Intimate Relationship Mizuki’s big lie gets even messier when her male alter ego starts dating Julia, the transfer student from America. Plus, a certain devious teacher targets Mizuki’s friend Nakatsu and levies charges that could ultimately get him kicked out of school! As she struggles to keep her cover and her cool under pressure, things heat up more than ever for Mizuki and her classmates.
Hisaya Nakajo (中条比紗也) was a Japanese shōjo manga artist. She also used the names Peco Fujiya and Ryou Fumizuki for doujinshi with her circle, Daisanteikoku.
The school trip was so much fun! Some sweet moments between Mizuki and Sano. Julia is so smart and so is Sano. They are very observant people (me too! Lol).. It’s nice knowing Sano feels the same about Mizuki. Just wish they would TELL EACH OTHER NOW!!! Lol. Then we had to deal with an a-hole teacher and Nakatsu being bullied. I’m glad that the boys stuck up for Nakatsu. Also, the reason the teacher was being a bitch made sense and he corrected himself at the end of it all lol. Then after all that this “modeling arc” started and ugh I don’t care for it. I hate the “modeling” world and all that!!! But I’ll stick out .. See you next volume! Lol
This volume is for sure is 90s shoujo manga chaotic. So it includes casual homophobia, sexism, and SA. I don't know... this one was just boring... I think I will skip to the final single volume to see how it ends cause I looked at reviews and they don't get together till the very end so. The biggest plus to me is the art, its very nostalgic to me.
Definitely didn't acknowledge the questionable nature of a random photographer recruiting a bunch of minors for a photoshoot without parental consent when I first read this.
5 stars because volume 7 was so funny. Volumes 8 and 9 weren’t my favourite, but the first volume in this omnibus was amazinggg; visuals and story were both good :)
Mizuki disguises herself as a boy in order to enrol in an all-boys boarding school. Why? To help inspire her idol, Sano, to high jump again.
(Though any traces of the high jump plot seems to have disappeared now...!)
This volume focuses on a school trip to Hokkaido, a photographer trying to get the boys to become male models, and a teacher who is much too strict.
I think I enjoyed this volume even more than the last one. All of the characters are growing and developing (particularly Sano and his feelings for Mizuki), and we also get introduced to an intriguing new character in the form of Hara the fashion photographer. I'm a little concerned as to where that plotline is going, as it seems a surefire way for Mizuki's secret to be discovered. Nakatsu is also growing as a character, and I think I kind of ship him and Julia a little. I don't know. Maybe because they're so similar.
I'm looking forward to learning more about Sano's family, though. The way things were set up I thought we were going to see a lot more of them in this volume, but other plotlines took over. I'm guessing his family will be explored in a later volume.
It's strange. This manga is nothing like I thought it was going to be going into it. I thought it was going to focus much more on Sano and the high jump, but it's much more focused around the school and friendships and, to be honest, I think it's much better for it. :)
