Legendary sports photographer, Rainer W. Schlegelmilch has created a striking homage to the turbulent milestones set in the racing world in his latest collaboration with teNeues, "Formula1: the Roaring 70s." Schlegelmilch not only showcases some of the best shots taken from the track and pit, but defines the essence of an era for one of the most thrilling sports in the world. Schlegelmilch's color photography is emotive, intriguing--directing readers toward a sentiment far removed from the hard edged camera of today's professionalism. Those halcyon days really did have a special charm all their own, which you can now enjoy as you admire all the stars of the decade: Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldo, Niki Lauda, Mario Andretti. Even the uninitiated will become true fans.
Formula 1:The Roaring 70s(English,German,French,Spanish and Italian Language text.)
Formula 1:The Roaring 70s is a Huge beautiful hardcover pictorial of A time when racing was racing and Men Were Men,Cars were Cars,Political Correctness was not the norm(as the Author eloquently points out briefly).Legends were abound, sadly it was also a deadly era but the participants, spectators and drivers alike knew and as they know now the risks.Looking through this heavy book the attention to detail is amazing and the cars, personalities, exotic locales(some sadly defunct)really bring to life this era.My only wish is I would have been born to have been around then to witness it instead of the Formula one of Today.
