The way Kathy tells stories has me in a chokehold! I'm not even talking about the romance.. The emotions you feel for every single one her characters is so raw, you can't help but be invested from beginning to end. She has this way of bringing light to sensitive topics but doing it in a way that has you really thinking. I’ll never stop recommending her books.

Ahh this was intense! The epilogue made my heart so happy. 🥰
~Zoey is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She’s the hostage that got away and is now fighting to stay alive. Easton couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the woman who cares more about others than herself. He knows she deserves more than a thief but he will protect her with his life.~
Loved the mystery in this! I had so many thoughts on who could’ve set up the robbery but never thought it would be who it was. Also, what a backstory of Zoey and her father. They really go through some stuff together. I love the life lessons this book teaches you along the way.
Easton is so dark and mysterious, I love that he surprises you and makes you wonder. LOVE how protective he is of Zoey! Their story is just so beautiful! They go through so much together in such a short amount of time. I adored their relationship. It was nice to see Zoey happy after losing her boyfriend in Deadly Illusions.
I only wish there was more of them together! 😭

Willow is so awkward around Shane, I’m dying! 😂
~Willow had a normal life until someone pushed her off a bridge. Luckily her neighbor (who happens to be a detective) was in the right place at the right time. Now, Shane is committed to finding who did this.~
Shane and Willow.. Where do I even start? You can feel their connection from the very start. The way Shane glues himself to Willow after pulling her from the river.. SWOON. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. And let me just say, his whole story just blew me away.. IYKYK!
There are so many things I want to say about this but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Just trust me and go read this!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

These two stories were so well written. The first is a great hostage falls for the person keeping her hostage. The second is the perfect mix of mystery, who did it, and touch her & die so we all know it was my fav. Kathy is a great author and even lets the readers pick some details. 10/10 recommend but read your triggers!

I kept having to pause on and off with reading this book but the stories kept pulling me in every time. I connected with the characters in so many different ways which made me emotional. This was beautifully written.
