Studio Ironcat's first graphic novel collects the first volume of the wildly popular and hilariously zany manga Futaba-kun Change! All six issues are reprinted in one spiffy volume.
In 1994, together with YANO Kentaro, founded the quarterly magazine "Comic Will".
His real name is TAMOGAMI Yoshihiro (田母神 慈宏 [よしひろ]). Other than the pseudonym Aro Hiroshi (あろ ひろし), which is his main pen name, has two others that he uses, namely BUTTER Ken (ばたぁ 健) and KATAIMAI Rahito (片今 羅人).
He always depicts himself in his manga as an alligator.
He was the assistant of AKIMOTO Osamu and KATOU Tadashi.
Futaba-kun Change is the story of a young boy at school who goes into the bathroom to look at a girlie-mag his friends have given him to look at. He gets excited, dizzy, feels strange, and ends up turning into a girl!
Not quite your normal run of events. It seems that his entire family has a genetic arrangement which causes them to change sex when they become excited.
So now Futaba-kun must deal with being Futaba-chan (an incredibly beautiful girl, by the way), and his mates from the school wrestling team which decide they want Futaba-chan on the team also!
This is one of the most under-appreciated and under-known anime of all, in my opinion. Fortunately, though, it's started to be issued in comic book form in the U.S. It seems the translations are pretty faithful to the tankobons except for some U.S.-type cussing.
The storyline seems to become somewhat stranger as the series goes on.
