She should fear them. She can't deny them. Tatum Shirley has been away from home for more than a decade. Years that two jaw-dropping gorgeous men have waited for...her. And when they won't take no for an answer, she denies her internal logic and follows her heart.
Balmy nights on Sanibel Island have taken an erotic turn. A heated seduction begins between two Irish Werewolves and the single woman they claim many times and many ways. They would do anything to protect and keep her as their own - for an eternity. Because, that' what she's going to have to give them. Everything. Or else.
And as any heated, naughty fairy-tale progresses, there's a very big, very bad wolf. One that lays claim to Tatum. One that refuses to share. And if Jayce Jordan and Bren Walker were human, they couldn't win. Thankfully, they're insatiable beasts. The black claws, the ever sharp canines, the feral appetites, the blood lust, and the hot, wicked bodies come out to play. After a viscous fight to the finish, it's Tatum's turn to be hunted. This time, she's not complaining.
Contains mild bondage, mild exhibitionism, sex toys, vampirism, m/f/m menage amour and suspense. Includes sneak peek for Sanibel Burn and excerpt for the upcoming Captiva Captive.
I enjoyed the story but I found that I ended up confused multiple times. It seemed that the story would go from one set of people talking to a completely different set of people talking, in a different location, at a different time, with no separation. I guess what I mean is there just needed to be obvious breaks when switching scenes. There were also grammatical and spelling errors but I can usually overlook them as long as they don't ruin my reading experience.
Having said all that, I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I am not sure whether to rate this book 2 or 3 stars, I thought it was ok overall, but there were too many aspects of the book I didn't enjoy for me to give it a higher rating.
I liked the heroes - Jayce and Bren and how they had a previous but tenuous connection to Tatum, but I felt they didn't really work at winning her back when she came into their lives again. In fact I didn't feel their emotional connection at all so I couldn't understand why she was telling them after 5 minutes she loved them. For most of the story Tatum was left completely in the dark and they were more interested in sex than explaining what life with them really entailed.
The introduction of Gage and his desire for Tatum seemed contrived and unnecessary to the story (not to mention weird), and I didn't like the omniscient/head hopping POV either.
*sigh* I wanted to like this book, but I couldn't get into it.
OMG!!!! This book was freaking Hotttttt..... with a good plot and everything! I really liked this story. The only bad part is that at one point I was so mad and stressed out I wanted to throw my device into a wall and shake the author, but that just made the ending that much better.
Oh my can this author write some good sex scenes. Two alpha's, big cocks, tongue licking good. Need I go any further. I'd like to have one night with the two alphas.
Unfortunately, I could not finish this story. I got to 45% and had to quit. The story felt scattered with the multiple POVs and no noticeable transition between them. But the addition of Troy wanting Tatum back and Gage being her "mate" too (or at least in his mind) just made the story unnecessarily complicated. This one wasn't my cuppa.
I love the world TS created w/ the celestial beasts & gothic vampires. But thought the H's were assholes at times. Storyline sometimes was hard to follow. Upset the H's didn't seek h out until she came back to visit after 10 yrs. no explanation for this. 1st book in the series so glad I read just wish the characters & plot were fleshed out more.
Sanibel Heat was a fantactic read I really enjoyed how Talynn scott Made the weres a little bit more then what I've read and I enjoyed it very much XD. Cant wait to read Renees story.
So much potential.....that fell so short. Promising concept of a plot that was ruined by a very confusing writing style that had the POV switch in every paragraph. Not edited properly so that it didn’t flow well. Details were introduced in a odd way that made the book stilted. I almost pulled a DNF about 20% in but I wanted to stick it out in case it improved. It did NOT! Very disappointed. Don’t waste your time.
Weird, yet compelling. The hs ex used h, she returns home for wedding, Hs finally claim her, after messing up the claiming in high school. Evil OM kidnaps her, Hs are easily fooled - don't seem very smart. Hs are shifters, weird beasts, and their society as lots of rules, It was just OK, I'll read next book.
I like this series. This is my second time reading this series. The story is good and the sex is too...but I think the sex scenes are a bit lengthy and she loses me.
Love this unique werewolf, vampire and more series Tatum Shirley has returned to Fort Meyer Florida for her middle sister's wedding. She hasn't been back since she made the greatest mistake of her life, marrying her high school boyfriend, Troy Hillman. The divorce over a year ago and she is drowning in debt that is not her own. Facing her family, who she hasn't seen since she left, is even worse. Bren Walker has waited 10 years for the women he loves to come home. A mistake he made in high school drove her to another. She married him and left. Tatum is now free and there is nothing to stop him from claiming her. His beast will have it no other way. Jayce Jordan's arrogance in high school, drove his mate into marriage to another, before he realized what she was to him. Now the Alpha Werewolf of North America, he and his best friend and co mate, Bren Walker, have a plan to make Tatum theirs. Tatum is overwhelmed by Jayce and Bren. She finds it hard to believe they both want her. Someone wants her out of the way, wanting Jayce and Bren for themselves. Another has been in love with her for years, discovering her through her ex-husband's online site. Still another wants to claim her as mate. Tatum learns the truth about her men. Her granny reveals a long held family secret. Fast paced, and very steamy MFM, erotic romance. Jayce and Bren are very dominant. Some light BDSM. I like the world building. The werewolves and their culture is unique. No vampires are featured in this book. They show in the next, Tatum's sister Renee's story. I have been reading this series since the beginning. 2021 updated review, had been Re-reading the series in anticipation of a long awaited new release, Sanibel Prince, which has since been canceled by the publisher. Still worth the re read.
I have read this series and Captiva's in literally three days. How I did, I will never know. Especially considering the readability of these books. By far this one was probably the worst written. I'm sorry, gotta be truthful. It needs to be re-worked in a very big way. The flow, hell, it doesn't flow. Descriptive scenes had me scratching my head going, huh???
A fantastic idea, but needs a lot of work to flow better. I've read that Tatum is weak in this book as a heroine. Yes, and no. However, realistically she was coping with her previous relationship and being thrown into a more complex relationship. At times I felt Jayce and Bren were written in a way that coerced her into being with them, but then you get bits of pieces telling you there was something between them way before her ex Troy. I just couldn't grasp how it was brought about at first.
The first book was basically a rough draft version that has promise. Not a bad series, I just tend to wonder if this is not the authors first language. But don't get me wrong, I got the gist of the book, and it's not bad. It needs something more to make it more polished.
Bren and Jayce have a natural, or supernatural, desire to mate with Tatum. She was around them in high school, they freaked her out with their aggressive dominance and she ran away. She was married for 10ish years to a jackass of a husband and now she's single again. My question is what is it about Tatum that draws the Alpha, Jayce, and seemingly every other male? I don't know maybe it's just me but I couldn't connect to Tatum. She's all badass and strong one moment and the next she's giving up her fight and control. I also think that Jayce and Bren tricked her by using her body against her to get what they wanted. That trick works in the short run, but usually has a shelf life - wait maybe that's just for us mere morals. Gotta say that I did like Renee, Tatum's sister, and Tatum's granny. Maybe I will continue with this series just to give Renee's story a go but at this point I'm undecided if I want to invest the time.
So, this book is not as good as the others lead me to believe. The POV has to be the most confusing thing ever. It does not just jump from person to person each chapter but each paragraph is a different persons POV. Many times I had to reread what was on the page to figure out which character's head I was in. Then it did not really matter because all the males in the book were thinking the same thing... This book also left you confused through the whole first half wondering how these people know each other and why the heroin in the book would ever think these two guys loved her?
The authors other books may be better but I do not think I could muddle through another one. I would recommend skipping this particular book the werewolf genre has many others to read.
Oh and if you are looking for menage try Sophie Oak Nights in bliss.
This girl haven't been back to her hometown in a long time and there were two guys waiting patiently for her (Not easy, though) and she returned for her sister's wedding. She was divorced and she went through hell especially how her ex husband treated her which left her with shattering self-esteem. Even though she has been working on it herself, it definitely helps with both guys who wanted to take care of her and treat her much better than her ex husband.
I enjoyed the book but sometimes I get confused on this and that. So I couldn't give it more stars as I do like the storyline... But how it was written - I think it could be better (Sorry :( ). I'll still read the next book though as it includes a vampire in that one so I'm looking forward to that.
Oh, I won this book through a scavenger's hunt. Thanks :D
The start to this book is terrible. It is written poorly and is very confusing with sections of an past or future event (not obvious) scattered throughout. The men being werewolves is introduced abruptly about 20% in with no previous hinting at it, which left me feeling 'what?' and then some unexplained and apparently all pervasive psychic skills - everything from telekinesis to mind control. Bizarre Well it did finally get slightly better and I am unsure whether I will read more. Once all the ridiculousness was introduced you were able to concentrate a little more on the story which helped. Certainly not a great book but not a complete and utter disaster either.
Imagine you clueless to the sensual and being used by her, Tatum, ex-husband to make money over the internet. Enter two of the hottest men she has ever known, Jayce and Bren, and they want her for their mate.
Finding out their werewolves and she part needless to say it is shocking news. While getting her ready for mating by wooing her in steps a truly demented female that wants Jayce and Bren for her own.
The sex is so hot and steamy. I got hooked on Taylon Scott and her steamy series this being the first one is a must read if you want scorching hot sex along with a story
I really liked the story - a super hot paranormal menage with exceptionally well endowed men. It's not Proust or anything but it is my kind of story. That said, some of the story errors are distracting. How do they go from making a huge deal out of a seafood allergy and then one of her guys is feeding her salmon in like the next chapter. But it was fun and erotic and I will definitely read the others in the series.
It has potential to be a good series, but the jumping around between scenes and characters is a no-go for me. I don't think I will be reading the others in the series, but I don't know. Maybe the author has grown since the first book? But yeah, if I didn't think this story line had potential I would have rated it one star.
I loved this book, I don't know why I've never written a review because I've read it several times. I've got all of Talyn Scott's books except for Panther Crossing. She writes great PNR erotica. Her books are fast paced but always a good read in IMHO. The plots are on a continuing arc so should be in order. I gave this 4 stars for grammar issues. This was a great debut novel. Happy reading.
I didn't really know what to expect going into the book but I was thoroughly delighted. The characters were likeable and entertaining and I loved the romance. It was done very well. Jayce and Bren are the perfect dominant alphas. I really liked Renee's character. I'm so excited to read the next book. At the end I was freaking out a bit and it was really exciting but all is fair and well in the end. Its a must read for any romance lover.
Talyn Scott has the potential for a great story teller. This books kept my interest, but the poor transitions across time and between POVs had me constantly rereading sections to figure out who was talking or thinking. She had one of my major violation in organization: keeping track of who is in a scene and misnaming characters.
Contains mild bondage, mild exhibitionism, sex toys, vampirism, m/f/m menage amour and suspense.
Got mixed feelings on this one...the story/sex is smokin' hawt, but the beginning jumps around so much I kept getting confused. I'm gonna continue with the series, and would recommend to anyone looking for a naughty werewolf read :)
Love this series. The author is great at bringing the characters out pairing them up as great ménage & mixing vampires/werewolves/mixed blood/ etc. There were times I laughed or giggled. Times I needed a big cold glass of water...to pour over my head to cool off. Times that had me at the edge of my seat. But every book kept me interested from first page to last plus wanting more.
Love this series. Alpha males, steamy sex, woman finds love and destiny with two alpha werewolves. Werewolves Jayce Jordan and Bren Walker have to convince Tatum Shirley that she was meant for them. Tatum's ex husband Troy wants her back for other reasons, not for love. Ms Scott delivers a great new series that will leave you reaching for a glass of cool water.
too much sex not enough plot. main characters developed but secondary characters aren't. the milieu is not well developed either....just bits and pieces. good story but very dominant and submissive at all levels. I don't mind it in the bedroom. I do mind it when all of someone's choices are removed.
This is my first paranormal romance and wow! I always love a good erotic romance but the dominance and ware power was awesome. I loved the relationship between Jayce, Bren, and Tatum. The chemistry was off the charts and their love was even greater. A well written and worthwhile read.
