It' so hot that it's become HAWT! I think I have to fan myself after I've read it... maybe go looking into some silk rope.... I'm also going to be blushing furiously the next time I get pulled over. I'll never look at police officers the same way!
It's a novella about Alex, a police officer with a "sexual" scar from his past, and a young women with trust issues, no family, and few friends. They meet when she gets pulled over by Alex while on her way to a date she has zero interest in. It's mainly just a favor for her one friend... and boy, oh boy, do sparks fly from the first moment they meet!
Pros: It's HAWT! Did I mention that yet? Like you're going to have to change your underwear after reading it HAWT! It's really got a plot, and characters... it's not just mindless BDSM porn put to paper. And it's hot!
Cons: Way too short! I want more! How hard would it be to talk my husband into trying some of this, I wonder....
It's a wonder, hot, fast read that you can squeeze in between books when you need a shot of good, hard sex! And looking at the boys in blue will never, ever be the same!

When Alex, the playboy police officer with skeletons in his closet meets shy & withdrawn Regan who does not know herself very well, sparks fly and hand cuffs are the ignitor for a very intense story with an incredible story line and plenty of heat to set a huge fire!
In this fast pace Novella by TC Lee, we enter the world of Regan who has a lonely past, a best friend that never has her own interest at heart and a set up date with a guy Regan feels is creepy. Due to her faithfulness to her best friend Kate, she agrees to go out with the creep friend of Kate's boyfriend, Jeremy. Regan knows deep down there is just something off about this guy but Kate is her best friend.
Running late as usual, Regan sees the blue and reds of a police car and knows she is BUSTED for speeding. She never expects a God of a man to walk up to her. She instantly realizes that this man may have what she has been missing her whole life.

Ive been reading tweets and what not else, and if you get into the storyline, you will find that it is actually about Alex's scars with something that happen to him when he was young. He has never completely been full on with a woman as he feared he would hurt her,( sexually )) due to his younger years and past experience !!! This will make more sense when you read the story ! IM NOT GOING INTO ANY MORE STORY DETAIL ..... just wanted to clarify this !!

Two people from different worlds collide, Regan shy and introverted and Alex hot to trot sexy Police officer meet out of a chance encounter - she gets done for speeding - and an instant attraction they both can’t deny.
Regan’s quiet demeanour is thrown out the window and she discovers what she has been missing all this time. Regan not only ignites Alex's loins but also titillates his inner beast. ! We are taken on a journey of discovery for them both with also murder, mystery and many intense sexy scenes present!! If you don’t like it hot, than this read is not for you!

Assume the Position is a novella about Detective Alex Shaw, an officer with a dark, mysterious past that he initially tries to keep hidden, and Regan Taylor a young woman who is very much a 'loner' and seems to lead a quiet life. Regan is stopped for speeding by Officer Shaw, and there is an instant attraction between them that leads to Regan being unable to get him out of her mind. Regan gets caught up in a problem that is not of her making, and as a result she is pulled closer to Alex and their relationship grows.
This was a well written story, that for a short novella, packed in a lot of detail and plot which I have often found missing in other short stories I've read. I thought the story flowed well and the author was able to include a good balance of romance, sex and mystery. I loved the slight twist in the story that saw Regan mixed up in some trouble with the police, (which I won't go into so as not to spoil the read for others), but thought it was a clever and interesting plot and certainly one I had not seen coming!. The relationship between Alex and Regan was very intense, and there were plenty of steamy sex scenes that left you needing a cold shower! Alex was a dominant, alpha type sexy guy, with a penchent for erotic play who, in Regan, had found his perfectly matched partner and they quickly grow to love one another.
There was a few editing issues, but this was minor and didn't detract from the story at all IMO. I am usually not a fan of novella's as I don't find them fulfilling enough, and normally not with enough content, however I was pleasantly surprised by this book as I found it ticked most of my boxes for a good read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend this to paranormal romance fans, who like a little 'kick' to their storylines!

Wow. I haven't read a lot of erotica, but chose this one because I love the writing style of the suthor. I was not disappointed! The story starts fast, kicks into gear and gives us what we want and expect right away (though not too soon that we don't have some knowledge of the characters personalities and motivations.)
If all horrible dates ended up like this...well, there would be a lot more excitement for horrible dates! And speeding, ha!
The sex was hot, with elements of lite BDSM. I'd say this is good for those of us that enjoy pushing the edge in our reading, but maybe aren't ready for the full fall. There was romance here, not just a sexual attraction. Both characters complemented and needed one another for different reasons.
Assume the Position was an amazing ride that left me red in the face, for several reason. I'll be reading it again! Highly recommended, five stars!

Such a steamy book it practically had my glasses fogging up! The characters share such a great connection right from the start. The only con against it was that it was too short! I wanted more.

Alex pulls Regan an over for speeding and there is an instant connection and attraction between the two. Regan is titilated by Alex's presence and commanding voice. Alex is captivated by Regan's innocence and honesty.
Their first physical encounter ends with Alex emotionally withdrawing from Regan. He believes that she is better off without him because of his dark predelections. Alex is also dealing with past emotional scars that make him unable to commit to a woman; even though his feelings for Regan are far different than he has ever felt before. Both of them leave their tête-à-tête believing that they will never see each other again. Regan, a virtual loner, is wrecked after her one-night affair with Alex. She cannot stop thinking about him and he has awakened her libido like no other man has.
A sequence of events happen that bring Alex, now Detective Shaw, and Regan back together again. But, the reason behind their reunion is an ominous one. Alex and Regan work together to unravel a mystery and discover that their attraction for one another is still white-hot.
This story was of the boy-meets-girl variety. It was intriguing but interspersed with comedic moments that made it a lively and engaging read.

I’d like to preface this review by saying that I almost never rate a novella above a 3 star. It is really just a matter of opinion, but novellas often feel rushed to me. Lacking in either plot or character development. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with Assume the Position. It’s a quick, enjoyable read. Perfect if you’re feeling like something naughty.
I have to say that T.C Lee did an excellent job of character development especially for a short story. I thought it was a unique twist that it was the hero that had some hang-ups about sex, usually it’s the heroine. Alex was sexy and dominant, my two favorite traits in a hero. Regan was a good mix of innocent and vixen. She was often shy, but still at times brazen. The chemistry between the two was steamy and the romantic scenes were hot.

I really enjoyed this book! Although not a full length novel, it was a really steamy read, yet still contained a significant amount of character development and plot, which was a delightful surprise. I really enjoyed the humor and phrases that the author used as well, and her writing style just really rocks :) As with her other book, "Power of the Moon", her accuracy in capturing the true nuances and procedures of the law enforcement profession were perfect. Can't wait to read more from her!

This book is a fantastic read that will get your heart pumping and your... well, it's an erotica, you figure it out! I absolutely love the idea of getting pulled over and getting a little frisky... Or a lot frisky... Hell, as long as I'm not getting a ticket I'm happy, but this book... yeowza.. Hot! Let's just say the hubby was happy that I read it. You won't be sorry for buying this one! Looking forward to the next book in the series...I'm thinking handcuffs, and maybe the nightstick?

Regan Taylor, a little shy, completely over men is talked into a date by her best friend, a date she really doesn't want. Late as usual she speeds down the highway and into her future. Alex Shaw, cop, control freak, skiddish around women and fighting his past while on duty sees a speeder and pulls her over...and looks into his future.
This novella written by T.C. Lee aka Tina Carriero is a leap into the naughty world of erotica and she does it well! Her hero struggling with self esteem issues and heroine who finds a whole new piece of her sensuality puzzle are well rounded and thought out characters. The reader is able to make an emotional connection to both characters. In fact we really wanted more story!!..a novella just didn't explore the potential of these two personalities. Her plot for a novella was great, beginning, middle and ending and although sex was definitely part of the book it wasn't the WHOLE book as you often find in erotica. A truly enjoyable read and I look forward to exploring more of her "Darker Side of Blue" Series...Keep it up!!! Tina/TC Love your character development!
A solid 4 stars for this tease into Erotica...We need a full length book!!! in this series.
This novella written by T.C. Lee aka Tina Carriero is a leap into the naughty world of erotica and she does it well! Her hero struggling with self esteem issues and heroine who finds a whole new piece of her sensuality puzzle are well rounded and thought out characters. The reader is able to make an emotional connection to both characters. In fact we really wanted more story!!..a novella just didn't explore the potential of these two personalities. Her plot for a novella was great, beginning, middle and ending and although sex was definitely part of the book it wasn't the WHOLE book as you often find in erotica. A truly enjoyable read and I look forward to exploring more of her "Darker Side of Blue" Series...Keep it up!!! Tina/TC Love your character development!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this one up, but I was happy. We start the story with Regan, being dressed sluttily by her friend to meet up with a guy she'd rather not be meeting. Her friend, Kate, is dating Todd, and Todd's friend Jeremy is interested in Regan. But Regan wants nothing to do with him. And she's late, so she's speeding and gets pulled over by the sexiest cop she's ever seen. Regan hasn't had very satisfying relationships in the past and really doesn't get what all the fuss is about with sex. Plus, she's been alone for years since her parents died in a car crash many years earlier. She doesn't have many friends... Kate is her only friend. (Some friend Kate turns out to be!)
The cop, Alex, has a penchant for domination, but he keeps it under wraps because most people wouldn't really understand it. Plus, he apparently has a monster dick and a really bad, early experience with it, so he's constantly holding himself back. But something about Regan strikes a chord in him... that she seems innocent and good, but feisty.
Alex ends up giving Regan a warning and letting her continue on, but he was just as affected by their meeting as she was. And he knows she doesn't want to be on this date, so he sort of breaks up their "party" while they are loitering by a convenience store. Which gives Regan an opportunity to head home instead of meeting up with them again... and she speeds on purpose by where he pulled her over the first time. This time, she pulls over in a secluded area, and he takes her into an alley and they screw. He restrains her and commands her, which turns her on (and him because she's responding positively) but Regan thinks there must be something wrong with her for feeling the way she does. They part ways and that's it. Quasi-anonymous sex. They know each others' names, but that's it.
And then some strange identity theft/mistaken identity thing happens, and she comes face-to-face with her cop again, and things heat up quickly. And Alex keeps thinking of that one instance of his youth and then he shuts down again. Totally confusing Regan. Thankfully, he was able to get past his issue and actually talk to her about it.
While I thought the "I love you" came a little fast, they did seem well matched for each other. The chemistry was great, the sex was great. There were a few editing issues, but most of the time, they didn't pull me from the story. And a great HEA, which I love.

HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS BDSM/EROTICA!
This was an unbelievably hot, hot book. Although this novel does focus mainly on the erotic and BDSM elements it has an underlying plot of traumatic and distressing pasts.
Detective Alex Shaw is a scarred man with a mysterious past. When you get to the core of why he is the way he is and why he's hesitant to contemplate anything sexual - you will not only find it HAWT but incredibly emotional with a man that cannot completely give himself over to a woman.
Regan Taylor is a person who doesn't really get along with others because she yearns for something more deeper. She is just the woman to soothe Detective Hunky.
The instant chemistry was explosive and can be felt by any reader. This short read will physically rock your socks off.
One dominant man meeting one submissive woman; a cop stopping a woman speeding. What in the world could go wrong? or go so damn right?

T.C. Lee is Tina Carreiro, dipped in hot sauce. So if you are a fan of Tina but like a bit of extra spice to your books - than this is definitely the book for you.
Assume the Position was short but definitely not sweet. It was kinky. It was naughty an it was down right dirty.
Alex (the hero) also had a sexual 'issue' that I wouldn't mind experiencing. He was HUGE. And I'm not exaggerating. I won't go into detail and spoil the story, but his mighty member could definitely insight some terror.
The reason for only 3.5 stars is hard to explain. I don't know if it was just my mood, or what, but I didn't completely connect with the story as much as I would have liked. It was well written - definitely smokin hot, but I think the heroine may have irked me too many times with how she let her best friend walk all over her. She wasn't an overly strong character and although submissives aren't always meek and timid outside of the bedroom - Regan definitely was. She let her best friend manipulate her and it lost love points with me.
Alex though?? Definitely shaggable material.

Are story is with Regan and Alex where they are on a journey of finding out who they are and what they are capable of. Regan is a recluse until she meets Alex then all she wants is him. A shortish but entertaining story. I liked the two main characters - their vulnerability, their honesty, their courage, and the chemistry between them. I found myself quickly engaged with the story, although there were times when I could have given Alex a smack for his coldness toward Regan. The sex scenes were pretty good too ;-). The writing would have benefitted from a little more editing, e.g. grammar, correct verb tenses, as I found these types of errors distracting. However, overall I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading others written by either TC or Tina.

I’m not sure why I accepted this review request. Maybe because it was the start of a new year and I was feeling adventurous. The title made me snort, and I liked the idea of an erotic book involving a police officer. I tried to go into this book just expecting crazy sex (which there is) and go with the erotica. But the non-sex scenes are weak. There is a murder storyline which just made no sense at all. I don’t want to spoil, although there really isn’t much suspense, but it felt like this murder plot was just dropped in the book.
Our heroine Regan wants some excitement in her life. Her last few bed partners have been boring. So when she is pulled over by officer Alex Shaw, and he flirts with her, her interest piques. Not interested in her date Jeremy at all, later that night she decides to floor it through the Alex’s portion of the road and she gets pulled over again.
Right away, Regan “called to his dominant side and made him want to go further with his hidden desires, his needs.” Okay, he has only known her for an hour but I’ll go with it. Alex has many hidden desires, especially with the massive size of his penis.
I have a large cock which some would think is a blessing, but not me.

Regan doesn't have much of a life except for her one friend Katy who sets her up for a date. Running late Regan ends ups speeding and running into the path of officer Alex Shaw. Now Alex thinks this is going to be a routine stop but soon finds himself drawn to the sexy and shy Regan which awakens his dominant side.
Reagan can't help feel the instant attraction that she has never felt for another man. His gorgeous looks, dominant voice and presence somehow affects her and she doesn't know how or why. I loved how she purposely gets pulled over an second time and the very hot engagement they have in the alley.
It was interesting to hear Alex's fears and concerns about letting himself go with a woman and never being completely fulfilled (or inside a woman). Alex's problem is he has a huge package (and when I mean huge the author provided a very enticing visual to describe just how big he is) and gets really turned on restraining a woman and doing it hard, very hard.
After some misunderstanding these two get together and the visual imagery is smoking hot and will make you wonder what in the world was wrong with all the other women Alex had in the past. It is amazing that Alex would think he would be every woman's nightmare not fantasy.

This little story started off good. I think because of the length, it was a little rushed to wrap up the ending. So, the relationship went a little fast for my taste. 2.5 rounded stars.

I decided to read this book after seeing some hilarious tweets from Smexy Books while she was reading it. This book is hard to review because there were parts that were very hot and sexy and other parts that had me rolling my eyes and laughing. Regan is supposed to be 27 years old but she has the maturity of a 17 year old. She is naive and immature but for some reason Alex is drawn to her. Perhaps it is her perceived "innocence". They get it on in an alley after just meeting and don't use a condom. But don't worry, she's on the pill so she's protected. *insert eye roll here* They don't know two shits about each other but had unprotected sex. Strike one. I hate stories that don't address condom use and the consequences of not using condoms. Alex apparently has a Monster-sized Penis and after tearing up his first girlfriend so bad that she required 4 stitches, he's never fully been inside a woman since. Oh and Alex likes it rough, real rough. Strike Two. The monster penis is definitely a turn off and when he was telling the story of what happened with his first girlfriend, I laughed instead of feeling bad for him (which I think was what I was supposed to be feeling). I don't find ginormous penises sexy. And another thing that popped into my mind, if his penis is that big, wouldn't he have problems finding pants that fit? I would think that would be an issue. Strike Three - the murder subplot. Totally unnecessary. A different avenue could have been used to bring Alex and Regan together. All in all, it was a fun read where I spent a couple of hours being entertained (and not in a good way). Again, it's very steamy and the sex scenes are the saving grace of this novella. Hence the two star rating. There were also formatting issues that made it sometimes difficult to read and the POV changes mid paragraph/scene had me re-reading parts to figure out who was talking. All I have to say is I'm glad I borrowed it using Kindle Lendle.

Mixed response to this novella. The story of Regan, alone in life bar a few friends, with very limited sexual experience, is pulled up by Alex a police officer on a speed charge, within seconds she's allowing this officer to take her into a dark alley, restraining her and having unprotected sex. Ok, so I suspend disbelief but it pushes my incredulity somewhat and accept it is fantasy. Then nothing, no contact from Alex, how bad Regan must have felt when assuming it had been a great experience for both. Then she finds herself involved in a murder charge purported by her only friends in the world, with Alex the new detective on the case and to be honest the lack of police protocol and way rules and safety measures are broken it again pushes limitations of belief. How it ends the reader finds out. On the plus side the sex scenes are hot and sexy though far from safe and sane they are consensual. There are a considerable amount of typo's throughout and they irritated me. I was itching to edit them out. With the story edited I would have said close to four stars but as it stands it's just three from me, sorry TC.
