A Witch Alone

Rate this book
Where do you go when your heart has been ripped out?

For Anna there is only one answer; into her past, where the truth about her mother, her power, and her real identity lie hidden.

But as Anna delves deeper into her history, she begins to fear that the truth about what set her mother running may be darker than she ever suspected. With the witches of the world on the brink of war, Seth gone, and her friend Abe wanting more from her than she can possibly give, Anna is in crisis.

As the clouds around her gather, Anna is torn between friends, family and rival tribes of witches and – at the last – between love and magic.

Hello goodreaders! What can I tell you about myself... well, I love coffee, hate tea.

I prefer cheese to chocolate (but would eat either, if you're offering).

I grew up on a reading diet of my mum's classics (Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice) my dad's sci-fi/fantasy (A Wizard of Earthsea, Dune) and the Jilly Cooper novels passed around school at break time. I always wanted to be a writer but I never thought it would happen.

I was born and raised in Sussex on the south coast of England, and I went to school in Lewes and Brighton, but I now live in London.

This to me was the worst book of the series because it had the worst ending which made me want to dash the book at a wall a million times. However, the beginning and middle were quite good.

A WITCH ALONE brings Ruth Warburton’s WINTER TRILOGY to a conclusion. After the events of A WITCH IN LOVE, Anna is left adrift, but the desire to know more about her mother – does she still live? – draws her forward and into a series of events that threatens everything – and everyone.

A WITCH ALONE is my favourite book in the WINTER TRILOGY, but at the same time it is also in this book that I find Anna her least likeable. Warburton does a brilliant job at building the tension in this book, and slowly revealing what is really going on as well as the truth about Anna and her mother.

The plot of A WITCH ALONE seems pretty simple to begin with – it’s obviously going to focus on the mystery of Anna’s past that was hinted at in A WITCH IN LOVE, but it’s not quite that simple. Warburton has cleverly been building on events that happened in A WITCH IN WINTER and brings everything to a head in this book. There has been a lot more going on in the background of the WINTER TRILOGY than there appeared. As such, there are a LOT of revelations that occur in this book and all of them took me by surprise.

As I mentioned earlier, I found Anna at her least likable in this book. There were a couple of reasons for this, one being the way she seemed to fall apart after the events of A WITCH IN LOVE – it was almost à la Bella in TWILIGHT – and I felt very frustrated with her. The other was that I found Anna to be a very selfish character at times. However, I did enjoy Anna’s relationship with both Abe and Emmaline in this book. I also liked the way Anna’s relationship with her grandmother grew and changed.

A WITCH ALONE is a good conclusion to the WINTER TRILOGY. If you are a fan of the paranormal romance genre, then you should give this series a try.

The third and final book in the trilogy, and I don’t really have much to add to my prior reviews.

It follows all the other trilogies in this genre. We know how things are going to be played out. The bad guy is obvious. The love story is going to end in a particular way. It was more fun than the first two books, but I still couldn’t bring myself to give the book more than a three star rating.

It was a nice short trilogy to read. It passed the time. It was simple, allowing me to work through them whilst I was busy. I wouldn’t go out of my way to read them again, but I can understand the appeal. I think my major problem is that I have read far too many books like this before. I have moved on to other things, and these kinds of books just don’t do anything for me anymore.

If you enjoyed the first two books, though, reading this one is a must. I’m sure plenty of people will be pleased with the way it ended – but for me I wasn’t all that bothered and I quickly moved on to my next book.

I really enjoyed the whole series. I just wasn't too happy with how it all ended out. It definitely could have had a much better ending. Too many characters were just left unfinished.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Just when I thought the Winter trilogy could not possibly get any more exciting, I read the final instalment... and it blew me away!
The beginning of the novel drops us straight back in where A Witch in Love left off. Anna is with her Grandmother, Elizabeth, who just happens to be one of the five chairs of the Ealdwitan, the British witches' equivalent of parliament. Since Seth in the second book, Anna has been working on her witchcraft, learning to control her powers properly, and then how to put them to good use. She's also working on the riddle of her mother's disappearance, trying to find out why her mother wanted her hidden, and what is so special about her that other witches seem to be willing to do anything to find her.

I loved the mystery that was spread throughout the novel, and of course, the discoveries that these brought along with them. When I read the first book in this trilogy, I had not expected anything like this to be happening in the final book, so it was a really pleasant surprise to be so drawn in. I enjoyed this book even more than book two, because the mysteries went even deeper than before, but there was at least some kind of resolution to the puzzles that Anna faced, and they were not at all what I was expecting.
I also loved the amount of action in this final instalment. There was a fair amount in A Witch in Love, but this book just blew my mind with how fast-paced and exciting it was, especially towards the end with the final struggle that Anna and her friends had to face. Even though the book is not particularly short (topping 400 pages), I read two thirds of it in one sitting, because it was so gripping that I literally did not want to put it down. If I did, even for a moment, I was thinking about what had just happened and what Anna might do next! While I was reading it, the story utterly consumed me.

Then of course, we have the romantic element to the story. If you've read the second book, A Witch in Love, then you may be surprised when I say that I really liked the romantic side of this book. No, it's not a particularly prominent part of the book (the mystery surrounding Anna's mother and her powers is most prominent for the majority), but I was intrigued to see what was going to happen. Part of me was cheering for Seth, praying he would come back, and part of me wanted the other love interest to take over - I could not decide who I wanted to win Anna's affection. In the end, I was happy with how it turned out (how could I not be?), and I was satisfied with how the book ended. There's even a little hint of mystery left at the end to keep me wandering what is going to happen to Anna past the pages of the novel. I know I'm going to be imagining her story, despite the trilogy having ended.

When I read A Witch in Winter last year, I enjoyed it, but in all honesty, I didn't think I'd end up rating it as a trilogy that would stick in my mind as others have. But now, having read the final two books back-to-back, I think I'm going to have to change my mind. This trilogy will definitely stay with me for a while - Anna will stay with me for a while - and I can't wait to see what Ruth Warburton will come up with next! She has definitely won me over!

The Winter trilogy is perfect for fans of Young Adult fantasy, magic, mystery, huge battles and romances that defy all odds. It's definitely a trilogy I recommend!

Satisfying conclusion to a brilliant paranormal YA trilogy

I was looking forward to this, having loved the first two books in the series, and I was not disappointed. This twisty, clever book surprised and delighted me.

If you haven't read the first two, I'd suggest you stop right here, go to A Witch in Winter (book 1) or A Witch in Love (book 2). I can't guarantee this review will be spoiler-free for the earlier novels.

Again there is a gap between the novels and we join Anna a few weeks after the events of A Witch in Love, allowing her to have settled into a different routine since last we saw her. She remains the strongly principled character I've come to love, and the wicked Ruth Warburton continues to pull her in many directions, testing those principles at every turn. Torn between loyalties to her father, her long-dead mother, her powerful grandmother who represents the forces that tried to kill her in the first book, her witch friends and her love for Seth, Anna is constantly having to weigh up the likely effects of her actions on others.

The supporting cast also remains true to the form we've come to expect. Seth is away, trying to separate himself from Anna and her inability to have faith in his love for her. Abe is difficult but appealing in a bad-boy, rough-around-the-edges kind of way, while Emmaline is her practical, down-to-earth self. Anna's pulled loyalties and quandaries about trust are perfectly replicated in the reading experience and I was unsure whether Anna had put her faith in the right people at several different points (sometimes I was right, and sometimes wrong). This effect is enhanced by the fact that we get everything from Anna's point of view via the first person narration, so others' motives are never clearer to us than to her.

One of the great pleasures of this trilogy has been its ability to surprise me and this last instalment is no different. There were several key twists that I did not see coming, and I really enjoyed that the story got much 'bigger' from the middle of the first book onwards. What started out (or at seemed to) as a paranormal romance with witches, ended up as an epic quest narrative with action happening around the world and a genuine threat to the whole human race.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this novel (and the whole trilogy) to readers of YA, especially those looking for something 'more' in their urban fantasy or paranormal romance. This is a perfect example of a satisfying romance novel, with an admirable heroine and a strong plot beside the romance threads.

Ever read a series where you read the first two books in the series and by book three everything goes a bit wrong and you wish you hadnt read it? Yes me too. So frustrating and time consuming as a reader I can tell you that for nothing and I'm finding it is happening all the time of late!

Therefore I am POSITIVELY ECSTATIC tell you all this THIS SERIES IS FAB FROM START TO FINISH. Yes it did need to be shouted about!

So why would I recommend this series? Aside from the fact it is awesome generally I absolutely love its Britishness yay for UKYA! I love that it is a paranormal romance that doesn't leave me wanting to vomit due to the pure soppy ridiculousness of the main character who loses it entirely to be with a creature that ultimately wants to eat her alive. With this series I love that although it is paranormal it reads like a contemporary romance novel and the paranormal side doesn't take over. At the end of the day for me Anna and Seth's story would have worked without it and the paranormal side of the story just adds to it. I love Anna. Love how normal she is but also with that real inner strength and need inside herself to do her best by her family and friends without being perfect. Quite honestly this is a girl you could actually be friends with. Going back to the paranormal side of things I really enjoyed how this series is different. I loved how witchcraft was used in the story as the paranormal element as it is so much more interesting that another werewolf/vampire/angel/fairy.

so coming to this particular instalment. I liked it for several reasons. Firstly the action throughout the book is relentless. As a reader I didn't have a moment to get bored. I loved the developing relationship between Abe and Anna and I also loved how the Anna and Seth story played out. Quite honestly they are probably one of my favourite YA couples at the moment. I loved how the story built on the previous two books and not in a way that made you feel like everything had been held back for this book. I particularly enjoyed all those backstory gaps being filled in and finding out more about Anna and the world she has come from. Oh and without saying too much I loved the twists and revelations.

A fantastic read, a brilliant series and one I will continually recommend time and time again.

I was desperate to know how this series would end, something had hooked me in and I couldn't leave until I knew how it was all resolved, so I dived straight into this - the final part of the trilogy.

Seth has left Anna and she is heartbroken, trying to get over him she throws herself into learning how to control her magic and also discover more about her past. It's time to find out the truth about her mother, but where to start. As she starts to dig a trail back people start to get hurt and even killed, what does she have to sacrifice to learn the truth and who is behind it all. And most importantly why do they want her?

This book is the longest of the series so far and it felt it, I would be reading and thinking I had done at least 100 pages but had in reality only read about 30. Something about this book just seemed to drag, there is a lot of build up and back story that slows it down again, but it is padded with action and more exciting events.

I liked Anna a bit more, she has matured and is not afraid to fight back now, she's ready to take her stand and show everyone who's boss, but then at the same time she's a bit more selfish, she rushes in and doesn't think about the consequences of others. Her pining for Seth also irritated me a bit - either do something about it or move on. Harsh judgement maybe but it took up so much of the book - her just missing him and moaning.

As for Seth himself, I liked that he stepped up in this book and I liked him more, his past was explained in a bit more detail and that helped me to connect to his character.

We delve into the whole mystery behind Anna's mother's disappearance and I have to admit I was disappointed with the 'reveal'. After all the buildup you then discover what happened to her in one quick paragraph and then they move on to the next fight scene. I wanted more from Anna and actually a better explanation of what had happened and why.

The whole thing with Marcus didn't surprise me but I loved how that all ended - I'm not giving anything away here :P

Overall I felt a little let down by the ending, there were some things that I felt could have been explained better, but to be honest it wasn't bad, there was enough to satisfy most of my curiosities I just expected more.

At first I was like "Ergh, witches" and "Typical storyline.. " But no. I was wrong.
I don't usually like reading about witches since most of them would be all "learning witchcraft". But unlike those 'witch' books, the Winter trilogy is different. It may have this tittle... and the cover may not be that good (sorry, but for most people it's beautiful though) but I just can't lie and say that I didn't love this, because I love this book so much ♥

I think more than once before I decided to start the first book, and I am glad I read it. The first book turns out to be.... not that bad, so I decided to continue reading the second and the third, and it gets better and better! This last book is my favorite. I like it that the romance is not too much in this book, but enough (for me).

Anna's and Seth's relationship isn't just a straight happy line, and I love how the author manage to give me the perfect 'composition' of conflict. The conflicts is not too many and.. just right (for me). Some books might have too many conflicts, I got tired and sometimes a book can have not enough I get bored (even though I love happy endings, I don't really like it if the main char is too happy). Not to mention it is written in first person! I just love first person.

so... yeah, Love this! reading this actually made me consider living in a boat (?)
recommended ♥

I really enjoyed the first two books, even though Anna and Seth's relationship started to bother me during the second one, it was borderline abusive on Seth's part.
The way Anna treated her father was terrible, just awful. I can't stand it when author's write characters to be mean and rude to their caring parents.
The first half of the A Witch Alone was okay, I was already fed up with Seth and wished that that relationship would end.
But the last like, 80-100 pages were just terrible. You have Anna, who's supposed to be the most powerful witch ever and super strong and can do things no one else can do, but she gets exhausted after saying a single sentence, or creating light while absolutely any other witch can do basically anything for hours? That doesn't make sense at all. Even if she didn't have magic for as long as everyone else.
She's supposed to be all powerful but she can never hold her own and is constantly passing out and just sobbing all the time like she's useless. Absolutely ridiculous. She's supposed to have all this power but she never does anything! Like, what??? And seriously, she had to break the entire jar to fix a single wound? Pretty sure with her ~ultra magic~ she could have just used like, a handful. My god.
Ending was terrible, the climax was terrible. None of it made sense in relation to what Anna is supposed to be.

The first half of the book is really not very interesting. And honestly, the last half wasn't life changing or anything either. But that said, it's still worth reading if you've read the other two, as it is a nice little ending for the series.

Easy to read book about a Teen witch, who didn't find out she was a witch till she moved from London. In book 2 she finds out why her powers kicked in after the move. In Book 3 she strives to find out what happened to her mother. There is a dark aspect to these books which keeps you on the edge wanting to know if the characters will survive and over come the ordeal/predicament they find themselves in. A lot happens in book 3, I wont say what because basically.. read it yourself :D. Thing I did like though is how it ended, it had a nice proper ending that tied things up to some extent.

It was 3.5 stars up until the last couple chapters. Then it ended and I couldn’t help but think I can’t believe this is how it ended. Luckily I didn’t waste a lot of time on this series, and I might re-read the first one because I really liked that one and it was pretty atmospheric and all, but man. I just can’t.

Detestei o final do casal principal.

***this is the third book in the series, there will be spoilers for books 1 and 2, read at your peril***

A Witch Alone (AWA) picks up a few months after Seth has left Anna, she’s in a bit of a mess emotionally but thinks she’s hiding it well, and is taking lessons in all things magic from Abe (who’s still obviously dotty over her, yet she still hasn’t realized) and her Grandmother. There is no slow intro into the book, it sets off at a rocking pace, and doesn’t stop. Things start falling apart (literarily) at the Ealdwitan and Anna believes that finding the truth (and lies) about Anna’s mother, that protection spell and the link between Anna and Seth is the only way to fix things, so off to Russia she goes, why? I can’t tell you....it’ll spoil it.

I should not like Ruth Warburton. There are numerous reasons why I shouldn’t like her. Strangely she looks uncannily like my ex-sister in law (good for Ms Warburton as her doppleganger is very attractive, bad for me as I really dislike said ex-sister in law now), additionally she writes about witches, and destiny and all sorts of other possibly-sappy stuff. But I don’t dislike her, despite what logic says I should do. I feel like we should be friends, and that I could go all stalker like (I won’t!), and yes this is a little crazy, but it has been a long time since I’ve found a writer that not only pulls you into their world, but actually transplants that world into yours. There are good writers with good stories, there are ok writers with great stories (and vice versa) and there are many, many poor or average writers. Ruth (and yes, I think I have earn’t the suck up rights to be allowed to call her by her first name now) is the rare, rare thing - a great writer with a great story to tell. I’m not talking about Tolkin-esque epics with 100 page battle scenes, but I’m talking about a bloody good, engaging story that makes you care about it.

The whole series has been a success for me, but AWA is by far the best book in the trilogy. Another rarity in the written world, a series with a concluding book thats better than the first. AWA makes no apologies for being a third book, and doesn’t give any allowances to those that might not of read the first two, it goes straight into the story, and doesn’t stop. Whereas the last two books have had lulls in them, where Anna can collect her thoughts, stop for breath, there is no chance of that here, we bounce from battle to battle (be they emotional to physical), disaster to disaster, and then are left with a jaw dropping possibility of an ending, it doesn’t go where I thought it was going to go, the twists are totally unexpected (and we know how much I hate the expected twist) and handled beautifully. The ending is satisfying (despite not being how I thought it was going to end), yet leaves it open to new ideas, stories and futures, Ruth doesn’t tell the reader that its all going to be ok, nor does she say its all going to be disastrous, it just is. Its life - and thats brilliant really.

I held off on this review to find something negative to say. But I can’t think of anything. I devoured this book. I only took 3 days to read it due to flu, otherwise I’d of finished in a day.

Wait! I have thought of a bad point. What the hell am I supposed to read now? What could possibly match up?

Damn.

Ok, I rated the first two books 4 stars and this one a 2 which shows i'm not a hater. I tried to love it, like I loved the other two, but there were a lot of issues with this book. WARNING-spoilers (kinda, putting this to be safe) and a very passionate rant XD

Firstly, Anna is meant to be extremely powerful yet she doesn't show the extent of her power in this book. I was hoping for her to blow away everyone (i.e. OH MY GOD AMAZING reaction from the others) and her opponent but unfortunately...not. She instead appeared very weak and whiny.

Secondly, I felt like I was reading a soap opera. Anna and Seth were obsessed with each other, so selfish, that I really felt like putting down the book and not finishing it which rarely RARELY happens to me. It seemed that Anna was very blinkered, risking everyone's safety because he was in danger and literally giving up who she is to be with him. Fair enough if he's her husband and/or they've been going out for several years but they have been going out for just a year (or less i'm not sure). Here's a classic example of stalker/obsessiveness. At the beginning of the novel, she watches Seth in a bowl (using her powers) and admitted to watching him hours on end. Not because he was in danger, just because she wanted to watch him. Technically, that is an invasion of privacy.

Thirdly, she was a terrible daughter to her father. One of the highlights of the series (until this book) was the close relationship between her and her dad. However, Anna in this book makes her dad sick with worry, actually makes him cry and does the classic Bella act of "I'm eighteen, you can't stop me. I can do whatever I want." Her dad never deserved that treatment.

I believe the final nail in the coffin was the ending itself. In fairness, 2/3 of the novel were OK because the pacing was relatively ok, not many grammatical errors and there was character development. However the ending completely butchered Anna's character as disregarded completely in what her character is supposed to be and instead we are left with a girl who has sacrificed everything for a guy who was borderline abusive at points in this novel and in the second one (this has been highlighted by others, not just me. I hope you read their comments, you should find them on this website and they are very good.) Plus, she disregarded her "poor butchered A Levels" and said she could reapply next year, that her uni would "appreciate her year out." FACEPALM. LOGIC=FAIL.

The ending also makes the reader feel very dissatisfied with the fate of the other characters. For example, Maya. This was a shame because her and Anna began to develop a "adopted mother-daughter" relationship which I believe was presented very well in the first two books by the writer. Unfortunately she was pretty much dismissed. The villains in this book were nearly laughable. Yes, they were intimidating and I loved the darkness and gore but plot convenience really brought down the fear factor. For example, the pump HAD to stop working just when Anna's powers were getting extracted. They had been preparing to resurrect their master for centuries! They KNEW Anna was their one chance. There is NO WAY they would have prepared badly for that moment. Ugh.

I apologise for the long review. There was a lot I needed to say that had annoyed me (and others.)

My Rating : 4.5 / 5

First thoughts:
As the conclusion of a wonderful series, A Witch Alone has many moments that broke my heart. At the same time there happened many other things that could make me smile again, even though I was constantly hoping for a happy ending, which I could never expect at any moment during the story. If you were hoping for an exciting last installment, don't hesitate to finish reading this amazing series.

More detailed:

... the plot:
I was already dying to get my hands on a copy of A Witch Alone after the ending of the second book. Therefore I couldn't wait long to read it once I finally had it and am very happy I did so. There happened so many things that I definitely didn't expect. Twists and turns had me guessing and I'm sure I'm not the only one. While I'm still not completely sure what to feel about the ending, which lacked a certain spark in comparison with the rest of the book, I'm still happy with the conclusion of this series and would love to re-read it one day.

... the characters:
Oh Anna, selfless little Anna. My heart definitely broke for her more than once while reading A Witch Alone. But sometimes I wanted to shout at her nonetheless to try to make her see that accepting help can be the better solution. Not wanting to endanger the people she loves, she ends up in situations that aren't better than the ones she feared and has to realize that she can't do everything on her own.

Still, my favorite character of this series is Abe. I fell in love with him during the first book and loved every scene with him ever since. He sometimes reminds me a tiny bit like a rougher version of Adrian (Vampire Academy / Bloodlines), which would definitely explain why I like him so much. His love for his friends is unconditional even though I didn't like some of his reactions toward the end.

Of course I cannot forget to mention Seth, who is the origin of many painful moments, which I'm happy about though. A love story like Anna and Seth's can never be easy and I'm very satisfied with Ruth's approach throughout the books. Both of them make many mistakes, but that's what makes them so wonderfully realistic.

... everything:
All in all, A Witch Alone is an amazing and satisfying last installment, even though I still would have preferred a more exciting ending scene. I loved reading this series and can't wait for Ruth Warburton to write more books for me to read. If you want to delve into a world of magic and mysteries, I'm sure you'll enjoy this series!

'A Witch Alone' is the third and concluding part of Ruth Warburton's trilogy about Anna Winterson, a teenage witch. I have read a lot of young-adult series and I have to say, hand on heart, that this is one of my favourite. I have adored each instalment and will definitely be picking them off my shelves to read again and again.

After the ending of 'A Witch in Love', Anna wants to find out what really happened to her mother. She is also desperately trying to work out her own place and where she belongs. She thought she belonged with Seth but now she's struggling to make sense of her life without him. I adore Anna and Seth as a couple but they have always had hanging over them the love spell that Anna originally cast over him. This book finally puts that to rest in the most spectacular way. If you're a fan of these two characters then you will not be disappointed. I must admit that I wasn't too happy about the direction that things seemed to be taking in the previous book, with the introduction of Abe as a potential love rival. I needn't have worried about this though because Ruth Warburton deals with it perfectly and this is most definitely not your typical ya love triangle.

If I had to be picky about anything, it would probably be that I wished there was more Seth in the book. Although he does feature quite prominently in the second-half, he doesn't make much of an appearance at the start and I missed him! This was however necessary to the plot so I guess I can't complain too much. Readers are also treated to a fantastic chapter between him and Anna (if you've read the book then you'll know which one I mean and if you haven't then I won't spoil it for you) which was one of my all-time favourite moments.

The ending was incredible and had me glued to the pages. I actually had to stay up half the night to finish it because I was so engrossed. There are elements which will appeal to everyone and I loved the fact that it doesn't necessarily tie everything up with a neat bow. It's much more realistic but also remains true to the characters and the story.

Full of action, excitement, magic and romance, this was the perfect end to the series. I'm so sad that it's all over but also excited because I cannot wait to see what Ruth Warburton will write next. I shall be the first in the queue to get my hands on a copy. A wonderful British author and a five star series. These books are definitely not to be missed!

What a satisfying conclusion to an exciting series. This book is really the icing on the cake for the trilogy. I felt that the writing was stronger, the pace unstoppable and the characters had matured which meant serious business as they tackled the horrors that lay before them.
IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS IN THE SERIES YOU MAY WANT TO STOP HERE AS THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS.
This book takes place a few weeks after the last one and we encounter Anna in the middle of rather fiery training session. From the first page, you are even more aware of Abe’s growing feelings for Anna. He just can’t hide them at all. Anna is still pining for Seth even though she tries so hard not too. She allows Abe to comfort her once too many times, making it extremely difficult for him to keep away from her.
New characters are introduced in this book and we encounter Anna’s cousin Marcus. Well he is an interesting chap! Just remember if a smile doesn’t reach someone’s eyes they might not be the most trust worthy. During this book we also get to meet the Russian Witch Mafia; I know they aren’t really called that but they came across that way. They are seriously scary and have some rather inhumane rituals.
We learn a lot about Anna’s mother within this book and finally Anna can face the truth. Her own destiny appears to be bigger and more powerful than she would ever have imagined and at times you find yourself gasping with shock at what happens.
The relationship between Seth and Anna is real. It isn’t all lovey dovey and cute. They argue and fight like every other couple and they have to deal with some intense situations as the story progresses.
I loved that through half the book we got to spend time in Russia. I think is has to be one of the least used countries within YA fiction and I really enjoyed learning more about the country. Especially about the days of continual daylight; I honestly didn’t know that Russia was one of the countries to experience that.
This book is thrilling from page one, the action never stops, it just builds and builds until we reach an incredibly shocking and surprising ending. I honestly couldn’t believe what happened but it was fitting, even if I didn’t like how it finished.
This really is a powerful and dramatic ending to a brilliant home grown YA paranormal series.
