This was interesting.

I liked the concept but I honestly just thought the book was poorly written for certain parts. I love the consistent connection of faithfulness and prayer but I honestly think this book just wasn’t edited. Not only were there mistakes in the writing that made it difficult to understand, there were also sentences that were literally copy and pasted about ten times through the book. I also think the sinking dynamics are out of touch and annoyed me, which is sad because her brother is so prevalent in the book.

I also think the ending being a marriage was wayyyyy too fast and a rushed ending that wasn’t necessary.

Back from Iraq, Tyler had reached rock bottom when he was offered a job at Second Chance Ranch.
His best friend, Paul was killed in Iraq and now he was trying to help Paul's brother, Riley accept help to understand Paul Death and cope with it. Really good story. The characters were well developed.

I liked this book, its the second book in the series. Beth, Tyler, Sophie, Ollie, Reilly, Zach, Ethan, etc are all great characters. This is a really good series. Starting over after being in war or being in a accident.

3 Stars ~ This romance is a continuation of Ms. Harris' book Second Chance Ranch in which our hero and heroine in this book were introduced. Beth is Zach's little sister from the former book and Tyler is a veteran friend of Zach's whose paths crossed while in Iraq.

Highly trained as a bomb specialist, Tyler lost his best friend, Paul in an explosion that spared him. Survivor guilt eats away at him, his only comfort is from a stray dog his team had befriended in Iraq and he'd brought home with him. After introducing himself to Paul's mother and younger brother, Riley; Tucker decides to stay on in Albuquerque to help. Bumping into Zach and learning about the equine therapy ranch, intrigues him, and after seeing what they do, he agrees to take on the job of temporary foreman with the hopes that the ranch could help Riley out of his depression.

Beth is a clothing line buyer for a clothing chain with their headquarters in Albuquerque. A job that often has her travelling the globe. But she always spends her spare time at the ranch. As soon as she sees the teen just slumping on a bench outside the stables, not a word only a grumble, she knows she's got to help him. And what's up with the survivor guilt cloud hanging over Tyler, she'll just have to do something about that too. Things begin when Tyler's dog allows Beth to pet him, something only an elite few are welcomed to do. Not only does this impress Tyler, but it's the opening Beth seizes on when the dog lets Riley pet him too. And maybe, helping Tyler and Riley, will help to ease some of those barriers Beth has built around her own heart.

Ms. Harris has written a lovely second story in her trilogy encompassing the issues of today's veterans. Tyler and Beth's best intentions on helping Riley have a few obstacles but it brings these two who have their own demons to overcome. The characters from the previous book bring a depth that often single titles have a hard time achieving. This is an enjoyable read of redemption and healing faith.

Fabulous story!! I loved the new characters, thought it was great to get to see the continuing story of characters from the previous book! I love the way the Lord is central in her stories and her characters are realistic, and amazingly intricate, and all so loveable! I can't wait to read the next one in this series!

It is always interesting when books like these have characters with darker pasts because they all tend to sound the same. But these are monthly subscription books so you get what you paid for with them. I do enjoy them though, they're good simple quick reads.

A sweet story about the trials faced by our returning military personnel and the strength it takes to love them.

Tyler and Beth meet at her brother and college room-mate's ranch. The ranch helps kids with disabilities and Vets recovering with equine therapy. Both have issues to work through.
