This is a gorgeous book with carefully chosen illustrations showing the artist's progression from representational landscapes through to his well known decorative works in primary colors. Sometimes the captions and the text are not in sync and you have to page ahead to catch up to the images the author refers to, but overall it's a solid review of the artist's work with some background on his life, the places where he lived and painted, and the artists and trends that influenced him.
