It's Jonah and Laurie's first Valentine's Day. What could be a better way to celebrate than with a little kinky superhero role-play? According to Laurie, pretty much anything. Bummed, but unwilling to pressure his boyfriend into something he doesn't want to do, Jonah resigns himself to celebrating a more traditional Valentine's Day. But Jonah isn't the only one who hates to see his boyfriend unhappy...
Piper Vaughn is a romance author and lifelong fan of the genre. Since writing their first love story at age eleven, they’ve known writing in some form was exactly what they wanted to do. A reader to the core, Piper loves nothing more than getting lost in a great book.
Piper is of Puerto Rican descent and grew up in a diverse neighborhood in Chicago. They love putting faces and characters of every ethnicity in their stories, making their fictional worlds as colorful as the real one. Above all, Piper believes there’s no one way to have an HEA, and every person deserves to see themselves reflected on the page.
First this is the sequel to Wanting. If you haven’t read Wanting IMO you’re an idiot since it is free and very enjoyable. But if you skipped that you can read this as a standalone.
It’s always nice to revisit old friends when an author writes the sequel/follow-up well.
This was great seeing Jonah and Laurie again. They are very cute together and I loved seeing them again. Was a very enjoyable little snippet into their lives and how they are doing together. This story is around their first Valentines together even though most of it is building up to that V-day.
This short story is part of the Less Than Three Kiss Me Quick Valentine bundle. It is the first Valentine’s Day together for Jonah and Laurie, the two MC from the story Wanting. Laurie is the shyer of the two, both in public and in private. When Jonah casually mentions his wish for Valentine’s Day is to role play as superheroes (Batman and Superman, specifically) Laurie is abashed, then believes it to be a joke. It is anything but a joke for Jonah, who is upset by the idea Laurie wouldn’t even consider it. He can’t understand why Laurie would be embarrassed in the privacy of their bedroom. The story is short, but it packs a strong message – what do you do to make the one you love happy? Laurie and Jonah are so lovable and cute. I love the cover on the book, and the moment of truth is just precious. Definitely recommended for anyone who has ever compromised for love and everyone who likes a sweet, fluffy love story.
This is a great follow up story to Wanting. It's Jonah and Laurie's first Valentines day together and they can't agree on how to celebrate it. Laurie would be happy with dinner and movie , but Jonah wants something a little more kinky. You have to read the story to see which one gets their way, but you'll be happy with the outcome:). It's a great story!
I enjoy this short story. It's sweet and at the same time looking at serious issues in a relationship.
- if one wants something new, how does he communicate it to the other person? - how does he react to rejection?Angry, leaving, or accepting? - how does the other person react to the suggestion?
I'm happy with the way the mcs behavè. Recommended.
Oh yeah, Batman to my Superman, I haven't laughed this much in ages!!! Piper, you sure know how to start a book, I missed those two, and it was sooooo good to see them again, thank you, you rock!!!

This is the sequel for short FREE story, Wanting (which you should read, considering that it is free!). I must say that the story grabs me from the very first line:
"I want you to be the Batman to my Superman."
Isn't that just dorky and adorable at the same time?!? *grin*. See, Jonah wants to have a little flair in his relationship with Laurie (although it has only been six months) by wearing costume as some sort of foreplay. Hey, it's Valentine's Day, right? But Laurie thinks it's ridiculous and refuses. Jonah is a bit hurt and Laurie tries to make up for that.
These two young men are just so cute. The story is pretty fluffy without being too sugary for me. And the ending, on what Laurie does to apologize is just awww worthy. Totally a great sequel for these two. I don't mind reading more about them (hear that, Piper?)
So cute but way way too short. I read Wanting years ago, it was one of my first forays into m/m romance and I remember this couple being adorable and sexy. Well Jonah and Laurie still have it. I immediately remembered why I loved this couple so much, felt like no time had passed since I read their book. Which just shows how impressive this author is, Piper Vaughn is such a good writer. But what's the point of having your couple stress over wanting to try out a kink "fantasy" only to not even show it in the end? :< It's not nice to edge your readers that way. :P This could have been an epilogue or bonus chapter and call it a day.
LOVE these two. This is a much requested sequel to Wanting which is part of a Less Than Three bundle of stories for Valentine's day.
In this story, Laurie and Jonah are living together at college and as Valentine's Day approaches, Jonah has some ideas for celebrating that Laurie isn't that comfortable with. I loved the way these two interacted in this story - realistic, but still loving and sweet.
Honestly, I could read about these two for a long time. How about it Piper dear??
Another little novella featuring Jonah and Laurie, and Jonah's plans for a kinky night in on Valentine's Day...with dressing up courtesy of Batman & Superman. 4 stars.
As usual, Jonah is just totally fucking adorable and Laurie is Laurie. Sweet and kind and patient and all.
But seriously, how can anyone be as adorably cute as Jonah? I swear, if I could, I would definitely give me a huge, gigantic bear hug (though it would probably be awkward since I just read about him having kinky sex with Laurie and all. . .).
Anyway this is just a sweet and hot follow up to the first book Wanting. Definitely recommended to those who want a curl-up-in-a-chair-on-a-rainy-day kind of book and, of course, have read the first one.
So I totally read these in the wrong order. I downloaded this when I saw the announcement of a Valentine's release on Piper's twitter the other day, and saved it for today. It was super adorable (uh, someone said superhero roleplay and I was THERE) and hit the V-Day lunch break spot, but I was like, "Okay, there's more to this story, I know it..."
And then I found Wanting. Should've checked GR before and I would've known BUT! Cannot say that reading it in the wrong order hurt my enjoyment, because this was so. much. fun. Love these guys.
I had no idea this was out there. How did I miss more of Jonah and Laurie? Ugh. This was again adorable and I loved it. It was so what I needed today, I needed my happy place. Poor Laurie with the things Jonah asks for in public places but how lucky is Jonah that Laurie will go to the lengths he does for Jo? Sigh. I love these two and it was great seeing them almost a year later still so in love and hot. Gah! Their kisses are so...yeah. I can't wait to read Ringing True when it comes out. I don't think I will ever get enough these boys.
Very cute follow up to Wanting. I really love the characters of Jonah and Laurie and it was great to see them still together in college. Very funny incorporation of Superman/Batman and the bat signal. Very adorable.
