Powerful, immortal, magikal and cursed to the shadows of the night...
Gordon O’Caha, a seven-hundred-year-old druid sorcerer, fell in battle centuries ago. When he recovered, he found he wasn't as he'd once been, purely magik. He was much, much more. Now, he shares his body with darkness - a demon gifted to him by the blood drinkers he'd been attacked by. His family and clan haven't turned their back on him. It’s Gordon who has shut himself away from them. This hardened man does what he has to in order to survive - he drinks blood, feeds his sexual lust and exists. Nothing more. That is, until a sassy slip of a woman careens into him on the street, spilling her hot coco all over his groin. It’s literally hotter than he can handle. The minx isn't what she appears to be and when her secrets are revealed, so is a dangerous plot.
Chelsy Riley is doing her best to get by. Her grandmother’s passing left her without family and with a tiny used bookstore to run. She thinks it’s as hectic as it can get. When she slams into a sexy, gruff man who seems oddly out of time and place, she learns what secrets her past holds and that her future is full of endless possibilities. That is, only if she doesn't become a sacrifice for dark mages.
WARNING: This book contains hot, explicit sex and violence explained with contemporary, graphic language.

A cursed druid, a cocoa‑spilling bookshop owner, and enough sexual tension to melt the snow off the Highlands.
Winter Solstice gives us Gordon O’Caha — the grumpiest, blood‑drinking, demon‑sharing druid in the entire clan — and I adored every broody, self‑punishing second of him. Seven hundred years old, cursed, immortal, and convinced he’s too monstrous to be loved… which of course means fate immediately throws a tiny, sassy human woman directly into his lap. Or, more accurately, into his groin. With hot cocoa.
Chelsy Riley is exactly the kind of heroine this series thrives on: stubborn, sweet, tougher than she looks, and absolutely not prepared for the supernatural mess waiting to pounce on her. She’s running a used bookstore, grieving her grandmother, and doing her best to keep her life together — until she crashes into Gordon and everything she thought she knew about her past, her magic, and her future gets flipped on its head.
Their chemistry is instant, chaotic, and full of that “I should walk away but I physically cannot” energy. Gordon’s darkness meets Chelsy’s warmth in a way that feels both combustible and strangely tender. And when the danger ramps up — because of course it does — the story leans into action, secrets, and a plot that puts both of them in the crosshairs.
This novella delivers exactly what the Druid series promises: • a tortured immortal who desperately needs a hug (and a therapist) • a heroine who refuses to be sacrificed, sidelined, or silenced • magic, danger, and a demon with terrible timing • heat, heart, and a romance that hits fast and hard
It’s quick, fiery, and full of that Mandy M. Roth blend of humor, heat, and supernatural drama. A perfect addition to the series — and Gordon’s redemption arc is chef’s kiss satisfying.
Yooooo !!! Rtc!! 700 years without giving someone a CP means that the first one you give to someone must be your mate. Gordon knew what’s up !! He needed to give it all up in Chelsea’s guts!!
Tell me why it is soo hardcore for a man to be soo obsessed with his mate. I love that these brothers and cousins are finding love!!
I am very happy to see that a fancy man, a vampire/Druid and a badass witch are finding there forever.
Also, baby Gordon meets this Bonny lass Chelsea while she is walking down the street and she spills hot chocolate on his lap. It is so great to see a change in the normal Druid hiding life to the vampire ways and it was fireeee !!!
From what I can tell this would have been a much better read for me if I hadn't started right in the middle of the series. In all fairness, I had never heard of this series or author until this book, and I wanted a little taste to see if it was something I would even like.
For such a short read it was set up wonderfully with their little meet-cute moment and how they progressed to her bookshop, but I just felt a little confused with everything that Gordon O’Caha was. Again, because I didn't read the other books.
He was tall, dark and delicious with fangs what is not to like?
Mason Lloyd's narration was just okay for me. I felt like his accents kept getting muddled between a couple and he was supposed to be a highlander.
All in all, an interesting read that makes me curious about the entirety of the series.
Just the perfect mix of old and new in this quick little holiday tale. I love that we got to see another druid find the one meant to tame him. The author kept the intensity with this book while adding an air of lightness to it. I enjoyed how Chelsy managed to hold her own and was decisive in her feelings towards one so established. Okay old, but when you’re immortal everyone else is considered young. The author delighted me with her snark and sass, and the teasing, interference of family at its finest. This book was perfect for the holiday and the series and I am looking forward to what this author has coming in the new year.
Winter Solstice is the third in the Immortal Highlander series. It's a cute little story, but was pretty short and felt rushed. I would have loved a chance to learn more about the characters and to know more about what happens after, like the epilogues after the first two books. Mandy Roth often updates and expands her stories, and I hope that happens with this story, as well. This is also included in The Druid Series: An Immortal Highlander Box Set: (Books 1-3), which is a fantastic deal for all three books.
nothing really happened which was annoying cuz the premise was decent. not worth the price for how little there was and the lackluster ending. I'm not someone who demands something for nothing, I'm not someone who thinks all novellas should be a dollar, I just want to get an actual decent story on the occasions when I have money to spare to actually buy a book. The only reason I'm giving it two stars because I think my crankiness over wasted money might be overwhelming my judgment.
Fun and fast paced, this story kept me flipping pages and focused solely on it. It was sexy and entertaining, though I feel like the problem with the dark mages and the mystery of Chelsy’s bloodline was left unfinished. I matter though, because it ended in a way that was satisfying enough for me.
This is a novella, but it doesn't lack in substance. Gordon is a druid vampire and he's a bit dark, or melancholy maybe is the word. Chesly spills not chocolate on him and invites him back to her shop to get cleaned up. I liked them both, they are great characters.
Gordon is a Druid and was bitten centuries ago by a vampire and feels his life is dark now. He bumps into Chelsy and is immediately drawn to her. Dark magic hunters are after her and now she has Gordon to protect her. I highly recommend this book it’s a quick read.
Yay to the ghost of the grandmother bring them together. The power of the druids books helping him with losing danger was coming and she doesn't know that she a powerful witch.
This was an great 3rd book I loved Gordon and Chelsy they were a great couple to go to next and it shows that the O'caha clan can get a little dark, and says something for the next book. This was a most read book and I loved it I cannot wait for the next book.
Winter Solstice: An Immortal Highlander Novella (Druid Book 3) by Mandy M. Roth – Its probably a good thing that more people don’t meet the love of their life by tossing scalding hot cocoa on them in the street lol! Happy Holiday Reading!
sweet I loved this book it was short, sweet and to the point. I loved our hero and our sweet heroine. Plus we got to see some of our other characters too.
Can't wait to read more in this series so enjoying the storyline and the characters so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
The shortest of the first three books--dare I wonder if the author has improved over time? Anyhoo, I'm on to other things, and may read #4 at a later date
So short it was a waste. No depth to characters and cut off. Waste of money on all 3 in series. Inwoukd have liked to know more It was just meet kiss sex done
Gordon ... the third cousin who was tainted in a fight with a vampire. He's left the family fold, but Coyle and Korey are persistent.
His mate runs in to him on a snowy evening ... literally dowsing him with scalding hot cocoa :) She's clueless about her family line, and he steps up to protect her from evil Mages that are after her.
There's a bit of drama when he has to leave without a word because of daylight.
