Inteeractive book where you can insert the attached cardboard squirrel with felt tail in on different pages to follow his adventure. This one was a favorite from my daughter's childhood. I cannot believe we have not lost the squirrel, though there is a nice pocket for him on the front cover. Publisher thoughtfully included instructions for making your own if original is lost.

This book is darling! This one, along with There's a Mouse About the House, have a critter for you to take on an adventure through the book. The squirrel wakes up from his nap hungry, and oh no! He forgot where he put his nuts! Let me tell you - my 2.5 year old daughter will sit for 20 minutes (20 MINUTES, PEOPLE!) and take this squirrel through the pages - "have you seen my nuts? No? Ok, bye." and on to the next page. All the way to the end "My nuts! Hooray! Again, momma?" And the whole process starts again.

Not only is it adorable, it encourages interaction with the story, and cultivates her love of reading. This book is a must have in my book.

A Squirrel's Tale written by Richard Fowler is a great proactive picture books that allows the reader to be the squirrel and search for his hidden nuts in the woods. The book has a cut-out squirrel and slots that he fits through as he wiggles and moves his way through the pages. There are pop-ups and humorous asides throughout the book. In my opinion this book is great for readers because it keeps them engaged and wanting to reader more. The squirrel meets many animals and in the end finds his nuts.

It seems the only real books I'm reading lately are kid's books. This one is along the same lines of the There's A Mouse about the House. I recommend this book to anyone who has yound children! It also comes with a little squirrel to slip through the slots in each page.

This book is good for individual reading. It is very interactive because you physically take the squirrel on his journey through to book to find his nuts. I chose this book because it was one of my favorites as a child.

Squirrel! They should make a kitty cat book with a cat that has a fluffy tail. How cute.
