Sadie Dupont is from an old Louisiana family, meaning she's set to inherit the one thing the Andersons want—the historic Dupont family home.
To Sadie, family, and jazz music are her life, but after the tragic loss of her father, she loses her connection to music, along with a piece of her heart. Everyone left behind seems to be moving forward, from her sister being too occupied with her own life, to her overbearing, but lovable cousin constantly in her business, and then her mother trying to sell their family house to the one group of people her father wouldn't want near their invaluable home—the Anderson family, who run the Garden District real estate, and have the power to not only take away the place Sadie grew up in—but the heartfelt memories created within.
With the realtor moguls sniffing around, this brings back none other than Sadie's ex, Cole Anderson, causing the past to creep into her presence, and making Sadie's summer more complicated as he tries to make up for the Incident...
But with Sadie's number one priority being her father’s last wishes, she burns bridges in an attempt to honor his memory. But when Cole becomes her pillar of support, not only does he help her love the woman she’s become, but he revives the music in her soul...
This book has a CHOKEHOLD on me. It is the most heartfelt story about family and growth and forgiveness. The characters jump off the page, are very relatable, and I will never forget them. I read this book months ago and I STILL think of them. I’ll hear a song and think “wow this reminds me of Cole and Sadie.” FOFS made me feel real, deep emotion with every page. It made me laugh, it made me cry (👹🔪), and it made me fall in love.
First off…COLE😩🥰 I LOVE THAT MAN. He’s just so….ugh. He’s perfection.
SADIE!!! She is a badass bitch, and she’s the funniest little shithead you ever did meet. Being inside her head in this book is so much fun.
Mason—😩😤🔥dare I expand? ….
Kat: I want to give this woman the biggest hug and then tell her she’s sort of a bitch but I love her anyway and she’s hilarious.
Gabe….oh, Gabe………..
Every scene left me speechless but a few that are INCOMPARABLE!!!!!!! 1. The BAYOU!!!!!! Need I say more? 2. When she plays the piano🥺 3. The GALLERY!!!!! 4. THAT EPILOGUE😭😭😭
This book is so special to me, and I cannot wait for it to be special to so many others. PLEASE, if you have not, do yourself the favor of reading this absolute masterpiece of a book. It will change your life.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity read FOFS early and I simply can not say enough about how incredible this book is. Haley’s ability to tell emotional, soul crushing and heartfelt stories will never cease to amaze me. Every single character comes to life in ways that only Haley could do. This book put me THROUGH IT ALL. And I’m honestly better for it. (even including the fact that I cried for the last 25% of this book 🫡)
Sadie and Cole have my heart always and forever. 🤍
This author, this book and these characters are all so incredibly special to me and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to meet them too. 🥹🎷🎹
I'm not usually a fan of "will they/won't they," but I read this in like three days!
I enjoyed the New Orleans nods - Sadie's house is such a highlight and I loved learning little tidbits about NOLA real estate and feeling like I was there on the gallery. Warrington really captures the setting. I love when an author writes with authenticity! The mentions of the humidity and the sudden rainstorms? Took me right there!
A sweeping story of love, loss, and the power of forgiveness. Faces on Frenchmen Street vividly depicts the freedom in letting go of the past to make way for your destined future. Sadie and Cole’s tension crackles from the first page and strolls alongside them through the French Quarter, all the way to The End. Haley Warrington’s debut sparkles through and through!
