The second book in this series of redneck badboys. They work and play hard and they protect what's theirs. Well written contemporary romance with memorable characters. These boys don't play within the law, they are fiercely loyal and hot as hell.
A very entertaining read. I read the first book a couple years ago, so I only remembered little bits of the side characters.
I liked the relationship between the three brothers and their love for each other. I don't read many books where the characters are regular working class, so it was actually kind of refreshing.
The heroine, Angel, was a feisty, tomboy bartender who had a string of REALLY bad luck throughout the book and was sensitive under her tough exterior.
The hero, Blackie, could've been a member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood since he was six and a half feet tall with long black hair down to his waist. Plus, he was a badass.
Lots of action, violence and the hardass hero being sweet to the heroine.
Angel Shelby doesn't need a man to make her feel complete especially a man hand picked by her brother Digger. Digger Shelby is putting his life in order before heading to prison for tax evasion. Digger trusts Blackie "The Devil" McCassey to protect his sister from any and all harm that comes her way. Blackie hasn't made it a secret that he doesn't want to marry period but is willing to do so for Digger. Blackie McCassey finds that he likes the idea of protecting Angel. When trouble comes calling to both Angel and Blackie no one will be in their way. Is Blackie the one for Angel? Will either Angel or Blackie admit their feelings? What kind of trouble is it for Blackie and Angel? Your answers await you in The Devil's Candy.
I really liked the history and background for Blackie and Angel. My hero is Digger for playing matchmaker. The McCassey family continues to grow bigger and varied. Blackie is definitely bad boy gone straight for his family. Angel is no nonsense woman that doesn't let anyone push her around cuz she's been there and done that. Really looking forward to my next adventure in this series.
This book is as good as the first one in the McCassey Series (No Worries). Blackie McCassey is a baaaad boy, but he's good to, and protective over his family, which includes his brothers and cousins. He's tough and hard-as-nails, but his personality fits the story perfectly. He has a good sense of humor, which really makes his character and the book. This is a definite must read.
Blackie and his brothers and cousins are BAD. And I love every one of them! This book has a great mix of everything: love, humor, action, and a great story. Read it. You. Will. Love. It.
