I read this because I have the novel 2032 on my Kindle & figured it would be a good place to begin before getting to that story. This short collection of seven short stories was enough to give me a bit of a feel for the world the author is going to show in the novel & pique my interest enough to make me push the full length work to the top of my reading list. As soon as I'm done with this review, I'm off to begin. The stories I liked most were the one set on Island50 & the last. Both were taut glimpses & darker than I expected (honestly, so was the first story). The second & third in the collection felt a bit random (especially the third with the couple) & were extremely short but were easy reads just the same. I think maybe with more context in the full length novel, I'll be able to have a better read on those.

This is a terrific collection of stories that stay with you long after you have read them. Having had the pleasure of the full novel 2032, I am delighted that I got the opportunity to see more of this dark, twisted world. The first story is my favourite and adds to the sense of relentless paranoia that this world conveys. And the changes to the two stories which were already in the full novel are fascinating, particularly the strange dialogue in the `Island' story.

The reason I haven't given this work the full 5 stars is because as good as these stories are, I think the writer was correct not to include them in the full novel. However, they are still more enjoyable than 90% of the contemporary fiction I have been reading. Whether or not you have read 2032, you could do a lot worse than pick up 2032: 7 Days.
