In the spirit of C.S. Lewis's A Grief Observed, Marjorie Holmes shares a spiritual experience that will touch the hearts of believers and non-believers alike. When she lost her husband George - the greatest love of her life - Marjorie found herself alone for the first time. How she came to learn that love is stronger than death makes for a reading experience you will not easily forget. Still By Your Side includes original prayers and practical chapters on learning to live without your loved one and on the enriching power of sorrow. Whatever one's grief or loss, Still By Your Side offers hope, love, and assurance.

i will say that i have many more to read, but just opening this book gives me happiness, like I am able to get into Marjorie's mind and feel connected to a really cool soul, rooted, we all need ladies in our lives that encourage, help, lift us up, push forward, smile, laughter, happiness, but all the sad feels as well, 'cause life is not always happy, you have to have the down times as well ...but being that this is my 3rd book by Marjorie Holmes .. the other 2 were paperback this is hardback copy. i always prefer hardback but kindle (ebooks) are way cheaper this day and age. any who this was a used copy. i am truly amazed at the condition. i wouldn't call this used. way clean. hardly any wear whatsoever. amazing!! i will read it and pass it on ...Marjorie Holmes is a genius ...her amazing way with words and the ability to bring our homemaking life to mean more than i have ever heard folks confess lately ... my grandma Mary was a real homemaker ...she did much in her life but taking care of her husband and kids ...then the grandkids ...and great grandkids ...she was just awesome. miss her to pieces. the ladies of the world don't get the respect they deserve and should ...loved her. when i think about over the lessons she taught me ...i pray that in her eyes i do her namesake strong. she was a strong woman ...and because of her i am who i am ...i live to .... well so many things. but if God is pleased with me ...and i try daily ...and i thank the heavens above that i know of Marjorie's lessons ...what she went through (this was copyrighted in 1996, the year i graduated high school, GO HORNETS!!) she just has a way with words and makes you feel maybe some of the jobs you do ...though the world might make them small ...you are moving mountains. go girl!! keep strong and be proud of all your accomplishments, no matter how big or small!!! i am saying that this is my 2nd favorite from her ... number 1. "I've Got to Talk to Somebody, God: A Woman's Conversations with God" number 3. "Hold Me Up a Little Longer, Lord"
