This was really helpful for the basics of conversation. I especially liked the way it encourages figuring out how to construct new phrases by mixing new vocabulary with old vocabulary covered in previous lessons.
My only gripe is with lesson 8, the last lesson on the fourth disc. In previous lessons, the "teacher" took the time to at least explain that extra sounds (word endings) were tacked on in certain phrases, and pointed out how they changed the pronunciation. In lesson 8, an additional sound appeared when learning phrases that contained the word for coffee. However, there was no acknowledgment or explanation, nor any close attention paid to pronunciation.
There's something about the learning curve of the Pimsleur method that makes me want to give up/lose interest after the third lesson. Or maybe I'm just lazy.
