Book four in the Seasons of Love Series

Just as the seasons change, so do people.

After eighteen years together, Sidney Wilks and Grady Nash thought their bond was unbreakable, but they are about to discover it takes a lot of work to make a relationship last.

The death of his surrogate father followed by an irreparable fight with his long-time friend threatens to pull Sidney down into an abyss of depression. When Nash suggests getting away for a much-needed vacation, Sidney eventually agrees, believing it will give him time to heal. Unfortunately, the sun-filled cruise only serves to drive a wedge between him and the man he loves.

Back to their daily lives, Sidney buries himself in work, eventually accepting a partnership at Creative Solutions. As rewarding as his new position is, it further drives Sidney and Nash apart. Although his love for Nash never wavers, Sidney begins to wonder if Nash is tiring of him.

Faced with a life-altering decision, it will take the friend he thought he'd lost to make Sidney realise his future was written years earlier when a man named Nash befriended him.

Reader This book is the last in a four-part series and should be read in order of sequence.

This series will go down as one of my all time favorites. The last chapters of Nash and Sidney's lives were so touching and real. I cried and that's a rarity for me. The emotions and feelings were ripe and at times raw but the love between them was never questioned. Even after all they went through, Sidney and Nash are an example of what we all wish for in our own lives. I will miss them but am content to picture them sitting on their back porch together enjoying their spectacular view.

*pout* 87% on my kindle! I don't want Cattle Valley, I want Sidney and Nash!!!!!
All four books are now settled on my comfort-read-shelf :) What a wonderful series, not only Sidney and Nash, but all the other members of their family and friends. I started reading book 1 two days ago and couldn't stop - unfortunately I had to sleep and then there was the family. Now I'm sitting here, looking for book 5, although to tell the truth - the end was fitting and wonderful! It's a bit sad to leave them, but I'm sure, I'll visit them again.

There's a Swedish proverb which states: "Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow." It fits the philosophy of Sidney Wilks and Graham Nash's life perfectly. In 'Winter', book four in The Seasons of Love series by Carol Lynne, they have shared their joys and sorrows for most of their lives, and, although it's not always been an easy trip, it's been one filled with an unconditional love that most of us only dream of attaining.

Sidney continues to impress me with his loving, forgiving nature. He's helped so many people in the series that I was very pleasantly surprised when, in a great time of need, a stranger stepped up to help him. Karma does work and if anyone deserves to be repaid for his kindness, it is Sidney. Even after all their years together, Sidney never stops looking for ways to improve their lives together. In yet another act of selflessness, he comes upon a compromise which offers them an opportunity for a more fulfilling life.

Because of his health problems, Nash and Sidney go through several stages of learning to cope. After Nash's last brush with death, he decides that he needs to live life with more openness and give all the people in his life, Sidney included of course, as much of him as he possibly can. Eventually, he and Sidney decide to work on appreciating the time they have together rather than worrying about what they can't change, promising to love each other as much as they can for as long as they have together.

I really hate to see this series end; I'll miss Sidney and Nash and all of the other wonderful characters who were created for this series. I feel as if I've become part of their lives and would gladly call them my friends. I remain in awe of Sidney and Nash's ability to love. I think Maggie, Sidney's surrogate mother, says it best: “The way the two of you love each other is an inspiration. Look at all the people around you who have taken a chance and fallen in love. That didn’t all happen by accident. They were shown, first hand, what true love could be and decided they wanted that for themselves.” Once again, Carol, I thank you for this stirring and optimistic series. I encourage anyone with a romantic spirit and a belief in unconditional love to read and be inspired by this series.

Carol Lynne Has done it again. Winter is an absolute beautiful read. She shows us everything involved with a realionship. How working through problems and living your life to the fullest is all we are guaranteed out of this world. I would recommend this book and yes it is a series and best read that way.

I really enjoyed this whole series from the beginning of the relationship of Sidney and Nash all the way through over 25 years of them together. This book had a little more emotional impact because of all of Nash's health issues. But like all the other obstacles they faced throughout the years, their love carried them through and they dealt with it. The last part of the book I think was the best for this chapter in their lives. It may have taken Sidney a really long time to realize all that Nash really gave up for him, but he did and he gave Nash and really himself something that truly made them both happy.

I put off reading this book for a long time because I didn't want to say goodbye to Sidney and Nash but also because I was scared of how their story would end. I needn't have worried though as the end of their story was just as touching and beautiful and full of love as the beginning. This was a really amazing series.

I love Carol Lynne. This series was truly a break from form. I did however bawl like a baby through this series. (I also wish I'd have know to read it before reading the first 2 books of her new series) I need a break though. I'm sick of crying and need some funny. Anyone have any suggestions?

Honestly, this author has written so many books, with such good ratings that I was itching to give her a try. So I did.

I was eager to know how she is going to write this couple in their middle and elderly age. I have read enough mm to be repulsed by the title because of their (MCs) luscious sex in their ripe age. It was gratifying, not to find them humping on each other every time I turned the page. I liked the way how the story built, gradually but with very solid plot. Unnecessary third party elements were (to my relief) not poked in the plot to keep the story going. Everything seemed collected to its required perfection.

I found the characters very appealing. Not just the MCs, but every one of them. It’s very rare for me to be enthusiastic and indulged by every character and I in all actuality wanted to read about them and not slash them out. The Ballentines, were very whelming. They were so methodically woven in the story that I found myself hard to separate them from the MCs. It was relaxing to read the way characters portrayed their day to day life. Simple pleasures and casual remarks eventually comprising and weighing in their matter when the situation arose was brilliantly coiffed .I appreciated how the author limited the pages of every title to what was “sufficient” for that label. Not one issue in this series was stretched beyond it’s capability to loose its nuance. I found myself relating to their everyday life and it was very relaxing to go through the first three volumes.

In my opinion, winter was written best. Why? Because I was looking forward to how the author would grasp and compose all the characters and their age factor to a halt. Which she did exquisitely. Nothing was superficies and stood unnecessarily out from the previous three patterns. What the MCs did was entirely in sync with their groove and I found it very genuine as in what I see people doing in their later age. The author did not use the previously catalytic essentials such as sex and vigorous everyday routine (corresponding to the two MCs) in the same capacity, to my utter delight, she maturely kneaded and exploited them to the best of “Winter”. Their love was elementally senescent, a solid driving force which kept me involved to the end. They were four volumes, and I enjoyed them all.

This is the final book in the Seasons of Love series. This book was a bit more difficult due to Nash’s health issues. I care for Nash so much and felt so sad for all he was going through. His meeting with Mike was heartbreaking. Nash has always put Sidney first even at the detriment of his own health and happiness. His lifelong love for Sidney has remained strong and unbreakable. It was reassuring that Sidney’s love for Nash was just as unbreakable, especially given the difficult challenges to their relationship.

So many of the issues they faced would have broken a lesser couple but, after a lifetime, these two are still so much in love and so committed to each other that it brought tears to my eyes.

After Nash gave up his life and love of the ranch to be with Sidney all those years ago, I was so, SO glad that Sidney finally gave up something for Nash. And, really, Sidney gained everything from it including an even stronger relationship with a healthier and stronger Nash.

I love books that are part of a series. You get to know the characters and grow with them as you watch them journey through the ups and downs of life. I really enjoyed my journey with Nash and Sidney.

This book was a good, satisfying end to a very good series. I would definitely recommend this series to others.

Carol Lynne at her finest!!!
This final book in her 4 part series was just as strong and as beautiful as the beginning. What a extraordinary 30+ years love story these 4 books took us through. Nash & Sidney started out as a couple and over the years created a wonderful family. Each book will bring a smile and tears to your day. This is a series all romance lovers would enjoy.

THANK YOU CAROL!!

On a side note:
For those who have to deal with heart disease and the impact on your or your loved ones lives please watch the documentary "Forks Over Knives" (get it from Netflix, Amazon or your local library) it will not only give you control back of your life, but know there is a way to reverse the damage and give you hope.
Or do like I did and read the two books written by the doctors the documentary was about.

It's going to be really hard to say goodbye to Sidney and Nash because I'm sure going to miss them. I thought the Seasons of Love series was a very realistic portrayal of the ups and downs in a couple's relationship - with their family, jobs, friends, health and even sex life. But through it all the love between Sidney and Nash never wavered and it was inspiring to everyone around them, including the reader. After all the scares with Nash's heart problems and the emotional journey they've been on for more than 30 years, I hope these two wonderful men have another 30 years together. This book was a beautiful ending to the series and found everyone in a happy place. I for one would love to pull up a chair and join Sidney and Nash on their porch, just taking in the peaceful scenery and enjoying life one day at a time. Very well done!

I purchased Winter when it was first available but it took me a little time to steel myself to read it. I was afraid of how Nash and Sidney’s story would end, would it be a final good-bye, a retirement back to the ranch with Sidney drowning in bad memories and feelings...I was just afraid because nothing felt right. But you did this beautifully. There are real struggles with heart disease, depression, self pity and the temptation to just give up and wither away. You expressed these in a compassionate, realistic way. I love Sidney and Nash and I will always picture them hosting holidays, surrounded by their family and friends. Thank you for a really beautiful story and a perfect ending.

While I liked the idea of following one couple through to the end, this turned out to be pretty sad going.

Take away all the drama of the Ballentine family and you are left with a pretty good look at a couple who struggle to live their HEA to the end. I did enjoy Sidney and Nash's story. I loved how we got to see the pit falls of a relationship and how easy it can go wrong. But I found all the side characters distracting and felt almost like I was watching a soap opera with everything happening to one family.

Given a choice I think I prefer the HEA of book one lol.

A very satisfying ending for the series. I hate to see it end but I would rather it end like it did. Nash and Sidney have gone through so much and now deserve their peaceful end years:)
