Fatal Vision

Rate this book
Having psychic abilities isn't all that great, as Morgan Tarrant could testify. They already cost her a normal family life, several jobs and lots of moving around. Vowing to keep her psychic abilities a secret, she moves one last time to French Creek, Indiana. However, she didn't count on an evil from her past following her.

After his last undercover job almost cost him his life, Detective Gabriel Walsh moves to French Creek to escape big city problems. He soon learns that evil isn't picky about where it lives or whom it threatens.

For several years, Darien Storm enjoyed using his minor psychic abilities and a con artist's tricks to bilk the public as the Messiah. By the time he reaches French Creek, he's tiring of the gig and ready to move on. Then, opportunity knocks. Morgan is beautiful, rich and holds the promise of powers he can only imagine. He lusts for her, and nothing will stand in his way to possess her.

Forced to confront the evil that invades her world, Morgan triumphs and gains a treasure worth more than gold.

*This is a review of the 2011 revised/expanded ebook edition purchased at ARe.

'Darien' may be one of the most evil villain's I've come across in a while. In fact I'm not sure there are enough words to describe my extreme distaste for him. The main plot was solid, while there was no real 'mystery' as to whodunit, trying to prove it was another matter entirely and it was nonetheless fascinating and rather morbid in some areas to watch everything unfold. I really liked Morgan and Gabe, as well as some of the other side characters and would've liked to get to know and interact with them more. We got to know Morgan the best and she was a pretty well fleshed character, her reactions, her strengths and flaws made her more real. Gabe was also pretty well fleshed, perhaps not as well as Morgan but a great male lead. I appreciated that the author let us have glimpses into Morgan, Gabe and even Darien's point of view so we could get to know their characters. I would've liked to know a bit more about the abilities they had, and what developed between Gabe and Morgan. I also felt it ended a little abruptly and would've liked an epilogue to settle things but it was otherwise an interesting, at times emotional and rather intense read. 4.5 Stars.

It had a good plot. I feel like the ending was rushed and some things just don't make sense. Morgan likes to faint and fall asleep at the wierdest times. Who the heck falls asleep after shooting your captor in the face at extremely close range? Really?? Then it just ends.

A pretty good read. A little rises at the end I think, I'd have liked it to have been expanded a little. But still a thumbs up.

Very good

I had read this book previously and thought this version was good also. Would have liked to have a longer ending.
