2012 Review:

I suppose it could have been a lot worse. In the end it just turned out another book in a long line of them. No rage coming up, even if the timescale and continuity are so messed up by now that they need to be put out of their misery.

On the upside, Theo was not a drama queen. On the downside, why do most guys in these books regress mentally and adopt certain feminine mannerisms once they start bottoming? I mean in all his appearances previously, Theo was portrayed as a big strong guy, sometimes a little harsh but always kind, certainly able to stand his ground. Now? Well, it wasn’t a total change but he seemed a lot softer and… I don’t know. With all that, I am pleased to note that he still felt like more of a man than our usual bottom boy.

What bugs me slightly is that the first mate thing never ever is explained. But I still want to know how the heck this worked?

Oh well. So this began another spin-off series. This means I have four more books to read at this time! Let’s hope I won’t find reason to rage again. ^^ That is getting old fast.

Now, I like Lynn Hagen's Brac-verse. I really do. But it's starting to get a little out of hand. There are now 5 series revolving around it with tons of books and more to come. And now the Fallen? It was an okay book. The problem here is that there is so much going on with this world that it's getting out of hand. By itself, the book isn't bad. It seems a bit rushed, not as good quality as some of her previous books. And while I do like the group of Fallen, I think tying them in with the Brac-verse is a bit much. I think if it wasn't tied in with the Brac Pack, it'd be a very interesting new series because come on, how many books are there about beings like the Fallen compared to werewolf or vampires? I would like to see more of the Fallen but I think the future quality of this series will depend on how Ms. Hagen chooses to involve the Fallen, whether in their own universe with minimal crossovers with the Brac-verse or if she will make them a big part of it. I'll keep reading the series but I wouldn't recommend starting this series without some knowledge of both her Brac Pack and Zeus' Pack books and teh Brac-verse. All in all, not her best work but not her worse either.

I have to say I wasn't a fan of this one. Too many questions.

I will keep reading this series, since it's Lynn Hagen and it's freaking crack, but I have to say this wasn't a good start to the series :(

Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are 121 books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series (and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each):
Brac Pack
Christian's Coven
Zeus's Pack
Demon Warriors
The Exiled

These are the series that start the Universe. Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned (good and bad) but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.

One day I WILL buy these and read them all!!! (For the correct order, just look on the Internet for Lynn Hagen Reading Order):
Brac Village
Shadow Tribe
BPNG (Brac Pack Next Generation - Brac Pack kids)
The Remus Brothers
Wolves of Desire

Theo was raving on and on about how were creatures only had one mate per lifetime, was he not all there when he was talking to Jasper and Toby, who he knew had another mate, was he not present to the many outing the ménage mates were visiting his establishment? It seems that Zeus pack had two mates each, he isn't a warrior of the pack but neither was Hunter and he had two mates as well.

The only problem that I see with the theory that Theo had two mates was that winged beasts had only one mate but I noticed that Demon Warriors also had only one mate yet their leader, Panahasi, turned out to have two, could Nazaryth have had two as well?

I'm not familiar with winged beasts, Nazaryth or Theo. I skipped all the books in Zeus' Pack series so I don't know a single thing about shifters who live in Zeus' pack so I felt lost and disconnected while reading their story.

OOOhhhh it's Theo from Theo's Bar and Grill first mentioned (almost sure) in Heaven's Hell. One thing I love about Lynn Hagen is that she doesn't forget her other great characters. They all get their own cute story. Still waiting what's in store for Thomas from the Rec Center.

Theo had several too stupid to Live moments though. Insisting on stepping out when he knew badass hellhounds were after him? Forgetting which Rock to press to get back to safety etc...

It touched me that he did not just dismiss his love for Dorian (his first mate) and continued honoring his memory even by letting him go in the end.

typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by :
lynn hagen
stormy glenn
scarlett hyacinth
carol lynne
gabrielle evans

unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.

I really liked this book so much better than any other from this author and I really wanted to rate this higher but, I've noticed that with this author the men who are mates often have their machoness lost some where along the way. They start to bat eyelashes, pout and just playing the damsel.

I'm not saying that there needs to be two badass MCs but I don't even like to read about a chick doing those things, so I sure as hell don't want to read about grown ass men acting like chicks.

I like my m/m to be about men, not men acting like weak women who pout. This book didn't have as much as prior books I've read from this author so I enjoyed it more.

I was wondering about Theo's intelligence more than once. But what annoyed me most was this scene:
Overall, it wasn't bad book. I just really like when characters, if they are portrayed as intelligent, actually act the part.

I really liked this book. I do wish there had been more on the fallen and their world. Theo was struggling to overcome losing his mate. When Nazaryth come on the scene claiming to be his mate, Theo freaks. This is close to being an insta-love book. I did think all things considered that Theo caved fast with overall little angst. I still liked reading the story.

I am a big fan of Lynn Hagen and this book the first of the Winged Beasts series was as good as all of her other books. The writing is great, the story moves along and the Romance between the two is adorable even though at times Theo made me want to slap him.

I actually enjoyed this. Though I would of loved more detail as to how Theo had two mates. And would of loved more than what I got from the ending. But all in all it was enjoyable enough that I would love to read the next book!!!

Wolves and wings

I must say that I had fun reading about the Exiled Beast. Their back story was interesting and getting a second chance at romance never hurts. Looking forward to the next book.
