Israel: A Biblical Tour of the Holy Land

Rate this book
After visiting Israel, people understand why it is called the "fifth gospel." Just as the four Gospels of the New Testament portray a different facet of Jesus' life and ministry, the land and culture of Israel bring revelation and added dimension to His humanity, divinity, and teachings. In this book you will walk the streets Jesus walked, visit the homes of biblical prophets, gain insights into ancient mysteries, and unlock well-loved passages of the Bible. Please join us as we visit the land where heaven touches the earth.

A nice prep book for Israel trip. Organized well by geographic area with brief chapters and call outs with icons. There is a mix of history, archeology and modern travel info. The author has done his research - at end of book, there are with timeline, scripture reference and bullet points for kings of Judah, Israel and even the surrounding kingdoms, corresponding Roman rulers and even crusaders.

We had plans booked to go to Israel, a life long dream of mine, but after 9-11 the trip was canceled. While preparing for the trip I read this book. I felt like I learned so much more about the Holy Land and grew a deeper understanding/connection to the events of the Bible throgh this read. I love how the book is organized and detailed. Very well constructed. I need to read it again sometime, it is marvelous.

Excellent. I read this in preparation for an upcoming trip to Israel. It is organized alphabetically by Biblical sites giving details about the site as well as what events from the Bible occurred there. The end of each chapter has a page for reflection which I hope to use to journal our trip.
