CFG09001 Little Wizards RPG Crafty Games

We all discovered roleplaying in different ways, and we all hope that our kids will love it as much as we do. Little Wizards is a roleplaying game for inventive and inquisitive kids ages 6-10, developed to introduce them to the joy and creativity of stepping into a whole new world. It is quick enough to learn in just a couple minutes, engaging enough for older kids and parents to play with their little ones, and works just like the RPGs we have all been playing since Red Box.

Little Wizards is a Crafty Games production presented as a compact childrens reader-style book, including everything you need to play and an introduction to Coinworld, where the Little Wizards live, laugh, and rise up as heroes.

Teach your kids the magic of roleplaying with Little Wizards!

Super cute TTRPG for younger kids and their adults who want to introduce them to the world of TTRPGS! I enjoyed how well laid out it was and the framework for easing grownups into the world as well.

After reading through this entire system, I believe it to be a perfect introduction to young gamers. The setting is varied and clever. Coinworld is a disc-shaped planet of mostly ocean with a scattering of archipelagos mirrored on both the Heads (light/happy) and Tails (dark/ominous) sides of the world. Players have a huge variety of settings to enjoy on both sides of the world, from pirate ports, dinosaur-inhabited lost valleys, haunted towns, classic fantasy castles and landscapes, snowy-mountain nomad lands and semi-modern cities (where the tech level is approximately early 20th century, but it's vague enough to be played as steam punk if desired).

As the game is designed for kids, the characters are magical children, with powers inherited from their family or taught the arcane arts in mystical schools. They system is simple and flexible, maintaining functionality without being overburdened with rules. The book is full of types for playing characters and narrating the story (the narrator is equivalent to the game master). Methods of play are detailed with numerous examples. Some archipelagos are described in more detail than others, providing a basis for how locations work while allowing the narrator the freedom to flesh out most of the world as he or she sees fit.

The book comes with three scenarios to play, starting very basic and gradually becoming more free form to allow those new to gaming to get a handle on the way pen and paper games work. The world, characters and system are very up beat and positive, encouraging narrators to create easier challenges and support their players success while promoting appropriate moral and social behavior in the characters of young players. Overall, I think it's a terrific start and can't wait to introduce it to my own child.

Une lecture rapide et sympathique. De quoi passer quelques bons moments à jouer avec les plus jeunes. Le système est simple, assez ouvert, et le scénario, même si très linéaire, est parfaitement adapté à la cible d'âge.

A testé autour d'une table !
