This volume tells the fascinating story of Man's conceptualization of the solar system from the earliest times, when star maps represented what could be seen to the naked eye, to the modern age, when powerful telescopes and probes afford fresh insights.
It was great - provided a lot more information about the Solar system than I expected. Visually awesome :) You find out more about different historical world views and their supporters and scientists/philosophers behind it, also how the world views changed. There's little biographical data about the people, but a lot of detail about everything else. You find out more about history of astronomy and about the major objects in the solar system too.
