This is an odd one - and it took me awhile to get in tuned with what was going on, but then I really enjoyed it. Perhaps a mite heavy-handed in its socio-political underpinnings, but no more so than in Brecht.

I enjoyed reading this play much more today than I did watching it ten years ago. At the time I saw it as a failed experiment - perhaps there’s something to be said about the execution - whereas now I can appreciate the social commentary within, which is arguably the whole point of the story.

I’d be curious to understand more of the facts & socio-political context that inspired the piece, as the implications of the script are serious.

A thought-provoker.
