nagging her
I remember finding this book really unusual, and I always remembered the plot (especially the part where the younger sister tries to kill/self-harm herself) as I'd never read anything like it at the age of 12. But I never remembered the author or the title and it was by chance that I came across this book when looking at Ally's World books on Amazon. Imagine my surprise that McCombie also wrote this book! A very interesting story but rather strange.

This was one of my favourite books as a teenager, and one of my earliest experiences of an unreliable narrator.
Its hard to give a synopsis of the story without spoiling it but I highly recommend this book to teenagers and young adults. It stayed with me long after I'd finished and gave me the same pang in my gut even after many, many rereads!
fantastic book. as a teenager I was one for buying books and never reading them. this book certainly changed it! the fact that it comes from two points of view keeps it interesting and full of twists! this book will always stay in my memory and will always be my favourite! I can go back to it anytime, re-read it and never get board! brilliant!
