Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.
He and his wife, Carol, started their family in Tallahassee where Tedd worked as a commercial illustrator. Carol, a kindergarten teacher, drew Tedd's attention to children's books. Their first son, Walter, inspired his breakthrough picture book, NO JUMPING ON THE BED!.
He and his family now live in Elmira. His second son, William, now stars in NO MORE WATER IN THE TUB!, a sequel to his first book. He has now published over 50 books as author and illustrator.
Neo is back to share another in his Fly Guy series, with a spooky spin. After an evening of playing monsters, Buzz settles in for the night while Fly Guy stays up late. Buzz wakes later to the sight of a blinding light. Before him, Fly Guy has created a monster... a Frankenfly! The monster comes to life with a jolt of electricity and begins to make his way towards Buzz. Panicked, Buzz screams for help, but Fly Guy might be too late. Could this be the end of an excellent friendship, and all at the hands of a ghastly creation? Neo did well narrating this piece and kept me intrigued until the end. While we are still a tad far from Hallowe’en, I had chills as the story progressed!
My 1st grade daughter just loves these books. They are getting a big easy for her, but, I still like picking them up for her because she just enjoys them so much. They are a good book to give her a break from more challenging reading. The illustrations are a lot of fun. When she's finished reading them she will go back through the book slowly to just enjoy the pictures.
Not the best Fly Guy book that I've read but I do like the idea of a Frankenfly! As with all of Tedd Arnold's books, love the colorful illustrations and the simple message of friendship!
Fly Guy My children love the fly guy series. We've read a couple now and they never fail to excite my 6 yr old and my twin 3 yr olds. I find him somewhat disgusting, but then again, I have boys, so they are still asking for more fly guy. It's also a nice break because sometimes these are on audio and I get those for them to listen to while I'm making lunch. I still read other books as well to them, but lately, these are their favorites. Arnold is quickly becoming a well-known name in our household.
Miss is really enjoying the Fly Guy series of books and will have a go at some of the often repeated words like "fly guy" and "buzz". She likes the often slightly gross pictures of what Fly Guy likes to eat. This edition has them thinking of Halloween costumes and each drawing a picture of their best friend.
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
I loved reading Fly Guy books when I was in elementary school. This book definitely took me back to my childhood! It's a good book for beginning readers because there are lots of large, colorful illustrations to keep their attention and one to two sentences on each page that makes it an easy read. I like how there was a question at the end that had the reader infer how Fly Guy painted the picture. The Fly Guy books were always popular with the boys in my class when I was younger. We would race to the library to be the first one to get to pick a new book from the series.

Got the pleasure of reading this to my daughter's grandson. He thoroughly enjoyed. His mother said it was his favorite book and wants it read to him daily. He was definitely familiar with it by the way he would finish the sentences as I was reading. Great book for a young listener or beginning reader.
Buzz and his pet fly Fly Guy spend a dark, stormy night making puzzles and costumes. Buzz goes to sleep, and has a nightmare of a Frankenfly monster. The next morning Fly Guy has a surprise for Buzz.
This was my first fly guy book. I liked it because I dressed up as Frankenstein last Halloween. I also liked that I could read a lot of it and my mom helped/read what I couldn't. I asked her to get more of these books.
This book is NOT my favorite Fly Guy in the series, it was cute but made NO SENSE!!!!🤔🤔 Sorry Tedd, but this book looked like it took 5 seconds to make. My daughter enjoyed it, but it is not her favorite😕
Many of the students I work with love the Fly Guy series. These books are simple reads and the illustrations are great! Within this book, Buzz dreams about Fly Guy creating Frankenfly! Was it real or was it his imagination? Buzz wakes up to find the truth.
Fly Guy and the Frankenfly written by Tedd Arnold is a book from a classic series. I loved these books as a child and remember how much joy they brought me. Luckily in this book the main character just had a bad dream and Frankenfly was not real. I think students would love this book!
Fly guy is the best and my son loves this series. He loved how Frankenstein was incorporated in the Fly Guy story and he has a great time laughing at the relationship between Fly Guy and Buzz!
