The night my sister and ex boyfriend announce their engagement I take off despite the raging storm. An action I very quickly regret when my car skids off the road. But thankfully a giant of a man sees the whole thing and saves me. He's cranky and much older than me and yet I feel drawn to him in a way I can't explain. This man may be a bossy Mountain Grump but I am more than happy to let him boss me around. Especially in the bedroom.
This is a Sweet, Steamy Short Story Romance. No Cliffhangers. This is the first in the Mountain Men of Beaumont Peak series, but it can also be read as a standalone. If you love short romances with steamy sex scenes and a sweet love story, then you’ll love this book.
Short, sweet and steamy. Emily deserves so much more than what she’s been dealing with. Chase is in the right place at the right time to rescue her. It doesn’t take long for them to realize they are meant to be. This is a great quick read, with a guaranteed happily ever after.
I had to DNF this book. The writing was so awful and 5 minutes after meeting they decide they’re soul mates and then after a week she’s moving in with him and they’re saying I love you… I like short story romances but this needed a bit more than what it had
What did I just read? There is Insta love and then there is this.
It honestly had me laughing at loud but not because it was trying to be humorous.
It started off promising and I know it’s a novella, but this Insta love is on another level. Confessing undying love after a couple of days. And then proposing and trying for a baby…the next day…what is going on haha.
This was something yet I’m not sure exactly what that something is. Picked this up because of a snippet from book 4, will probably try the next and see if we can avoid some insta love there. Second thought, will not continue, the reviews all seem the same - more insta love.
The side story with her sister and ex boyfriend was interesting. Yet ironically he was the only one who seemed to make a bit of sense in this story.
“It means I’m staying here with Chase. He’s my boyfriend, Mom and we’re moving in together” Ben scoff. “You’re fucking delusional”
Hate to say it but he isn’t wrong on this point.
📚 age gap (25f and 50?m) 📚 forced proximity 📚 novella 📚 INSTA LOVE
I love me a good mountain man romance especially when he’s grumpy. Although Chase wasn’t that grumpy I still loved his character so much. It’s a short novella but he definitely gave me “sweet for only her” vibes and I eat that shit up! Emily is driving during a storm and gets into an accident. Chase find her and takes her back to his place. It’s very insta love but the pacing was very well done. There are horses which I love. It’s just a good book and the ending was perfect!
This was a very straight forward heart warming read with a bit of spice. If you love the instant “that’s my person” and “I just can keep my hands off” vibes, this short novella is perfect. There isn’t a whole lot of grumpy in the MMC but he tries to keep his distance with a little caustic reality. It’s probably the only downside but I still recommend for a quick pallet cleanser.
Are these the best books ever written. No. The plots are fairly ok, the characters are likeable enough. Are there parts that are just a bit outlandish and unbelievable, yes. These are short story’s, there isn’t going to be lots of build up and investment. But they’re decent filler books, if you want to read but you’re in the ‘in-between’ stage and their fairly harmless.
I would give this one a 3.5 to be honest. This is a well written quick easy read with great characters. This is one for that lazy afternoon read or the waiting in the carpool lane at school. I would encourage everyone to go get this one it is worth your time.
Short story. Would have enjoyed a bit more character development and conflict. Sexy scenes. Chase has more to his story and why he was in his 50’s and alone. Would enjoy another chapter about Chase & Emily 5 years after end of this short.
This was a good, fast read. I really enjoyed it. Emily gets in a wreck in a bad storm. Chase saves the day and a lot more than that. I loved how her mom took to Chase right away. Good book!
I love a good fast plot as much as the next person, but falling in love right away and never wanting to leave by chapter 5 is really pushing it for me.

Probably the fastest moving romance book … meet, hook up, move in together, say I love you, engaged then married a day apart. All within less than 100 pages
