Intenso manga que me dejó un poco inquieta luego de leerlo. Yo solo conocía a Junji Ito, por lo que estaba acostumbrado a su trazo, a sus giros argumentales, entre otros elementos típicos suyos. Hideout me pareció alto totalmente diferente e igualmente espeluznante. Lo leí una tarde gris y lluviosa, a la luz de una vela, y honestamente la historia y las perturbadoras ilustraciones hicieron lo suyo. Lo recomiendo muchísimo, es una lectura hermosa.

An lackluster and underdeveloped manga with cliched plot elements and an unsurprising conclusion that uses standard horror tropes The art irritated me as well because I couldn't comprehend it half the time. I was expecting it would be on point and perfectly spooky because I knew it would be brief, but it was neither of those. Overall, potential was wasted.

Read this one in German :) This wasn't necessarily bad, but it made me uncomfortable in all the wrong ways lol. Some of these illustrations in this one are straight up cursed and I don't want to remember them uuuh.

Ésta ha sido mi primera toma de contacto con un manga, y en concreto con uno de terror. Lo vi recomendado por aquí y no lo dudé ni un segundo.
¡¡Y me ha encantado!! No le pongo la máxima puntuación porque no pude empatizar con casi ningún personaje, los odié 😂😂 De resto, me ha parecido una lectura realmente perturbadora. Las ilustraciones son alucinantes y me ha llamado mucho la atención el cambio de trazo cuando hacía flash back (limpio y claro) y el trazo oscuro y siniestro cuando se trataba del presente. Un relato corto pero intenso que te dejará sin respiro durante toda la lectura.
Una lectura más que recomendable para éste Halloween, donde iremos de la mano con nuestro protagonista, Seiichi, hasta el descenso a su particular locura 😍😱

Lo mejor sin duda han sido las ilustraciones, espectaculares y realistas, algunas realmente aterradoras, se nota que el autor es un genio en eso, a parte toda la acción está muy bien representada y sabes perfectamente lo que ocurre en todo momento, al contrario que otros manga y comics que he leído, en los que las escenas de acción resultan a veces un tanto confusas y saturadas. Muy destacable en este aspecto.
El desarrollo de la historia me ha parecido entretenido, sin más, el ritmo está bien llevado, trata temas que podrían llegar a resultar interesantes, cómo la culpabilidad, la muerte, el juicio social, la maldad, o el significado del matrimonio para la sociedad japonesa, entre otros.
Lo que pasa es que los personajes me han parecido todos bastante odiosos, y no he empatizado con ninguno de ellos, por lo que todos esos temas tan interesantes se me han hecho un tanto superficiales.
Pero a parte de esto, si lo que buscas es entretenimiento, terror, algo de acción sangrienta y un dibujo espectacular, este manga es para vosotros.

This autobiographical horror manga... Oh, I'm kidding. It's not autobiographical. That would be weird and creepy. But it is a horror. Mostly the slasher kind. And I like horrors. This is more creepy and shivering than fearmongering one, with a simple basic story but very nicely executed and presented. Being horror comics is not easy, that should be known. The movie horrors have it much easier. And still, there are more re shittier horror movies every year. Because when you have it easy, you did not need to try that hard. Or even try. And that's also the curse of film horrors. With comics, it's the other way. You must try hard to write excellent comics in the first place, and then you can try to make it horror genre. And Kakizaki tried hard. So, this is the good stuff. Judging as comics and horror fan, I can only recommend. This, the good stuff.

Llevaba bastante tiempo guardando en la récamara este manga y en estos días ese color amarillo parecía brillar incitándome a elegirlo y colarlo entre los cientos de libros que tengo por casa.
Todo un acierto.
Es bastante perturbador, más que la historia en sí, las ilustraciones que lo acompañan. Son verdaderamente fascinantes y a muchas apenas les hace falta diálogo para transmitir ese desasosiego y mal rollo que inunda sus páginas.
Me he dado cuenta de que los trazos o la forma en la que están realizadas las ilustraciones también cuentan mucho de la historia. El trazo limpio y nítido nos transporta al pasado de Seiichi, mientras que los borrones, trazos gruesos y difuminados hacen alusión al particular descenso a la locura de nuestro protagonista.
Seiichi un escritor que no está pasando su mejor momento decide hacer un viaje reconciliador con su mujer. Lleva tiempo con una idea rondándole la cabeza y el haberse perdido en una excursión junto con leyendas locales serán el empujoncito que le falta para volver a empezar de nuevo.
Una historia muy recomendable 😉

Magnífica historia y excelentes ilustraciones.
La narración te atrapa desde el primer momento y te sumerge en un mundo oscuro, de horror y perversión con pinceladas de amor y odio, de fracaso y de ilusión. En pocas páginas y muy buenas imágenes nos coloca en un mundo sucio y pringoso que contrasta con los flashbacks recurrentes a una vida pasada, cuna de la situación con que se nos presenta el relato.
Logra crear un ambiente Lovecraftniano de catacumbas infernales al más puro estilo de Stephen King, autor de quién confiesa ser un gran seguidor.
Como único punto negativo, es muy cortita, el relato da para una novela.
Lectura recomendada.

Propali pisac čije je dete poginulo vodi suprugu na odmor kako bi je tamo ubio. Očigledno je da je autor dosta čitao Stivena Kinga.
Tokom čitanja smenjuju se scene u podzemlju gde su zarobljeni i scene života kod kuđe. Saznajemo kako je par uopšte dospeo u jezovu pećinu, ali i šta se to desilo u njihovom odnosu što je rezultiralo time da želi da ubije ženu.
Priča je, što bi se moderno reklo, bejzik, ali smatram da je crtež dosta doprineo i da je dobro prikazan način na koji glavni lik gubi razum.
Ilustracija je jeziva i meni lično se dopala, te smatram da je ona ta koja nosi ovu mangu.
Svakako pročitala sam je u dahu i vuklo me je da saznam šta će do kraja da se desi.

Made for a very fun and spooky night!
The art and story are both chillingly intimate and personal, in a way that I've not encountered hitherto in a manga. Thus, recommend this to all horror readers looking for a short, spooky read. :)

Hideout follows married man Kirishima Eiichi, who has brought his wife to a secluded cave on vacation… to kill her.
This is a very intense story. It draws on the claustrophobia of the setting and contrasts it with the free space of Kirishima’s previous life in flashbacks, to show the couple’s descent. The art style is unlike any other I’ve seen in manga. It’s incredible detailed and harsh, going well with the increasingly violent main character. At times the panels are dark and it can be difficult to distinguish what’s happening, but that only adds to the reading experience.
The characters are absolutely brutal and act and live without remorse, never taking responsibility for their own actions (other than the little kids), and I loved that about them. Sometimes you just want to experience a story where both characters are irredeemable and feel content in that. None of their actions feel justified, the man and his wife are both unpleasant and use one another as scapegoats instead of accepting responsibility.
Similar to Portus, there is some violence and strange treatment of women’s sexuality, but I felt it wasn’t all out of place in this type of story. Every character is despicable, so the wife not being any different makes sense, and she definitely uses her own strength and sex to get what she needs in a situation. It’s more about survival, whereas the violence against women in Portus can seem gratuitous and unneeded at points.
Narrative wise, I think the use of flashbacks is very efficient. Certain things are revealed at the perfect point in the narrative, so we go from believing one thing to realising it’s actually the opposite, or having conflicting emotions. The mangaka plays with you the same way he plays with character’s and their roles within the genre, subverting cliches along the way.
Another solid manga that I would recommend! Again, content warnings for death of a child, sexual violence, in general violence and and torture, and mistreatment of children.

Hasta la fecha es el MEJOR MANGA DE HORROR que leí. La historia, los personajes, el como está todo estructurad en un ciclo sin fin. Me gustó el pesimismo, la esperanza, todas las emociones que le mete a la historia son las necesarias y las trabajó muy bien. El final fue la bomba.

“Hideout” corre por caminos que quienes disfrutamos del terror hemos transitado ya en varias ocasiones. Sin embargo, eso no importa mucho porque lo mejor de este manga es, sin duda, el arte. El dibujo es asombroso, tanto en el trazo como, sobre todo, en el paso de página (capaz de dejarnos boquiabiertos en más de una ocasión).
Los personajes, en cambio, resultan tan odiosos que es difícil empatizar con ellos.

La feria del libro nos ha llenado las manos, esta vez gracias a mi hermana, he conseguido hacerme con este manga autoconclusivo. Cuando leí la sinopsis dije “Seguro que no es para tanto”, pues mi querido lector: SÍ lo es.
Primero nos encontramos con un maravilloso dibujo muy detallado y las primeras páginas en color (algo muy extraño para un manga los cuales siempre son en blanco y negro) y empieza por el medio de la historia y da un salto hacia delante.

3.5 aclarando no es terror al menos a mi parecer, la historia es buena, te das cuenta hasta que punto puede llegar al límite la mente humana antes de romperse, el dibujo de los personajes no es muy bueno que digamos pero las escenas oscuras de "terror" me gustaron bastante, mas que manga tiene más un aire de comic por el tipo de dibujo y escenas, en fin es bueno para pasar el rato, espero que traigan más historias de este mangaka.

Jaja qué acabo de leer, estuvo chido, las imágenes geniales la verdad, pero estuvo super raro y retorcido, me gustó, tiene 3.8 estrellas.
