Read it so long ago that I cannot fully remember everything, but I do remember that it left me questioning a lot of things.

Well, now I've read both "Go Ask Alice" and "jay's Journal." I'm not sure how true both diaries are, but they were certainly both tragic tales. I can't really say either was a good story because if they were true, then they were just depressing. It's sad to see a teen with so much potential follow a path to self-destruction. It is easy to be on the outside looking in and knowing what they are doing wrong. It's another thing entirely to be one of those teens, experiencing those feelings they felt, and feeling like they had no other options. Adolescence can be an extremely difficult time for a teenager. It's a time in our lives when we are vulnerable to so many things, whether it be peer pressure, the bad influence of the wrong kind of person, sex, drugs, being overweight, depression, or so many other things that could tip the scales leading someone to do something drastic. It's very important if you know someone who might be going through troubles to at least let them know, they are not alone. Don't be so quick to judge them. Just be there for them. This review was a bit deeper than my review for "Go Ask Alice," but after reading 2 books in a row like this, I am seeing things differently than when I decided to read these books. As a writer, I have written about suicide in one or two of my books. It is not something to be taken lightly. I also know... knew someone who has committed suicide. It might seem like the easy way out, but it's not. It leaves chaos and devastation in its wake.

Possibly worse than Go Ask Alice? These were written in the 70s, but the casual sexist, homaphobic, ableist, and fat-phobic attitudes are still so gross.  The author Beatrice Sparks was a youth counselor...do we have eyes on the now 70-80 year olds she treated?? I need a smutty, witchy palate cleanser now, please.

I've read a handful of the Anonymous books, and while each have their in unbelievable moments, for the most part, they are at least sobering stories of real issues. This one, however, is beyond ridiculous. Just insanely ridiculous. If anyone remembers Satanic Panic, this fits that stereotype. Just skip this one. There's not even a lesson to be had.

I read this in a day. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like I was being suffocated more than I do now. It scares me that I feel so much like him.. I can’t be him.

I always like the anonymous series books, but this one was my least favorite over the others, still allot of heavy information but wouldn’t recommend this one first when reading the series.
