Amanda Forrester has been fighting the attraction she feels for her good friend and next-door neighbor, Josh Randall, ever since he helped her light her grill right after she moved into the condo next to his. Unknown to her, Josh has been fighting those same feelings and both are afraid to mess up the great friendship they already have. But when her matchmaking family insists she comes home for Christmas and Josh finds out they have several 'someones' they want her to meet, he offers to go home with her for Christmas in order to keep her match-making family from setting her up with anyone while she's there.
Amanda takes Josh up on his offer knowing that her family will think they are a real couple. It should keep them from setting her up with anyone while she's there, but will their friendship be intact when they come back?
As the couple makes plans for Christmas, their friendship turns to love--but it's only after making their way over snow slick highways and a near miss with death that they realize it might be time to tell each other how they feel. But how exactly does one cross the bridge from friendship to love?
They're just friends. It doesn't matter that each secretly wishes they were more.
This was a well-told, faith-based short story. It's pretty simple, straight forward, and thoroughly enjoyable., even though it looks to still need some editing for grammar.
The prose needs some polishing. It reads like the author wrote it in the way she (or the way she thinks) people speak. This led to many extraneous words and also quite a few sentences that ended with the word at when they didn't need to do so.
I enjoyed the premise, and the author didn't let the "does the other person feel the same way I do" linger on for too long so that it became tiresome to the reader. That said, I don't know anyone to whom this type of thing has happened in real life.
What a way to start a relationship, it reminds me of my own marriage. Each of them developed feelings for the other, but each was afraid to bring those feelings to light in case the other didn't feel the same way. This was a wonderful story. I would definitely recommend it.
I absolutely adored Josh Randall and Amanda Forrester. I love friend's to more love stories. This was just a sweet, heartwarming, Christian Christmas romance. Full of Christmas magic. Definitely worth the price, and the cover didn't dissapoint :-)
Making Memories is a touching short Christmas story about a girl who is determined to get away from her matchmaking family. This is a tender story of meeting the single man next door who is also in her Sunday school class. You will enjoy this story.
Charming, very charming! Totally in tune with Christmas. Well rounded characters and a lovely set..I defenetly recommend it, even though that proposal came on a little too fast and strong.
I really loved this sweet story. Amanda and Josh we so cute as a couple. The story kept me interested. I will more of Me Barton's books. I also liked their faith.
