OH. MY. GOD.

I cannot believe Potter's story, this was one hell of a read, even more so that it was a short novel!!! So much adventure, so much feeling and now a complete understanding of the arse! Potter, I am sorry, you are no longer an arse to me, I hate to admit that I think you are quite something!

Potter's story actually takes off from the ending of Vampire Breed, and I mean it picks up right where we finished... Potter has Kiera's words flying round his head and then we sink into his past as he takes off to go and rescue Luke...

It's here in Wolf House that we see Potter's true history and feel his personality... Oh I don't kid myself, I know his smart mouth won't change, his quips will be just as smarmy and quick, but now I have this totally different perspective of him.

It is true what is said, there are two sides to every story and when you are presented with both, you are in the position to judge for yourself. Reading Potter's story is just like that...

I have enjoyed every book so far, Vampire Hunt being my favourite but having read this story, I have to say that this one has just topped the lot and I never normally sing the praises of short novels. Having said that, obviously this book would be nothing without the others and MUST be read in order...

Tim - you have blown me away!!!

YAY MORE POTTER!!!

That's exactly what I said when I found out about this book, and it was everything that I hoped it would be.

It was nice to get a deeper look into this mystery bad boy that has won me over time and time again. Knowing more about him only makes me swoon for him even more, but more importantly it's what this novella added to this series. It answered some questions that I've had roaming around my head since Vampire Hunt. Packed with lots of action, plenty of Ah Ha moments, and just the right amount of feeling I loved this book. It was so nice to see the world through Potter's eyes. To know what he is thinking for once, and see why he does the things he does. Including why he smokes so much! lol

I say this novella is a must read for all fans of the Kiera Hudson Series, and now I'm even more anxiously waiting the last book. OMG I can't believe the ride is almost over:(

"Wolf House" lets you explore Sean Potter on a deeper level.

You mean he's not just a smart mouth who whispers, acts like a prick, then wants to be all Batman with everything?

Well, yes and no.

In "Wolf House" you get to relive his early days leading up to him becoming a police officer to one of his first missions.

It's an interesting read that will leave you satisfied in knowing why he has some of the mannerisms he does.

While I'm not a big Potter fan, I found this book to be quite satisfying. I loved the action, the suspense, and the "OH! I get it now" moments. The ending is the best! You won't believe how Mr. Tim links the entire series up with this book!! Fabulous!

Now, this is not a stand alone novel, at all. It will spoil bits of the Kiera Hudson series if you start with this book. Read them in order if you don't like SPOILER BUNNIES!!

Luke and Murphy are in this book and even a glimpse of Dr. Ravenwood.

It's a fun read that will leave you howling until the very end. Full of bite, wings, screams, and oh my's!

A must have for every Potter fan out there!

And yes ladies... the cover is explained ;)

While I guess it might have that LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD appeal with Potter and two werewolves waiting at a house to unearth a killer. I found it to have more of a Goldilox or Three Little Pigs appeal. The big bad wolf was lurking... they just didn't know when he would wind up.

The Plot:
There's been a murder! Actually, there's been quite a few! And in an un-CSI move a big bad wolf detective dude pops a cap into Murphy, makes Luke scream, and orders Potter to go find out who's been munching on all the children over in the town of Little Hope. Tagging along are two wolves that must keep an eye on him, Drake and Madison and the heavy burden that if he doesn't find the big bad wolf in three days it will be curtains for Murphy and the big house for Luke and himself.

How's he going to get out of this one?

Characters:
Potter - I still think he resembles a smart-ass Wolverine, but not as sexy.
Madison - A werewolf voice of reason? Or something a little more?
Drake - A hot headed young wolf who is suspicious of Potter and everything he does.
Murphy - The sergeant Vampyrus who takes Potter under his wing
Luke - Brad Pitt pretty boy Vampyrus cop
Detective Harker - Big Bad Wolf on a mission to take down a child killer or at least - bark orders to have it done

Greta's Thoughts
A nice short read that will keep you guessing "WHO DONE IT" till the very end

Firstly thank-you to author Tim O'Rourke for providing me with a copy of this to read and review!

In Wolf House, a Kiera Hudson novella set between Vampire Hunt and Vampire Hollows, we follow hard headed Potter as he embarks on his mission to rescue Luke. This novella, told completely in Potter’s POV is the first time we’re allowed a really detailed look into Potters head and see’s Potter remember a mission he undertook years before in which he was also required to save the life of his friends.

I was really excited to read this novella. Anyone who knows me should already know how much I adore Potter. While Luke is the perfect love interest it’s Potter who has me besotted. He’s foul mouthed and crude and utterly perfect. Sean Potter is such a fantastic character and when author Tim O’Rourke told me he was writing a novella in Potter’s POV I practically jumped for joy over the opportunity to spend some time with my favourite guy.

And I’m pleased to say Wolf House did not disappoint! This story was very interesting, especially as we got to see Potter at a younger age and even learned the motivations behind some of his past actions, and even recent actions. This novella is pure O’Rourke with its mystery and it’s compelling plot.

As Potter details the events of his mission at the Wolf House, I could see the difference in the Potter of then and even the growth he’s undertaken. His “voice” sounded different than the Potter I’ve come to love in all the previous books, less jaded maybe. Don’t get me wrong....he’s still a grump, with his issues and problems, but he seemed different to me still. Not that that was a bad thing! I liked seeing a younger Potter and see the relationship he had with Murphy and Luke.

A perfect short story for Keria Hudson fans that should tied them over until the last book, Wolf House is a quick, exciting and action packed read that you’re sure to love!. I definitely recommend!

Oh Potter...my current guilty-pleasure *sigh*. I am soo happy Tim crunched this one out right before Christmas. First let me start by saying how about that cover, huh? Is it hot in here or is it just me? ;) Ok, back to my review of the actual novella... Wolf House, as mentioned above, is set between book four, Vampire Breed, and the soon to be released finally book in the series (*tear*) book five, Vampire Hollows. Tim has taken the reading and blogging world by storm with his Kiera Hudson story line, each book better than the last, filling in more and more of the storyline, introducing new characters, and removing others. This one does not disappoint either. There is a lot of story packed into this 30,000 word read. It also gives us insight as to some of the reasons why Potter is Potter. An added bonus? Oh sure...it brings Murphy back into the story! I really liked him and shed a few tears when he left the story. Wolf House was everything I could of ever asked for in getting to the heart of Sean Potter! A must read for fans of this series!

I was really excited to read this book as I have always been a fan of Potter. He seemed to be a guy with deep secrets and a little bit mysterious at times. It was good to read about his friendship with Luke and Murphy and it fleshed out the characters that little bit more. I always did wonder about him ripping out Eloisa's heart and whether it was just for Murphy so it's good to know the true story behind it and I felt he should have told Kiera as she would have understood him better. I guess we all have our secrets don't we. Thanks Tim, another great read and I look forward to many more.

When I was looking for some new books to dive into, I found a special offer compilation thingy of Kiera Hudson series one, on Amazon Audible. As this was a bundle deal, I didn’t actually read through the blurb of all the books. I just read something with vampires etc etc, and then decided to hit the purchase button. Because of that, I wasn’t prepared for a short instalment dedicated to Potter. I wish I had taken the time to read the blurb for this one, because then I would have skipped it all together.

In my opinion this is nothing but an extra way of making money on the series, by answering questions I’m not sure anyone actually asked. When there’s a series as interesting as this one, where there’s so many plot twists and a lot of mysteries going on, I find it a great shame to start focusing on other things than the main plot.

Towards the end Tim did manage to make it intertwine with the main plot, but not in a way that was needed. Not in a way that made me glad that I listened to it. And certainly not in a way, that made Potter seem like anything but the unapologetic arse I already saw him as. Actually, it made me like him even less – which I didn’t think was possible. But the way he give Kiera an out for her jealous behaviour in the previous book, when he remembers things he didn’t even know he had forgotten, is just beyond ridiculous. But even worse, he learned absolutely nothing from his past mistakes and he once again hides behind an egotistical and prideful mask.

I loved that it was from Sean's point of view. To finally get into his head. To relate to this character. People not understanding your actions. Keeping your motivations hidden for the greater good. Carrying your demons, trying to hide them. Being a good person with conflicting past. The shortest of the series but the meat of the meal for me. This is such a great series!

RATING: 5 SMOKIN' HOT , SMART MOUTHED POTTER STARS!!!

How clever has Tim written this novella? Tim, you are so good at your twists and things you weave into your story for the reader to discover the reason/answer to further down the track.

Apart from the fact that Mr Smart Mouth, Sean Potter himself stars in his own novella....yay!!! and we learn more about what makes Potter tick, Tim has put in some wonderful twists. When you think you know which way the story is heading...curve ball....

Personally, I love that Tim took the time to give us Potter’s story. I had been hoping we would get a Potter POV, just to get in his mind and see what has made him that cranky pants, smart mouthed, witty, hesitant, brave guy that I knew I would love after reading Vampire Shift. There is something wonderful about a male lead character that is flawed and not your typical male lead that can get under the skin of the reader and you just love him for all his flaws.

Potter doesn’t disappoint with his smart mouth in this novella. Ha!! the dialogue...and the...........

I realised how much I missed pipe smoking Murphy. It was good to pretend he was back amongst the living, even if it was back story woven through the novella.

You are going to be in for a treat with this Novella. It may not be a regular book size, but what Tim packs into these pages * raises eyebrows* ......you will be very surprised with what you discover...I know I was....several times over.

I’ll say it again, this is a very clever Novella, it made me love Potter even more. There are many layers to this boy and so much intelligence. I really am going to miss this series when all said and done. I am rather addicted!

FAVE QUOTES:

“.....I’d known guys who had spent a fortune on wining and dining and still never scored a home run!......”

“Look where you’re going next time, Mr F%$#@ Magoo!”

......”You do know what D.S. stands for, don’t you?”

“Dog shit?” I smiled back at him.

“You must be smacked up to your tits on drugs if you think I’m going to help you,” I barked. “I’d rather stick pins in my eyes.”

“Ready?” he asked.

“For what?” I shot back.

“I dunno. I’m just asking – are you ready?”

I glanced sideways at Madison and she shot me a quick look.

“Oh for crying out loud,” I groaned. “We’re not a bunch of five-year olds!”

I could pull some more quotes, but then that would be almost every time Potter opens his mouth...ha!

(4.5 Stars) I always enjoy reading novellas written from subordinate character's points of views. "Wolf House" is Potter's story and it provides insight as to how Murphy got his limp and how Potter became involved romatically with a werewolf woman after swearing he would never do so.

Murphy, Potter and Luke have arrived at a murder scene only to be stopped by other police officers. Murphy insists that he be allowed onto the scene and that is when he meets Detective Harker. Harker is a lycanthrope who killed an innocent in order to frame Murphy and enlist the aide of Potter in discovering the identity of the lycanthope who has been killing children and leaving their bodies at Wolf House.

Harker shoots Murphy and threatens to let him bleed out as well as have Luke arrested if Potter does not catch the killer in the three days he has been allotted. Potter is determined to accomplish his task with all of his snarky humor. However, is everything as simple as it seems and will 3 days be sufficient to bring justice to the dead children? The answers to these questions and more can be found in "Wolf House" and you will have to read it if you want to know more.

I enjoyed this installment and cannot wait until Vampire Hollow comes out in Febuary? I have my suspicions as to who the real bad guys is and I am hoping this next installment will prove me right or wrong. Hopefully, I will not have to wait too long to find out.

Wolf House is a novella written between the fourth and fifth installments of the Kiera Hudson series. With this story being told from Potter’s point of view, you can expect snarky comments, some kicking butt and of course, some lady lovin’…

After leaving Kiera and the gang to wait in the Hollows, Potter goes off on his quest to save Luke from the zoo. On his long journey, he broods over having lost Murphy and Luke and takes us on an adventure from his past. His memory starts when he has just begun working with Luke and Murphy. On one of their first missions, they get entangled in a Lycanthrope murder mystery. It’s up to Potter to save Murphy and his fellow Vampyrus from exposure to the humans. Potter must solve the mystery of a Lycanthrope murderer before time runs out!

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was a short little treat that takes you into the mind of Sean Potter. He is one of my favorite characters in the Kiera Hudson series because of his attitude and his depth. We learn a lot more about Potter’s past and also about his actions at the end of book four.

As always, O’Rourke treats his readers to a fast paced, mystery and action packed story only this time, it’s in a smaller package. This book will have you guessing and asking “Who done it?” Wolf house is definitely a must read for fans of O’Rourke and the Keira Hudson series.

7 out of 10

Wolf House is an in-between novella that gives us a glimpse into Potter’s past while also connecting it to events within Vampire Breed. Told from Potter’s point of view, readers are swept away into Potter’s mind as he broods over the past, giving us an in-depth look into his personality and how he came to be the way he is today. This story was a real treat, and the many twists and turns within the novella kept me turning the pages from start to finish. O’Rourke is a master storyteller, gripping the reader through his masterful prose and intense storyline. I was highly impressed with the ending of this novella, and was reminded of O’Rourke’s psychological Black Hill Farm series. O’Rourke certainly knows how to deliver twists that the reader never sees coming and that will leave him/her reeling for days on end.

Oh My! First off Tim.....you leave me speechless again with your fantastic story telling and immaculate creativity. I had to stop the other book I was reading as soon as I saw this one was ready for me to read. I love Potter and this book helped so much in understanding his character even more so. His humor and wit are fabulous throughout. Second, thank your for listing me in your dedication. I know myself and the others greatly appreciate it. I have serious hunger pangs for the new installment due out this month......oh when when will it be ready?! Thanks again and a million times over for the stories you share with us all.

Wolf House is number 4.5 in the Kiera Hudson series by Tim O’Rourke. As with all of the other books in this series it was amazing. It goes into a story from Potter’s past that actual gives insight into other things from the past. Including how Murphy got his limp and how Potter met Murphy and Luke. It also goes deeper into things that happened in Vampire Breed. Like the others this book was full of suspense from beginning to end. I give the book 5 out of 5 stars. I defiantly recommend it. I am anxiously waiting for Feb. 13th when Vampire Hollows comes out.

Read it twice already, cant get enough Potter!! Once again Mr. O'Rourke has written a fantastic thrill ride that had me giggling thru out and left me sleep deprived with my mouth hanging open at the end (he sure does favor those last minute twists LMAO). It was an action packed gory hott mess & I loved every second of it!! And being 100% team Potter it was nice to get inside his silly sarcastic head for awhile. Another book I will recomend to everyone I know, and I will be climbing the walls till book 5 comes out next month!!!!!! Read this Series, you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

For a while, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had purposefully put out of my mind what I knew from the other books that came after this and just sat down to read. It made perfect sense what was going on, to me anyway, and I could understand why Potter hadn't quite caught on. I was surprised that with his conflicting feelings about Kiera that he still never said or thought, "If only Kiera were here, we'd be done by now and back home."
Just the same, this was a better solo Potter adventure than I expected.

This one is shorter, simpler and yet so important and necessary. It shows us who Potter was before... why he is who he is now, what happened in his past that affected him so much. What secrets he holds and things he's seen that have made him braver than any other vampyrus and yet a potty-mouthed sarcastic prick who can annoy anyone and everyone around him. Who was Sean Potter before Kiera found him in The Ragged Cove? Was he always a copper? Was he always one of the good guys?

For a small novella this sure packs a punch into the delectable world that is Potter!

Being one of my fave characters from this series I was looking forward to understanding this man more and all I can say is "Easy Tiger"!!

He is so much more than how he initially comes across in the book, especially from book one. I loved this insight into such a big character from this series.

I only hope to see more...:)

It was a good distraction while waiting on book 5 in the series. Potter is the ultimate bad-boy! You want to hate him, but it's too hard. I liked him over Luke starting in book 2. It was definitely a great, great story. It really helped to 'get' him a bit more. I plan on going back to re-read these books, since I read them so fast in greed to know what was happening I felt I went too fast. hehe Loved it. :)

So as you read this...you may think, what is the point of this book?

It's Potter's side of things....why he ended up doing what he did in that tunnel in front of Kiera...it may not make sense until the end

Also explains why Murphy had problems with his gate....what caused a permanent limp

Confirms Potter is not the traitor and that he does love Kiera

now for the last book of the series...hope it's good :)

I really liked this insight into Potter's narrative of the story and his past. I enjoyed getting to know stuff that happened to him in his past and how that's affected him and shaped him into who he is now. I also liked getting to see his thoughts and feelings for Kiera and the situation they're in with the two of them and Luke. I enjoyed reading from Potters POV!!

An excellent book, it doesn't take anything away from the series and adds some great insight into one of the main characters.

A great way of filling in some of the pasts that make the main story so complex and compelling.
