Lori Pescatore ends to her Blend Series with Terminal Blend, bringing the reader up to date on the characters introduced in the previous two books. Our story begins with Percone, an Earthling who has been punished by Mother Earth by being forced to live as a human for one year, awaking in his new human body. He is handed off to the leader of the Human Blends, Gregg with a bag of clothes and instructions to teach him. Gregg grudgingly agrees to watch over Percone, but he has other things on his mind, he has received a message from his leader, Flute, that their home planet is losing the battle against their oppressors. He decides its time to use their secret weapon, Julie, who holds the power of carnage along with her other blend abilities of healing and numera.

After defeating the man who kidnapped her for her Numera, Julie has established a life in Virginia. Julie and Austin who is a blend of both Human Blend and Earthling, are dating, she has been reunited with her father who she thought dead, lives in a building owed by Earthling doctor, Eli, and works in the hospital with both Eli and another Human Blend, Marcus. Julie attracts trouble like a bee to honey, and it’s not surprising that she finds herself in the midst of trying to save the world, dealing with her carnage abilities and juggling her feelings for both Austin and Eli. Once again the Human Blends and Earthlings will work together to not only try to save Earth but the planet Flutera as well.

Ms. Pescatore builds a world of aliens and humans all living together and fighting for survival for all. Full of a varied cast of characters and action packed, Terminal Blend wraps up the series with a bang and a twist, leaving the reader exhausted but satisfied by the end. As the plot builds we are introduced to new characters and catch up with old friends we met in the previous two books. There is a huge cast of characters yet Ms. Pescatore still managed to give each his time to shine and even though there were times I was a little lost as to who was who and who was what, I found myself getting wrapped up in all of them.

The story focuses on Julie, who wants to settle down and live a normal life, she enjoys working in the hospital and is discovering the joys of first love with Austin. She has just recently learned of her ability of carnage which allows her to generate massive amounts of heat and fire and has not learned how to control it so when she gets angry it tends to rear its ugly head. Austin is also trying to get a handle on the changes happening in him and learn how to live with both sides of his nature. Eli is obviously in love with Julie and gallantly trying to allow her to be happy with Austin. Marcus is a frisky, playboy type who just loves to egg Julie on and gives us many moments of comic relief. Gregg, Percone and a nasty group of four from the planet Flutera who are up to no good round out the cast.

There was a lot going on in this book, at times it seemed a bit frenzied and felt like Ms. Pescatore was trying to fit too much into the story. This did give me a few moments of feeling overwhelmed and I would have liked to have either seen some of the twists taken out or the series extended to another book to deal with them. While there is a pretty good summary throughout the book to catch those up who didn’t read the first two, I think reading them would certainly make this one easier to understand. Again, I have to point out that this book is rated Young Adult with a warning in the beginning that it “contains sexual situation, mild violence and language is intended for a mature young adult”. I second this warning, while there are no explicit sex scenes, it is obvious it is happening. This has been an interesting series with a different twist on aliens and the fantasy genre and I have enjoyed all three books. It will be fun to see what direction Ms. Pescatore takes in the future, I’m betting it won’t be boring.

Terminal Blend is the final installment in The Blend Trilogy written by self-published author Lori Pescatore, with the first two novels titled as Human Blend and Earth Blend.

In Human Blend, readers are introduced to Julie, who has been on the run from men who have kidnapped her for the special abilities that she possesses. Throughout her journey she is befriended by Earthlings, Mother Nature’s children that were created for the purpose of protecting planet Earth, and can harness Earth’s elements. Julie is also befriended by other Blends like her, who carry the ability to heal along with other special abilities. When matters of the heart come into play, things get more complicated as Julie finds herself at the focal point of a love triangle. In Earth Blend, readers learn more about these supernatural creatures introduced in the first novel, and Julie’s true purpose is revealed. In the final installment, Terminal Blend, the last of the secrets are unraveled and Julie’s abilities are put to the test as the time has come for her to face her true destiny…

I had the incredible opportunity of being one of Lori Pescatore’s Beta Readers for Terminal Blend. Having really enjoyed the first two installments in The Blend Series, Human Blend and Earth Blend, I felt honored to have been selected to read each chapter of Terminal Blend as the novel was being written. There were many moments of both excitement and heart ache, and as I opened my email to read the final chapter, I realized just how saddened I was for this series to have reached its end.

What immediately drew me to The Blend Series was the uniqueness of the characters, as well as the romance, mystery, and paranormal elements incorporated within the story. As for my favorite aspect of Terminal Blend, there really isn’t one specific thing that I liked more than the other, as I enjoyed all the elements within entire novel. I do hope that Lori Pescatore someday decides to come back to the characters in this series and create a spin off.

Not only has The Blend Trilogy become one of my favorites, but by having had the opportunity to get to know the incredibly talented author behind the series, it has truly made the whole reading experience that much more special. I’m truly looking forward to reading more from Lori Pescatore, and if you haven’t yet read The Blend Series, you really don’t know what you’re missing! I highly recommend The Blend Series to those who enjoy Young Adult Fiction.

I am back to review the exciting concluding book in The Blend Trilogy, Terminal Blend, by Lori Pescatore.

The Story- Julie is alive and reeling with her new found power, carnage. She has the ability to kill with a thought, but at what price? She needs to control her powers, or she might kill innocents. However, time is running out, and the Blends learn that their great enemy is on its way to Earth, ready to kill all humans and destroy the Earthlings that protect it.

Julie struggles with training, and at the same time her personal life takes a hard twist. Her boyfriend Austin, the first Human/Earthling/Blend mix becomes distant, and Julie worries that another might be influencing him. Then there is doctor Eli, the handsome Earthling that makes Julies heart beat out of control. And don’t forget Marcus, the blend with Lure, the power to seduce whomever he wants.

As supernatural creatures come out of the woodworks, Julie soon discovers that the people she trusts the most have been lying to her and that she must decide what role in the upcoming battle she wants to play.

My Thoughts- I’ve loved this entire trilogy. The writing is so fresh and the characters are creative. Plus, the author has a natural flare for the romantic/sensual side of things. Julie is a great heroine. She fights for the ones she loves and does her best to be truthful to herself and others. As she learns more about her powers, her character evolves and we see her struggle with the ability to kill. Something she finds hideous.

The love triangle has existed since book one and the tension just keeps building. I loved every twist and turn. Doctor Eli brings an interesting perspective to the story. Through him we learn about the planet the Blends originally came from, and that Earth has a sister planet. We even get to travel to that world and watch as he faces some tough decisions.

I recommend the entire trilogy. Good job Lori!

Terminal Blends is the final installment in the Blend Trilogy. This book was action packed from start to finish. It recapped storylines from the previous two books without going into too many details. It kept the readers on their toes and even had a happy ending.
I would defiantly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys sci-fi/paranormal novels.

I won this book from the goodreads giveaways. The author was very generous in sending me the previous two installments the Blend Trilogy.
