This book taught me quieter a few things about working with a stressed or anxious dog. The most important thing I learned was the relationship between tryptophan and how it assists in creating seratonin and how Tyrosine competes with tryptophan and can even lead to an imbalance. I also learned that diet can be a cause of stress even apart from allergies. This book was dense in information and I feel like I would need to take notes to retain much of the information. I really appreciated this authors in depth knowledge and especially how he seems to understand specifics about breeding and showing dogs.

A thought provoking read. Can't figure out why the hell your dog is "misbehaving"? This a good resource. Worth reading several times.keep on the shelf for next time. I am a dog sitter, not trainer, and appreciate the guidelines. The author also emphasizes discussion with your vet in case something medical is going on to trigger the issue.I don't always agree with Hallgren's ideas which gets me thinking of other solutions. Not a bad exercise!

My only quibble with this book is it is a little "scattered" and feels repetitive as if several articles were cobbled to make a book?

After a lot of information on how the brain works and what stress does to it, the author offered a few practical tips on how to overcome traumatic events in your dog's life. The book includes information on diet, supplements, desensitization and more. I felt that the writing was disjointed but the information was crucial to a more compassionate understanding of sensitive dogs.

Lo de siempre. Si no te dedicas a esto, te va a ayudar muchisimo a entender y tener una aproximación al estrés y lo que se deriva de él. Buscaba algo más especializado.
