The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.
His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.
Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses.
It’s not bad. It’s not my favorite book, but still good. Alice is a sweet young girl, very nice. Not as magical as I thought, just odd. Which I guess is the point. I can appreciate the cover. It is very pretty. It’s kinda like, a few things were taken out of each story, some added in, and smashed together to make the Disney animated movie.
This would be an amazing read for a child. As an adult tho, I had wrongly assumed that the original Alice in Wonderland book went into her being mad and such. This was 100% my mistake for not being informed on the subject.
I’ve felt like I was in Alice’s shoulder throughout the whole story and, tripping my steps, falling into the words of wonder, I’ve felt like I was in that dream.
I was small then a Giant in the next blink. I was watching humpty dumpty’s weird facial expressions than a talking frog (who dresses better than me) appeared, talking to Alice.
I hope to see Alice again. With eyes more wide and words more wonderful.
