Following an organic 17 year-long career marked by four classic albums and a cult following that cast them as Manchester's best kept secret, Elbow finally achieved critical acclaim in 2008 when they won the Mercury Prize. This book charts the band's long journey from their humble roots through to international recognition.
Only charts the band up to the aftermath of their 2008 release: 'Seldom Seen Kid' (not the fault of the author; they can't time travel!). I found the prose a bit awkward in parts, however it's a quick read and contains decent insight into the band's formative years for anybody unfamiliar.
