I read Shape Shape 2 before I checked this out of the library and I like this book better. The patterns are a bit more my style. Lovely, shapes in floaty fabrics, with a slightly Japanese feel to them. Sizing is small and short, though, so be warned! I thought, again, that this was a Tuttle Publication but it's from Interweave! Nice photography and book design. I have not made anything from here but am considering putting it on my BUY list instead of checking it out endlessly from the library.
If you enjoy minimalist style with interesting shapes and versatility, this book has all that. Patterns for skirts, tops and pants as well as accessories.
I took this book out of the San Francisco Public Library, and I am sad to bring it back. I adore the style packed into these patterns enough to put up with the somewhat sub-par pattern sheets, which are Burda-style, but without the little niceties that make Burda patterns easier to trace.
The first thing I've made from here is the asymmetric stole, and it's terrific.
I absolutely loved this book - I am dying to try to sew the garment on the front cover: it looks so simple but so stylish (Reversible Circle Vest). As soon as I find the appropriate fabric I will make sure this is put in the queue of my projects to be done... Would I buy this book: definitely yes!... will put this on my Christmas list ;-)
The clothes in this book are interesting, but maybe a bit too interesting for someone as boring as me. They look great on the models, but I can't imagine actually wearing any of these things out of the house.
