The Sparkling Story of Coca-Cola , a compendium of America's favorite soft drink, is an entertaining account of the product that helped define the term "pop culture." From the history of Coke's distinctive flavor, the fight for control of the formula, and the early days of advertising to the legal battles, the introduction of vending machines, and the huge demand for Coke spurred on by baby boomers, The Sparkling Story of Coca-Cola presents an overview of this world-famous product and company. With an appealing combination of entertaining text and incredible artwork -- including vintage photos, calendars, and collectibles -- this book is sure to appeal to Coke aficionados everywhere.
The Sparkling Story Of Coca-Cola is a nice albeit short book an introduction if you will to the world Coca-Cola fandom. A short history covering up to the 1950s in text with some mention of 60s,70s and 80s and in pictures covers up to 1980s with a pic for 1990s and another for 2000s.except for the picture from one of FDR's myriad agencies and fawning over FDR and the assertion of Capone being a philanthropist I love the book. You can tell the author loves this great American Icon as much as I do.
If you are a fan of Coca-Cola collectibles then this is an absolute must for your collection. It's an oversize book crammed with loads of information about the history of Coca-Cola and also has numerous photos of a variety of Coca-Cola related things. Most important to me are the photos of Coca-Cola trays, calendars and other things which are often absolutely beautiful. 140 + pages.

Once at a antique store I found a flat form of a Coca Cola tray. It was not made into a finished tray although it was on a metal background. I went ahead and bought it then had it framed and it looks really cool.
If you love Coca-Cola and/or food and drink history then pick this up. Especially if you are a big Coke fan, which I am, it's my favorite soda and the only one I really drink. For a slim volume it really is packed full of all kinds of fun bits of history on the famous soft drink such as why and how the Coke bottle got its distinct shape, why red became their trademark color and the evolution of their advertising campaigns. A must-have for Coke fans.
