Very basic algebra review. I have completed math-intensive courses up to Calc 3 and some Calc 4 but I still learned some new tricks from this book to reduce the time I spend on each question, especially when factoring. Someone who is not strong in math would benefit from this book as Manhattan Prep presents the info in a very straight-forward way and I can see it really helping to boost confidence. It's probably 100-level college algebra. If you are scared of math, this is a non-intimidating introduction to the quantitative section of the GRE. I think the biggest benefit gained from this book would be the practice and internalization of 'clean up procedures' and manipulating the equations to solve for 1 and 2 variables. It is imperative that you have strong 'math manipulation' skills, which this book covers. The section on inequalities also provided me some valuable tips when working those problems. Some are kind of 'no brainers' but hey, sometimes the brain decides to take a vacation and we all need some gentle reminders and refreshers.

Equations, Quadratic Equations, Inequalities, Absolute Value, Formulas & Functions, Series & Sets are all covered. "Check Your Skills" problems throughout each chapter lets you immediately apply what you just read and reinforce that info. Problem Sets for each chapter give you a more formal homework assignment. Drill sets in Chapter 6 for each topic, and Chapter 7 is example Easy, Medium, and Hard practice question sets that mix topics.

A few typos which make doing math problems particularly nerve-wracking... Otherwise, challenging and good.
