From A is for apple to Z is for zilch, beloved Uglydolls star in hilarious scenes that teach the alphabet in eye-popping spreads that are unutterably Ugly—which is to say charming, irreverent, offbeat, and ADORABLE!
I bought this for my nephew, and since it's the Uglydolls of course I had to read it first. A lot of fun, although I'm not sure how some of the humour will translate to the board book crowd (ie toddlers.)
This was fun. I don't think the humor really would appeal to children much at all though (lots of money troubles and doctor/dentist visits), so I'm not sure why it was done as a board book. ABCs can be for all ages!
I liked that there were usually 3 letters to a spread that all related to each other thematically. That's an arrangement you don't see often.
I used to collect UglyDolls (mostly the small clip-on plushes) and I miss having them all strung up across my (dorm room) walls. I never got to put them up in my adult house before I got cats that like to chew on everything haha. And I bought the movie but still haven't watched it!
(Oooo I just had an idea for a novelty shelf/tag! For all those things that don't quite fit! I could never think what to call it.)
My wife found this book at the library to read to our son, and I really enjoyed reading it to him! I like the sense of humor and all the little comments the aliens make.
