Very eye-opening and informative! Written in quite an engaging manner! I preferred reading 1 chapter a day, because more than that tends to get a bit heavy for the ‘casual’ reader :P

It's an academic book, not the easiest read but still, clear, well explained, not overloaded with technical details and nevertheless quite extansive coverage of many issues related to taste. The author provides a state of the art concerning the science of taste and food preferences.

I liked it! I find the scores given but the other readers a bit harsh. It's not a fun read, but it's very accurate, up to date and accessible.

I find it very useful and full of great references.
to be honest I don't think it's dry, my only issue is the redundant paragraphs... the book can be summarized in half of its pages, in my opinion.

Storytelling is stilted and awkward. I gave it a few honest efforts before returning it to the library unfinished. Skip it and re-read David Kessler's "End of Overeating".
