I like Kyle's other books more; this one had a hard time keeping my interest. I never really got to care about the main character too much, though he is a good person caught up in some messes he's having a hard time getting control over.
I originally read it in College, & at that time, I would have rated it a 4star most likely.
it's been an on again-off again read for several months, & I just decided to shelve it indefinitely.

The book was written in 1981. The plot is interesting but can't be called racy. The ending is pretty sad.

A curious thriller in that you couldn't predict where the story was going to go. The long chase up the St Lawrence needed to be more tense and the ending almost felt like an anticlimax.
