I love their cuteness, their wet noses, and how they make me laugh.
I can do without the meows at my bedroom door at 4am to be fed.... I can also do without the scraches on my door at 5am to be fed. I can also do without the banging on my doorknob at 6am as they beg to be fed....
(this is when I finally give in and just feed the fuzzy mooches :P )
But they are cats and I love them.
"Chicken Soup for the Soul: I Can't Believe My Cat Did That!: 101 Stories about the Crazy Antics of Our Feline Friends" was a cute read. It's something to keep on the coffee table and flip through when you have nothing to do... or... keep on the back of the toilet. It's very light. The stories are very short. And some will even put a smile on your face.
I did, however, wish that more stories were funnier. A lot of the stories were by the same people and just about different cats. This isn't a problem, but I think the person/people who put this book together rushed it a bit. 101 funny stories is hard to find, maybe if the book was cut down to 50 stories then I would have been more satisifed. Because some of them were 'meh'.
But seriously folks, telling me a funny story about a cat then telling me Mr. Jingles is dead is not a way to end a story that was supposed to make you laugh. I'd rather end the story with, "And that's why none of my bras have underwires in them... Mr. Jingles has some sort of crazy fetish that I've never been able to diagnose... and that's why I love him."
See! No reason to tell me that kitty is dead! The story ends and we laugh.
I sat and read this at work and I cried it did not matter who saw me and who did not I love all cats and I would call all cat lovers this will warm there hearts and let them see how they can change your life and make you a better person to really just go out and enjpy yourself.
As a cat lover, I enjoy stories not only from people I meet but also books! I admit that I stopped reading ‘chicken soup....’ books because there are just SO SO MANY!!!! I got burned out!
I found a discount on this one and noticed a slew of other chicken soup Cat Books! I sorta rolled my eyes inside but decided this one will give me something relaxing to read...
I’m not currently owned by any felines but have had a number over the years... even temporary visitors!
I think this book requires having a cat or experience with them because some stories seem over the top but I did not see it like that
I ENJOYED this book SO much that I would share summaries of stories and laughed out loud in public seeing the antics in my head being described!!
I loved that the stories were short and rarely sad!
Now, I want to read a few more Chicken Soup cat books..
It’s definitely the CATS MEOW and brings up many memories of our own feline friends/encounters of the past and present!
So bottom line, one chapter of writing this convey latter, this book is Purrrrfect!
As with most anthologies, some pieces are good and some not so good, leaving a feeling of ‘patchiness’ for the reader. None in this book are terrible but there were instances in some of the contributions that made me wince. Thankfully they were not so many of them, that they ruined the experience of reading this book.
I read this over a period of time. It set on my kitchen table and I would pick it up, morning, noon and night; reading a few of the 101 stories each time. I smiled, I laughed out loud and was sad at times. Enjoyable
Fantastic stories. Occasionally sad, but mostly funny and/or heartwarming. Conveniently in short snippets, in case you only have a few mins to read. I definitely recommend this for cat lovers.
For a cat lover living in stressful times, such a book adds joy and relaxation to my night time and let's my mind wander off to a playful kitty land. The stories were personal, sometimes ordinary, sometimes incredulous, sometimes heartwarming and even heartwrenching. One can't get enough of cat stories!
Absolutely a sweet book of stories. Each story took about 2 minutes to read and some stayed in my memory that long. Others lasted for days as I would tell friends about the antics of somebody else's cats. Good thing to read when you need a break and when you want to be reminded that there is good in the world.
This book was so many things - wonderful, hilarious, and at times painful and heartbreaking (which is the only reason it took me so long to read, and I'm glad to be done with it). I did love it though, and overall I feel it is a must read for any cat/overall animal lover. 💜🐈
Fun, charming, hilarious, sad, and thoughtful. A book of this type (one comprising a multitude of stories on the same subject) is something I always love to read. It doesn't get boring because the tales are short and there's always a new one around the corner. It also causes my emotions to jump up, slide down, and sometimes spin me until I'm dizzy, due to all of the varying feelings evoked by each individual cat and his or her antics. I own four cats and I've been called a Cat Lady many times, but you don't have to be a feline lover to find this book fascinating. I would bet that even "dog people" would discover that they could love a cat, too.
I absolutely loved this book! I read it every night to my cat, Oreo, and he loved story time. He would jump onto the ottoman and place his paws on the book telling me "story time mom!" When we finished all the 101 stories in this book I promised him I'd write him his own... (A Book for Oreo)
Oreo loved hearing the 101 stories of the special cats in this book. It was filled with humorous tales and had some real tear jerkers too.
This book would make a perfect gift and a great read for anyone who loves cats. (Cats like to hear the stories too!) Recommend!
So cute!!! These stories made me laugh and sometimes cry! It's so sweet to hear all of the stories about sweet little kitties that sometimes get into mischief!! If you are looking for a book to read while you are searching for another to get into- read this!! They are all short stories so it makes it easy to read a few pages and put it back down.. I also have the "Chicken Soup for the Soul: I can't Believe My Dog Did That!" and will be reading that soon!
This was the first time I have read a Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and I was impressed. This book was chock full of feel-good stories about cats and their hilarious antics. I sacrificed a lot of sleep staying up late reading these stories, it was just that good... Highly recommended for anyone who has, had, or who will be getting a cat in their life.
I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. This one is so so funny and also touching with some of the stories as they always are. I love cats and I really enjoyed reading this. These books are all written the same way, very easy to read, pleasant and heart warming. Excellent for anyone wanting to laugh and cry all at the same time and who enjoys cats.
Well, to all cat lovers out there, this book is definitely a treat for you. I am pretty sure most of us simply can relate with the events or actions caused by our friendly feline. Be it by accidents or coincidences, it attached strongly at the back of our mind. i've got nothing more to say and it is definitely 5 stars from me ;)
I loved this book. Anything to do with wonderful stories of our furry feline friends is enjoyable for me. Made me laugh out loud. I Gave this to my fellow cat lover, Sister, for Christmas and know she will love it as much as I did.
I enjoyed this book but not nearly as much as "Chicken Soup for the Soul: I Can't Believe My Dog Did That!". Cat lovers would certainly love this book.
