This children's books is the story of the legend of the Blue Willow plate. It is the story of a Chinese father with a beautiful daughter who falls in love with a common man. I have a couple of Blue Willow plates so I wanted to know the legend behind the design on the plate.

The legend behind the Blue Willow China pattern told in picture book form. The illustrations are beautiful and eye catching.

It's a sad story, but I disagree with reviewers who think it's not appropriate for children. It may not be suitable for all children, but plenty of children enjoy tales (and songs) of tragedy. It's a way for them to explore these themes and events safely, from a distance.
