Kitab gözlədiyim kimi deyildi. Mən Debbie Macomber tərzində əyləncəli, şirin bir hekayə gözləyirdim. Amma əsər daha çox dram üzərinə qurulmuşdu və əyləncəli olmaqdan biraz uzaq idi. Yenə də sevdiyimi deyə bilərəm❤️

Əslində mən qış kitablarının o əyləncəli və axıcı havasını sevsəm də, həddindən artıq səthi (yüzeysel) işlənmiş mövzuları da çox sevə bilmirəm. Burda isə gündəlik yaşamımızda qarşılaşa biləcəyimiz 3 fərqli tipdə qadın obrazının həyatlarına və düşüncələrinə göz atmış oluruq və bu heç də səthi işlənməmişdi. Düzdü bəzi səhnələrdə nələrsə çox sürətlə baş verirdi, amma ümumi götürəndə qadınların keçdikləri o dönəm yaxşı işlənmişdi mənə görə.

Bea ən sevdiyim və hekayəsi ən hüzünlü olan obraz idi. Baxmayaraq ki, səhvlər etmişdi və itkilər vermişdi, yenə də ayaqda durmağa və həyatını yenidən yoluna salmağa çalışırdı. Övladı ilə münasibətləri, onunla bağlı hiss etdikləri çox səmimi gəldi. Real bir hekayə oxuduğumu hiss etdim. Onun qonşusu və dostu Sam isə ilk andan bəri sevdiyim bir obraz oldu və bir-birlərinin hər daim köməklərinə çatmaları çox sevimli idi.

Olivia haqqında tam bir fikrim yoxdur, yəni necə bir insan olması barədə. Çünki biz daha çox onun həyatının müəyyən hissələrinə şahid oluruq, xarakterini anlamaq üçün tam ooduğuna əmin deyiləm bunların. Amma onun yaşadığı evlilik qorxusu və bu zaman kəsiyində etdikləri də anlaşılabilən və real görünürdü. İnsanlara, xüsusən də Bea və Chloe'yə qarşı yaxşı münasibət və davranışları, sonda öz yolunu tapması və adətlərə və ailələrin fikirlərinə boyun əyməkdənsə evliliyini özünün xoşbəxt olacağı şəkildə qurmaq istəməsi xoşagələn idi.

Chloe isə başda çox da sevmədiyim, amma zamanla isindiyim bir obraz oldu. Yenə də verdiyi qərarların çox ani olduğunu və hələ tam bir fikrə gəlməyin onun üçün erkən olduğunu düşünürəm. Çəkdiyi yalnızlıq və bunun nəticəsində etdiyi yanlışlıqlar başadüşüləndir. Bir də onun hekayəsi sayəsində hadisələrə iki fərqli cəbhədə duran qadının gözündən baxmış olduq. Nə ilə bağlı olduğunu spoiler olar deyə deməyəcəm.

Amma əsər oxuduğum ən yaxşı gənc-yetişkin romanlarından biri olmadı. Baxmayaraq ki əsasən bəyəndim, yenə də sevmədiyim tərəfləri də oldu. Chloe obrazının evli qadınlar haqqında dediyi fikirlər məsələn. Gerçəkdə də bunun üzündən boşanmalar olduğunu bilirəm, amma bu, edilən şeyə haqq qazandırmır əlbəttə. Digər tərəfdən bayaq da dediyim kimi, üstündən sürətlə keçilən səhnələr olduğunu düşünürəm. O anlarda hər şey inanılmaz dərəcədə ani olmuş kimi gəlmişdi.

Qısacası, oxuduğum qış kitabları içində önərə biləcəyim bir kitab oldu❤️👌🏻❄️ hekayəsi dram ağırlıqlı irəriləsə də sonda üzünüzdə təbəssüm oyadacağını deyə bilərəm.

Christmas is a magical time, and in the fragrant atmosphere of The Honey Pot, anything can happen: new friends can be made, hearts can heal, and romance can finally blossom..

I discovered a new author. Amy Silver brought romance and friendship in one book without it being too corny, and the book actually had Christmas spirit! The Honey Pot sounds like a place I would go to in NYC and it warmed my heart even more.

The women are so different which was nice to read separate stories and yet have them combined. I read the book quickly and kept wanting to find out what happened next. I ate it like Taco Bell and it was yummy.

I also loved how the "bitch" was rescued by a dog.

Bea is the owner of The Honey Pot, a café that’s doing really well. It will be her first Christmas with her son and she’s going to try to make it a good one. At work she meets a lot of people, but she is closest to Sam, her neighbor. He’s a good friend and great company. She meets Olivia because of a small incident and they are getting along well. The same can’t be said for Chloe who isn’t very kind to them. She’s also having a relationship with a married man and Bea doesn’t approve of it at all. The three women each have their difficulties at the most festive time of the year and their Christmases might not turn out to be what they expected them to be…

Bea is kind and she’s a dedicated mother, but she has a past. She has done things she isn’t proud of. The same goes for Chloe and Olivia. They find strength with each other eventually, but it takes a while for them to get a connection. I liked how they formed a bond. It wasn’t immediate and it wasn’t forced. The three women each have their own story. I liked the different points of view. It made me curious and eager to read more. I loved that this book is about friendship and love.

All I Want for Christmas has a wonderful festive vibe. It’s a realistic story about people who don’t have ideal holidays. I liked that about this book. It was refreshing and hopeful. I really enjoyed reading this story and definitely recommend it to people who are looking for a good, romantic Christmas read.

I absolutely adored this book. What a fun, heart-warming tale to warm the cockles at Christmas. I thought the cover was gorgeous too – snow and twinkly lights and a cosy deli called The Honey Pot – I just wanted to step straight into the cover of the book.

All I Want for Christmas is about three women in their 30′s: Bea who owns The Honey Pot which is renowned for it’s scrumptious Italian food (she bought it with her Italian husband Mario, who is no longer on the scene) and she lives there with her toddler son, Luca, and is trying to rebuild her life. Olivia is a journalist and newly engaged to Kieran and appears to be getting cold feet about marriage, and Chloe is a high-flying lawyer who is having an affair with a married man and is very lonely on account of her rather sharp tongue. The three women fall into each others company accidentally and find theirselves involved in each others lives without realising it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book; so much that I wanted to go on reading it when it was over. It was the perfect book for this time of year and has certainly helped get my December off to a festive start

I didn't expect a random book I got at the library sale to be exactly what I needed right now.
It is a cute story about 3 women whose life's get entangled shortly before christmas because the keep meeting at a café. It is about family, love and doing things your way.
It also dipped in on some deeper topics... some of them were handled quite shallow though.
Overall no masterpiece but an enjoyable read that brought me into the christmas spirit! And that was all that I needed it to do :)

This was a really lovely cosy Christmas read. It's set in the run up to Christmas Day based at the Honeypot cafe where 3 girls become 3 friends. It had everything from humour to sadness but I really enjoyed it and thoroughly recommend it should be on your festive reading list.

A Christmas chick lit that was heart warming, but also very sad at times. While it's easy to warm up to Bea & Olivia, it does take a little while to get there with Chloe.

I've used the word cute to describe my last two festive reads and I'm going to have to use it again here! It is cute! Gets you in the Christmas spirit.

The coffee shop name did make me chuckle. Not sure if the author did any research on that name, but it's also the name of a chain of strip clubs.

Not much time left to hit the festive reads before Christmas is over, I'd give this one a go if you have time!

I was feeling the need to have some Christmas cheer and while looking on my bookshelves found All I Want For Christmas … which had been a gift last year and had remained there waiting for me to re-discover it!

We start to get involved in Bea, Olivia and Chloe’s lives from 14th December. The scene is set in The Honeypot – we get to know Bea, a little about her customers and the fact that there is something troubling her. Chloe is a business woman and is one of the demanding customers waiting in a long queue.

Olivia comes on the scene next. She writes a column in a number one glossy style mag although her honest review of a product could possibly lose her the job. When Bea brings her into The Honeypot after the accident she sits her at Chloe’s table. Somehow their purses are swapped and so begins the weaving of the tale.

Bea is hiding heartache and a secret that is huge. Chloe is a bitch who comes across as very shallow – although of course, there are always reasons behind our behaviours … and Olivia is an organiser (yes, she has a journal used solely for the purpose of lists) and scared of commitment.

We get involved in their lives until the end of Christmas Day.

All the characters have depth and substance making it very easy to lose yourself in this world. There is no time to be bored as the reader becomes involved in all three lives as they become friends. Even though Chloe starts out as the bitch, we get to see her unwind and relax. She has to be my favourite character because yes, she grows into the woman she is meant to be. The party in The Honeypot on Christmas Day was just the right setting to display her tangled love life.

I wasn’t sure as I was reading All I Want For Christmas whether it was actually the right book for the mood I was in. I didn’t feel much ‘sparkle’ due to Bea’s heartache. That is no reflection on the story itself though as the author managed to provoke quite a depth of sadness in me in relation to Bea. I love a story that provokes intense emotions! But I most definitely had that ‘feel good factor’ once I had finished reading.

An easy read, All I Want For Christmas is book to snuggle up with on these long dark evenings to transport you away from the madness of the season.

Such a heartwarming book. Full of funny moments, sweet moments, sad moments and Christmas spirit. All I want for Christmas follows three woman with their lead up to Christmas. Bea owner of The Honey Pot is getting ready for Christmas with her baby son. Wanting everything to be right Bea struggles to juggle the cafe, Christmas planning ect especially when Bea has secrets of her own that are keeping her awake at night. Will she be able to come to terms with the past and enjoy the Christmas season?

Olivia has a high profile job, is planning a massive Christmas Day with all her partners family over from Ireland. But Olivia is suddenly knocked down by a rogue cyclist, gets engaged and finds comfort in The Honey Pot cafe with new friendship with Bea life is going in a much different direction then she had planned.

Chloe is a high flying socialite who is having an affair with a married man, she has alienated all of her friends and is extremely lonely. Although wishing to find solitude in The Honey Pot cafe and wanting to make friends with Bea and Olivia does not go according to plan.

Will hearts heal? Will Christmas be planned? Will friends form? Will romance blossom? And most importantly will the magic of Christmas transform theses three woman's lives?

I thought this book was very touching, extremely funny and wonderfully written. Lots of very touching moments and most importantly filled with Christmas cheer. A great book.

This was incredibly sweet without being saccharose stomach-turning.
The three main characters and what they're going through are much more believable than in your average Christmas chick lit. I mean, there's nothing I couldn't see happening possibly maybe to someone I know (I'm not telling you it's a realistic sorry either, but who wants a Christmas chick lit to be realistic, uh?).

Bonus points:
- if you're a foodie, Bea (the narrator, more or less) keeps reciting mouth-watering Italian recipes as a mantra, and the whole book talks of delicious food A LOT (to be fair, it made me hungry all the time!).

- if you're a dog person, there's the cutest Airedale terrier puppy who made me swoon each time he was mentioned!

All in all, if you're looking for a cute Christmas story, I'd definitely recommend All I Want For Christmas (stupid title, though).

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it such an easy read with great characters and excellent story line. Based around three different people and the run up to Christmas you have Bea who owns an Italian cafe and it's her first Christmas with her son and her partner has died but can she find love again and will she be happy. Then you have Olivia who has just got engaged and his whole family are coming over from Ireland can she cope with them all and does she think she has made a mistake. Then there is Chloe who is having an affair with a married man can she see it is wrong and find love with the right person. All three people get friendly through Bea's cafe. A really lovely Christmas read.

Well! Every so often you get lucky enough to find a book that you just can't put down and this was it for me.

It was such a lovely story and so easy to read. I absolutely loved it!

This definitely deserves an annual read and I will certainly be looking out for more Amy Silver books.

My only negative was there was a lot of spelling errors and missing words etc which was a bit annoying but it's not enough to knock any stars off. I was reading a first edition so these errors may even have been corrected in future prints.

I definitely recommend you read this book during December, it was a delight.

...Christmas is a magical time, & in the fragrant atmosphere of The Honey Pot, anything can happen: new friends can be made, hearts can heal, & romance can finally blossom... awwww, how sweet!

And it is a sweet tale without being too sugary, just a nice feelgood tale, no surprises it just does what it says on the cover & makes you feel warm inside. If you like Jill Mansell, Trisha Asley etc you'll lap this up. Not a fan of this style? Then it's probably best avoided ;o)

This is a strangely dispiriting read when compared to much of the Christmas fare published in this genre. It is my first festive read of the 2018 season and, to be honest, I couldn't have picked a better one to start with. Set against the forced jollity peddled to us on the television this is the story of 3 women who each have their own problems to deal with this Christmastime and sees them face up to them admirably.

This is my second Amy Silver book and what stands out for me is the realism and individuality of the characters. Each chapter is told from the perspective of one of the three women and even though the chapter heading tells us who is "speaking" the voices are so distinct that you automatically know once you have settled in to the book and got everyone straight in your head:

Bea - Clearly suffering with depression but doing her best for her infant son and trying to keep her business afloat as well. The mystery of her husband is solved about halfway through the book and I was relieved to know I had guessed the reason for her isolation correctly - not for Bea but for my own personal satisfaction you understand.

Chloe - Career focussed and in a dangerous relationship with an unattainable man. She wants everything to be perfect but seems to be losing herself along the way. After a drunken Work's Christmas Party she begins to reevaluate her life and her behaviour towards others.

Olivia - Very happy in her relationship but his whole family descending for Christmas makes her feel trapped and unsure if accepting his proposal was the right thing for her.

After chance meetings with each other at Bea's Cafe, The Honey Pot, the three women soon begin to form a tentative support network for each other. It is through this that we learn all about the characters as they slowly peel their personalities apart to admit things to each other that nobody else knows.

To be honest this would have been 5 stars but the ending with everyone getting a renewed chance at happiness felt a little off to me. Yes, I know it is a Christmas Story and, as such, a happy ending is to be not only expected but assured but it just left me all a little flat - possibly because I am the eternal pessimist who knows.

The plot pacing is excellent throughout and I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone - even if this is normally a genre you steer clear of.

All I Want for Christmas - Amy Silver

It's Bea's first Christmas with her baby son, and this year she's determined to do everything right. But there is still so much to do: the Christmas menu needs refining; her café, The Honey Pot, needs decorating; and she's invited the whole neighbourhood to a party on Christmas Day. She really doesn't have time to get involved in two new people's lives, let alone fall in love...

When Olivia gets knocked over in the street, however, Bea can't help bringing her into The Honey Pot and getting to know her. Olivia's life is even more hectic than her own, and with her fiancé's entire family over from Ireland for Christmas, she shouldn't be lingering in the cosy warmth of Bea's café. Chloe, on the other hand, has nowhere else to go. Her affair with a married man has alienated her friends, and left her lonelier than ever.

This is a fun heart-warming book that is perfect to read around Christmas. This book is different to most Christmas books in the fact that there is no Christmas miracle, in fact the characters actually deal with problems in realistic ways.

I thought this was a very enjoyable quick read. It is such a light-hearted book that it cannot fail to put you in a festive mood.

I have owned this book for over SEVEN (yes seven!) years and Christmas after Christmas would go by without me picking it up. Well, I decided to remedy that this year! It was an interesting read for sure, and not the “typical” Christmas romance story. I liked the interconnectedness of the three characters and how they went from random acquaintances to friends. I hated Chloe at first but she was a very well developed character and I grew to like her story arc the most of the three. It was a quick read too; I breezed through it in a single day. It had some sad moments but an overall hopeful message. I’m glad I FINALLY made the time for it.

It's the perfect book to read on Christmas while tucked under the blanket with some snacks. It is not unrealistically miraculous and no mysterious lady comes and fixes everything in the end. The characters are diverse and real, and deal with their problems in the most natural ways. Overall, it leaves you warm and happy, which is exactly how one must feel during Christmas. Would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this read. It had me gripped right from the start and despite being written from three different perspectives, the book flowed brilliantly.

I loved the characters and how their friendship progressed through the story, it really was a fab book. My first Amy Silver read and will definitely be reading the other books written by her.

I would have liked to have seen a follow on book to this to see how the three main characters lives progressed as they found their happiness.

The title of the book is attracting and the front cover of the book is catchy and justified according to the story. The plot of the story is hooking and captivating narrating style never lacked the grip of the story till the end anywhere. A perfectly compact and satisfying read for me. Bit of a Hallmark movie in a story. Decided to try this author as it's a pen name for Paula Hawkins (Girl on the Train) with a very different genre. Enjoyed it and the characters developed well. The Honey Pot, a local Cafe brings together 3 different women and the story evolves from there. No surprise that it's a happy ending for all, reference first sentence above. :)

Three women. 12 days to Christmas. A deli at the center of their togetherness. It takes less that two weeks for the lives to mesh, and to flow together. A woman cheated of life with her soulmate, piecing together a life for herself with her infant son. Can she believe second chances? A woman who has it all, a good man who has asked her to be his wife, a job she likes sometimes, wealth, family and charm. Yet, what is still making her hesitate to tie the knot? A woman who stops being a mistress, what is she without any strong ties? Meet the women and how they come together for each other. A Christmas story worth the read.
