This was freaking awesome! I really love Transformers in general so I was going to like this no matter what. I am starting to get into Graphic Novels and this helped push me along. I am going to go out and look for other Graphic Novels sometime this week.

If you like Transformers at all please put this on your list to buy when it comes out!

the Dinobots try to survive the post-apocalyptic wastes of Cybertron in the wake of season 2 of the tv series, dealing with factionalism within the Autobots, Insecticons and clones of actual dinosaurs.

there's some very clean line-work and a handful of greatt location designs, the action sequences flow very well.

did I mention Grimlock fights a t-rex? yeah, it's as cool as it sounds.

No idea who any of the characters were other than Grimlock, and even then, I really don't think he was portrayed correctly (and this comes from a girl who only learned more about him from the RiD show almost a month ago).

Cybertron is a dying world, and the Dinobots are one of the few races around along with factions of Autobots and Insecticons. These factions don't seem to be getting along very well. After a series of strange incidents, Grimlock is sent to find out what happened. His investigation will lead him into areas of Cybertron where he is not welcome.

The whole thing plays a bit like a noir detective novel. The planet is dark and moody, the suspects are uncooperative, and Grimlock is more grouchy than likeable. When he discovers real dinosaurs on the planet, there are pretty great scenes of Grimlock fighting a real T-Rex.

It’s a different type of story for a Transformers book, but it’s got plenty of action. Art by Michael Gaydos and Beni Lobel is especially good. Apparently, the story takes place after season 2 of the animated series. I really liked the mood of the story and locations, and the fight scenes with real dinosaurs were pretty epic.

I was given a review copy of this graphic novel by Diamond Book Distributors and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for letting me review this graphic novel.

Disclaimer: I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I did not receive any form of compensation.

Since I have always loved The Transformers from back in the 80s, I decided to save this one to read while I was in the hospital. I figured that it would be much easier to follow along a graphic novel then a regular novel.

Well, let me tell you, I have already reread it a few times! I absolutely love this one. First off, I have to say that I love the dinobots! So any story line that involves them is great. This one is well written. One of the things that I like is that it is a completely stand alone story line. It isn’t one where you have to watch certain episodes or read other comics or anything like that in order to understand where it takes place in the timeline. The place in the timeline is explained and the reader doesn’t even need to really know about the prior events to really appreciate this graphic novel.

The artwork was to die for! Ok, off to go read it again! I just can’t get enough of it.

This graphic novel takes place on Cybertron, the dying planet. The war is done and the energon supplies are low. Many different groups of bots appear, but the Dinobots are heavily featured.

The first half of the story is a mystery with the bots trying to find the cannibal murderer, killing and then stealing energon from bots.

The second half features some interesting organic beasts that I really enjoyed seeing battle.

There's a lot if really cool action shots in this book, but I was kind of lost while reading. I wasn't familiar with the characters. If you only know if the Transformers movies, I wouldn't suggest this book unless you're ready to meet a new world.

Although visually stunning, I didn't think the stories or characters had much depth. I give this graphic novel a 3/5.

Not having read much on Transformers lately, I went to this with a bit of skepticism. First of all a big thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the possibility to read and review this.
About the book. I think the story is great, with lots of twists, action and good characters.
The twists and mystery really give this the edge it need to be better than most graphic novels. It's not just actions and battles, though it has its share and they are plentiful. The drawings are amazing and really help the action feel.
The characters feel very fleshed out and you quickly connect with them.
All in all a must read.

This American teen talking robots future noir graphic novel features dingy settings in the post-apocalypse world of Cybertron, home of the transformers - talking robots who can transform between different shapes. Shiny bright chunky metal functional mecha figures with cracked bodywork. Glowing eye sockets.
Action figures of the characters are available from toy stores.

I read this book as a review copy from NetGalley.

I enjoyed this first volume of Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters. I am a person who grew up with the Transformers in the 80s and while I never owned any dinobots, I certainly wanted them. This is a story about the dinobots on Cybertron dealing with the aftermath of a war and trying to survive. I enjoyed it.
