The Dome of the Rock, situated on the Temple Mount, a site sacred to three of the world's great religions and claimed by both Israel and Palestine, has suddenly become the subject of growing Internet chatter among terrorist groups being monitored by HaMossad, Israel's elite intelligence agency. Lev Novikov, a second generation agent with decades of experience, now finds himself facing a fresh challenge that threatens to rewrite history and turn the conflict in the Middle East inside out. With the help of technology journalist Karl Lustig, Lev and his team must quickly figure out the nature of the threat and neutralize it before catastrophe on an unprecedented scale strikes Jerusalem, the City of Peace. The Dome is a fast-paced drama that explores the nature of extremism and raises questions about where politics and religion are leading the world.
The Dome is an intricate, fast-paced thriller. The premise is, I think, unique, and everyone may not buy it, but it makes for a well-constructed plot. The characters are fully developed and interesting, in some cases even endearing. The book is a thoroughly enjoyable read, and I recommend it to lovers of the genre.
A terrorist plot to destroy the sacred Dome of the Rock is uncovered, and we follow the wildly diverse team that has banded together to neutralize the threat. There are so many elements – teenage hackers, an anthropological team, the Mossad, a free lance journalist, high-tech gadgets, and remote-controlled robots – and they are skillfully woven together in the race to save The Dome and forestall the chaos its destruction would surely create.
Mr. Samson has written an intelligent, fast-paced thriller that dives head-first into the political/religious turmoil of the Middle East. It is well-researched and full of suspense and intrigue. I highly recommend this book.
"The Dome", my second book by Lior Samson, was just as good as the first, so now, if there are more on my Amazon Unlimited list, I will read them too ! At this point, I have to say, that, out of the hundreds of books that I've read over the last 18 months on Amazon, that only a handful have disappointed me. This causes me some personal grief, because I was one of the first amateur Writers that signed on with Amazon back when that was first available, and I didn't stick with it !#;/?!
