The focus of the second volume of Yoga the Sacred Science is sadhana, spiritual practice. In this volume Swami Rama reminds us that we are here in this world because we have a purpose to fulfill. That purpose is enlightenment, a state of awareness of the Self, the one Absolute beneath all forms and names. The height of enlightenment is the realization that God is within. The path to enlightenment is sadhana.
I had been meaning to read this book for a long time, and finally got around to it. It was ok - a lot of good information. However, it lacked warmth, and by the end, I still somehow didn't feel like the book achieved what its title claims: "the path to enlightenment"
Inspiring, but not what I was expecting. I wanted to explore the philosophy behind physical yoga, but it turned out to be focused on Yoga as a philosophy. Important to read if you want to understand the true meaning behind Yoga.
