Far Memory #3

Eyes of Horus

Rate this book
Ra-ab, heir to the Nomarch of the Oryx, grows up in a corrupt Egypt devoted to the worship of Set, the Lord of Fear. When an adult, he joins a group called "the eyes of Horus," dedicated to ending the rule of terror and lifting the shadows of greed, lust, and cruelty from Egypt. Toward this end, he leads his followers into battle to depose the old regime and evil priests. This is one of the most exciting of all of the Joan Grant novels.

I liked the Winged Pharaoh better but this was still a good read. I had a very old copy and the pages were brittle and cover falling off which made it more difficult to read

Read a 1940s edition of this but can't trace it. This was another of the books I used to read at my Grandmother's - think she was actually a closet follower of Madame Blavatsky.
Very well written, fascinating book

Just as engaging as Winged Pharaoh, and one of the most incredible windows into Ancient Egypt I've encountered anywhere
