Wiccan-Were-Bear #2

A Flash of Fang

Rate this book
A Flash of Fang is the follow up novella to A Curve of Claw and joins Elizabeth, Ash, and Axe several months into their married life. Bad dreams stalk her from the darkness and leave her with a sense of foreboding. When the fall mating heat comes upon her husbands, the only thing she can think of is how dangerous her life is and how unfair it is to bring a child into their world. Ash and Axe reassure her that they will keep her safe at any cost, but her fears are only compounded by their earnestness. When her husbands have had enough of her keeping secrets from them, they become creative in getting her to talk.

This book contains M/F/M interaction and is intended for mature audiences only. Warning: this title contains more were-bear and witchy loving, office loving, nipple biting, wandering fingers....and enough ice to cool things down.

A quick catch up with Elizabeth, Ash and Axe a few months after their mating and subsequent marriage. There’s talk of what the future could hold for this family and yes that could include a Wiccan cub or two of their own. Elizabeth is uneasy, plagued by dreams and yet trying hard not to let her mates know anything is wrong. Yes good luck with that Elizabeth because you mated two very curious and determined bears !
As with the previous book this moves along at a fair old pace . I have to say that Ash and Axe can get very creative when it comes to their mate so yes do expect lots ( too much ?) of sexy times. There is a little more plot this time with things on the periphery but it’s primarily a chance for the author to give this trio a happy ever after so be prepared to end with a smile on your face

This was the follow up novella to a Curve of Claw. Elizabeth and her two husbands, Ash and Axe are settling in and adjusting to their new lives together. The passion between these three remains smoking hot and the love is so unconditional.

R.E. Butler has created wonderful characters that I look forward to reading about. There are a few characters from this book whom will hopefully have books of their own: Jesuit, Daeton, Shy and Tech. I look forward to more alpha male shifter romances from this author.

Better than the first, but very much an intermediate book—half a lead-in to book 3 and half wrapping up book one (and maybe setting up a future/second generation book). I was irritated that she had to give up her life and position in order to have a happy future. How cliche that a woman can't be powerful, have a happy marriage and children.

What a great way to end her story. And a good way of introducing the next story.
They are a united family. Her protectors are still jealous and possessive, but I love that.
Will continue to read as I want to know what happens to their little sister.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!!
A Flash of Fang gave me all the cozy newlywed vibes… with a side of danger and deeply emotional growth. Watching Elizabeth navigate fear and uncertainty about bringing a child into such a wild world felt real and tender. And her connection with Ash and Axe only deepened—those guys are so protective and loving, it’s impossible not to swoon. I loved that the steamy bits were balanced with heart and healing, and the dreams added a delicious little mystery thread. It felt like a slice of intimate life after the big “I do,” but with magic and fangy fun, of course.

A long time between book one and this follow on about Elizabeth, Ash and Axe.
Interesting and enjoyable story but though Elizabeth is more likable, her double standards are annoying. Elizabeth is keeping secrets but is expecting her husbands to tell her everything.
Did like the fact that there was some growing up happening by Elizabeth, long overdue.
Really enjoyed the twist with Daeton and what is going on with her.
I have owned this book for many years and have read and reviewed it a long time ago but reviews submitted from the back of books seem to be missing.

And the men are not without their means of getting the truth out of her. But is the bear ready for what she knows? Changes and death will come to the clan.

Loved the continuation of this bear/wiccan relationship.

I really loved the ending with a short glimpse into their entire lives.

again the most painful part was just how damn short these stories were. Drives me insane given how good the writing was and it was such a unique take on the shifter romance.

Magic and shifters combine to create a rich world

Interesting interaction between were-bears and Wiccans with a brush of Native American culture make this series an enjoyable read for readers who want to focus on explicit sex scenes and strong heroines. The danger and threat to their lives are treated as background to the focus on the relationship between the main character and her mates.

Human married to twin Shifters, well I know I'm jealous

This story is an easy read. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves were-bears, and good witches, and lots and lots of twin were-bear on wiccan wife loving.

This book actually, in my opinion, was even better, which is very surprising considering that this novella is shorter than its former counterpart, A Curve of Claw. The first book was geared more towards the character development and the development of Elizabeth and her husbands' relationship. There was not a ton of action, which didn't bother me because I just loved it so much. It was a more character-driven story while this one ended up being more of a plot-driven story.

In this one, we see Elizabeth being very unsettled about something. She is having bad dreams, which she will not share with either Ash or Axe, and because of those dreams, she isn't sleeping. She is just so tired all of the time. We also see Elizabeth thinking about kids and wanting to have them with her husbands. But this all ties into one central and big plot line that was definitely action-packed and very interesting.

There are definitely still sexual scenes in this novella, and there are some really great couple scenes with all of them. It is slowly revealed as to what is causing all of her bad dreams, why she is so unsettled, just everything that has been building up in the novella. I really did enjoy the plot once it was finally revealed, and it was just super interesting because it definitely was not what I was expecting, but it was still great nonetheless.

I also just really loved seeing the focus on family and having children. That was super prominent within this novel, and it definitely was a subplot, and it just really made the story come full circle. I loved seeing Ash and Axe with kids (I swear to you that there is nothing sexier than a man that is great with kids), and I just knew they would be fantastic fathers. And Elizabeth really wanted kids, which I also really loved seeing. She was just so concerned with how they would be raised because she wanted their lives free of danger, and that really showed through with this novella.

Overall, I really loved the intricate plot, the amazingly developed characters, and R. E. Butler's simplistic, but great, writing style. I just really enjoyed this second book, and I really want to read more books by her.

Elizabeth must protect her ware-bear den from evil. All the while deciding what her place is within the coven and her feelings on having a child.

A Flash of Fang is the sequel to a Curve of Claw. It is a fantastic book and even better than the first book. With out me giving too much away. Elizabeth is struggling to balance her life at the Wicca store, being one of the four corners of the coven and starting a family with Axe and Ash. While Elisabeth thoughts and concerns are dealing with her own personal problems, Someone is attacking the were-bear den. Elizabeth contacts her spirit guide who shows her how in the traitor among them and then embarks on a journey where she has to say goodbye to a member of her family. Once Elisabeth sorts out the attack from outside forces then she finally can sort out her own personal issues and decisions. Well written and a great story…leaves me hoping for a third book.

Book Overview: : A Flash of Fang is the follow up novella to A Curve of Claw. Elizabeth, Ash, and Axe are happily married, but Bad dreams keep Elizabeth awake all night & haunt her all day, leaving her with the sense that something dark is to happen. To add to the mix mating season is upon them & Elizabeth can't decided her feeling about having a child & isn't to keen to share her worries with the boys.

3.5
A Flash of Fang was enjoyable & I read the whole thing easily in one sitting it had the same fire, passion & fun as the first,I was tempted to bump it up to 4 but in my mind the first was better therefore it got 3 stars.
As I stated in my review of the first book Butler's writing is amazing...I can't get over it, she could write a story with the most boring plot & chracters but still make it woefully interesting (I'm not implying this was boring or anything).
I was a little dissapointed that the relationship didn't build up as much as I expected, I really wanted to read more about Ash & Axe's relationship, as well as Elizabeth & the Boys separately.

Now I'm off to read A Price for a Princess, which looks equally Naughty.

So...Ive jumped a bit around on this series and am sorta starting over. I actually read book one awhile ago when it first came out. Then forgot about the series for awhile and learned there was more. For some reason...maybe because it was free at the time I read A Slash of Savagery book 8...then wait for it....I bought book 9 and started reading like half of it then I quit because I felt I was missing a whole lot. So, I put that off as well and started reading this one and I am going to go in order so I dont feel all weird about it. Needless to say I did enjoy this and seriously I feel better because some of the things I've read in the book 8 and 9 start to make sense...I know right? Anyways, as much as I enjoyed this I found Elizabeth has realized she made some mistakes in regards to the men she was with. Not that she was with them necessarily but that they've grown to care about her more than she did them. I know she never meant to hurt them and things happen for a reason. She's still got remorse though. She was pretty young so its understandable and a good lesson. It bothered me how she kept things from Ash and Axe when she expected them to tell her things that bothered them. Double standard. She was punished for that bit though but in a good way haha. Anyways, she took responsibility for her actions past and present and promised not to withhold stuff anymore. Look forward to the next book!

With bad dreams stalking her nights, Elizabeth can’t help but feel apprehensive, but she tries to keep it from her mates and Ash and Axe will have to get creative to get her talk in this riveting paranormal follow up to A Curve of Claws.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with lots of suspense and romance. The story comes to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and suspense draws the reader deeper into the story as they wonder just what is troubling Elizabeth, especially as she has two hot bears that cherish her.

The passion between Elizabeth and the twins is as hot as ever and the frequent super hot sex scenes including menage and anal sex scenes is a testament to that fact, but emotional issues and nightmares are keeping Elizabeth from enjoying life. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the suspense of the situation, especially as her mates try to help her work things out in very creative ways.

This quick and passionate read covers quite a bit of Elizabeth’s new life and the tough decisions that she has to make, but it also includes some magical excitement that affects the den and the coven which adds spice and drama to the story. A side note, I really enjoyed the truly wonderful HEA epilogue at the end of the story, which gives readers a glimpse of Elizabeth, Ash and Axe’s future.

When I read the starting book in this series, A Curve of Claw, I had mixed feelings about it. I had a few misgivings with the author's writing style, but I know every writer grows the more they do it. So I felt it was only fair to try the next one, just to see if anything changed for me. Guess what? I am glad I decided to read this 2nd novella.

The characters of Elizabeth and her mates, Axe and Ash, return in this next tale. I was very satisfied to see more of the back story I felt missing from book 1, was included. We are given a better insight into the witch coven and some of what they do. The same with the culture and traditions for the were-bear den, plus more specifically the family Elizabeth has become a part of. Having these details explained better is what helped bring the story more into focus for me. It made everything feel a bit more 'real'.

As with book 1, there is still a high context of mature imagery. Very well written...and very steamy. However, I felt less awkward with those scenes in this novella due to having a better understanding of the characters and the moments are more to pace with the flow of the story. This was a nice improvement in the reading experience for me. I can now say that I am fully intrigued with the concepts and potentials for further additions to this series. I truly do look forward to reading more. :)

This is book 2 in the series and we are back with Elizabeth, Ash, and Axe. They have been married for several months now and the mating heat is about to come on. Elizabeth has been having a hard time sleeping lately. She just has a bad feeling that something is not right and she can't figure out what it is. This has her thinking about how dangerous being in the Coven is and if she is going to have a baby she is thinking that leaving the Coven will be the best thing.

During a Celebration with the Were-bears Elizabeth finds a way to find out what her bad feelings are about and it is not good. There is a plot against someone close to her and a traitor in the were-bear den.

My opinion: I'm glad that book 2 didn't automatically go to someone else's story. Honestly I was hoping that there would be more with Elizabeth, Ash and Axe. I absolutely love the part when she draws out the traitor, definitely a huge bit of magic being used there. I love the three of them together. I think that it is great how attentive the were's are with their mates. Again some great hot scenes along with some betrayal and Drama thrown in makes it a great book! I look forward to the next book in the series as I can't wait till the other male were's find their mates.

Sequel to A Curve of Claw

After the exciting and unexpected events in the earlier story, “A Curve of Claw,” life ought to settle down-at least a little bit, and for a little while. Generational (“natural”) young witch Elizabeth and her mates Ash and Axe think they have their various situations under control. Life for them as a set, and for their were-bear den, is blooming. However, as we all know, whenever life is going too smoothly, trouble is usually lurking just around the corner. Ash and Axe are subtly hinting about the fall mating season approaching, even though their intent is not to pressure their mate. Elizabeth’s real difficulty, though, is the bad dreams she’s persistently having. She can’t remember content, but she can certainly remember the awful feelings these dreams cause-and really, if trouble is coming, this is sure no time for her to think about starting their family.

Readers who enjoyed “A Curve of Claw” will continue to revel in the heartwarming characters, their mixups and joys, and the sizzling sensual intimacy of their relationships. Both these stories are very inspiring (and very hot), and will leave readers happy that they chose these to read.

A Flash of Fang (Wiccan-Were-Bear, #2)
by R.E. Butler

A Flash of Fang is the follow up novella to A Curve of Claw and joins Elizabeth, Ash, and Axe several months into their married life. Bad dreams plague Elizabeth being a wiccan she knows that one of two things could be causing this. She does not ant to tell her mates yet they can feel that she is not telling them all of the truth. So they take matters into their own hands. They love their wife and will protect her with their lives.

This book is hot M/F/M with a fantastic plot. Page turning, hot book! I really enjoyed this book and seeing how the 3 of them work on their marriage and all the paranormal that is in their lives. These 3 are such great characters that you really wish to get to know them, this book brings it all to the reader. You can't help but want to read book 3 at the cliff hanger this book leaves you with. Wonderful story telling, this Author is a Must Read.
