Secret Shame

"Secret Shame" is the story of the most important relationship in a young girl's the relationship with her best friend. "Secret Shame" continues the journey of Trek Baden first introduced in "Premature Pleasures". In "Secret Shame", Trek's family has moved from the inner-city to Missouri City, a suburb of Houston, Texas, where Trek meets Rhodee, a 14-year-old neighbor who is dating a 21-year-old guy. Rhodee regularly skips school and loves to smoke weed, but she is carrying a secret. Trek and Rhodee stumble badly in their immature attempts to handle Rhodee's problem. Only after a passionate teacher intervenes is hope built, but not before the truth levels Rhodee's world.

Alexus Rhone is a young adult author devoted to candidly exploring teen/young adult issues through fiction. Her books include Premature Pleasures; Secret Shame; Backseats and Bleachers: A High School Love Story; and Cover The Coo.

A member of the Society for Children Book Writers and Illustrators, Alexus holds a Bachelor of Journalism/Public Relations degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Theology (Theology and The Arts) degree from Fuller Seminary in California. Her primary residence is in Indianapolis, IN.
